  1. Welcome aboard, Jman!
  2. I'm biased here. I have an Ultimate 12 and love it. The new models are even better, more stable, better standing (flatter bottomed pontoons), etc. It looks like you are in the market for a hybrid kayak/canoe, both are fine products, as is the Wilderness Systems Commander. If you can get some sit-in time, that might help you decide on comfort based on your body, etc.
  3. Welcome aboard!
  4. Sure, BPS makes some great products. I was curious, as you are, but when I couldn't confirm from BPS -- in writing -- what the managers said was "policy" I got concerned. BPS managers can say anything they want. But if that's the case, why doesn't the company come right out and spell it out for us. I guess they actually do for many products, but with a wink and a nod the warranty is up to the manager-on-duty. So lesson here, get to know the manager of the fishing department!! LOL. I know the one at my BPS, but mainly cuz he's a stand-up dude and has some great fishing advice.
  5. This is true, but depends on the manager at said BPS. I was told that if Johnny Morris' name is on the product, BPS will warrant it past the stated warranty. This was from two different managers of BPS fishing departments. Regardless, I decided that it wasn't worth it (warranty-wise) as what if those managers quit/retired/fired and the new one(s) refused to honor spoken words of their predecessors. I actually asked BPS if I could get that in writing. Answer: no. My response, buy said items from other company with warranty in writing. If warranty matters, consider DVT's words.
  6. Well then, all is forgiven, and welcome aboard!
  7. Agreed. If you need a trailer, your price will increase significantly. Are you unable to car top, or hoist a yak into a truck bed? You can find yaks that are fairly light in the $500 range. I've seen some yaks trailered, but only the heavier kind, and usually Hobie....
  8. Tough situation, and I can certainly appreciate your enthusiasm for C&R (I'm that way, too). I'll agree with others that if he's w/in legal keep limits, he's legal. We may not like it, but not a whole lot we can do. For me, this is a sport, too, not a means of putting food on my table. I've eaten some fresh water fish I've caught (crappie), and believe I ate one bass in my entire life, back when I was a wee laddie maybe 6 or 7 years of age. But it's 99.9% CnR now.
  9. Welcome aboard!

  12. Welcome aboard, Dennis!
  13. Nope. I didn't expect a win for the Bills. Drew and da boyz are WAY too hot and with Coach back, unbeatable in the Dome. But I hold out hope the Bills will actually have a winning season again in my lifetime. As for winning a SuperBowl.... The X-Files Cigarette Smoking Man forbid it for while he's alive.
  14. I'd take that haul over the Bills losing to Drew Brees and the Saints! LOL Great day for ya!
  15. Welcome aboard, Brent!
  16. Welcome dank! Lots of folks here in the Hampton Roads area. And a lot of great fisheries on the South Side. Besides the fact you came to the best forum to learn!
