  1. Yea that makes sense. I guess it would be winter for me too.
  2. I heard we are going to have an Indian Summer this fall. I was just wondering if anyone knew how most bass react to this. does it push them back into summer haunts or what?
  3. Something that you have to realize is the fact that all of those guys more than likely caught their first bass out of a pond. I think they would do pretty well lol.
  4. I caught a bass on a t-rigged lizard one time in my pond when i was a kid that had a jitterbug in its lip. I had actually had that same bass break my line with that jitterbug like a week or two before.
  5. That doesnt mean there isnt enough forage. That just means that they were really aggressive that day. I mean there could be some sort of competition there but i bet your pond has plenty for them to eat.
  6. Ive had a few close calls but never hooked one. I had a water moccasin hit a hula popper in my pond when i was a kid though.
  7. Ive done it probably 3 times with crankbaits. I have doubled up tons of times on a double fluke rig.
  8. Fun fishing: Water Tournament: Water, Gatorade, Beef Jerky
  9. I was duck hunting at Lake Greenwood here in SC this pat January. I brought a rod with a jerkbait on it in case things got slow. Which they did around 10 or so. We were hunting an area that was LOADED with snails. I caught a bass on my first cast that had a crawdad in its throat. So i gues crawdads could eat them which could in turn attract bass? Just a thought.
  10. I would try a chart/blue back crankbait. Ive been throwing the strike king crankbaits here in SC. I would go with either a series 5 or 6(depending on if you want to plow the bottom or not). You can still catch bass on shad patterned cranks when there are no shad though. Red would also work good too.
  11. Oh ok. I have a tournament on Clarks Hill in August and ive never fished the lake. I know that the bass will often school with the sripers but i didnt know how deep they will go in search of bluebacks because i have heard that they will go pretty deep.
  12. Ive seen that before. Still cant belive they will bite topwaters though! I hooked a cotton mouth once on a hula popper when i was a kid.
  13. Does anyone have any literature on the migrations routes of bluebacks in lakes? Im guessing its alot like shad?
