  1. Look for any kind of weeds. They tend to hold heat and help the water warm up. There will always be bass in them. What i like to do is, find a creek channel at the mouth of a cove with some timber around it. Bass are mainly keying in on crawdads this time of year. Just crawl a jig that resembles the lakes crayfish the best through the timber. Remember to move SLOW. The bite will feel like a little tap most times. Hope this helps!
  2. If its anything like fishing a huge hydrilla mat, your not really going to be able to locate alot of fish. Md advice would be to get a good topwater search bait and cast EVERY inch of the hydrilla. Like im sure you have heard, fish the edge of the weeds with a spinnerbait also. Im positive that if you try these then you will catch some fish. Hope this helps!
  3. From situations ive been in, Bass will get really tight to hydrilla and stuff in the winter because it holds heat from the sun. Therefore the water is warmer in the area. This time of year i would try a spinnerbait along the edge of the weeds and drop a tube into holes. I would probably use a white tube, black would be excellent though. Hope this helps!!
  4. My family is pretty into catfishing and bream fishing. When i was about 10-11 i decided to break away from it and buy some baits. I researched evything i could on bass fishing that i could find. So, i taught myself.
  5. My only problem is that i have trouble staying slow in deep water. I went out on the lake for an hour or so today and shook off 2 decent fish though.
  6. Yea thats about the same kind of thing i look for too. Im fishing a tournament in february on Lake Murray in SC. Ive never fished it in the winter, so im just trying to get ANY information i can to help make a game plan. Im more than likely going to end up crawling a jig in creek channels and slow rolling a crankbait on some drop offs.
  7. Does anyone have ANY tips for bass fishing in LATE winter?????? Thanks!
