  1. Thanks for the reply. Most of our lakes really don't have a green tint. In this case, should I get the clear? And yes.....I guess I should have been a little more specific on the frogs. I was talking about the soft body buzz frogs. I actually thought about lining my flippin' stick with braid and letting it double as a hollow body frog rod. I don't think that rod has titanium guides though. I used braid "back in the day" with ceramic guides without any problems....so maybe I'll give it a shot.
  2. I know a lot of this stuff has been covered (I used the search function numerous times and read about 9,000 posts!! Lol!).....but I never could relate any of them to my situation. I haven't bass fished for about 5-6 years...but decided I would get back into it this spring. I was usually a multi-purpose rod type of guy.....and I still have all of them. I am having a hard time deciding on line. I should mention, I am going to add a Lamiglas crankin' stick this year. My current rods are Team Daiwa, All Star, and one Shimano...... I have two 6'6" medium action rods. (thinking about 12# fluoro for these) 7'6" Flippin' stick.....maybe 20# fluoro 6'10" Medium Heavy.......I'm thinking about mono for this rod. Thought maybe I could use it for frogs and other topwater. Lastly...the crankin' stick will probably be 12# mono. These are all casting rods. But my big question.....how do I decide between green and clear line? I would think you would want green in some stained/tinted water......and clear, well...in clear water. But just wanted to make sure. Please provide feedback on my above "plans". I don't know....I could be way off. Thanks in advance.
  3. Where can you find a listing of lakes included on the cards? I looked on the Garmin site, but it only listed the states that were included.
  4. I thought the same thing. But, they have one in a shop near my office.....so I guess the convenience factor played a part in my consideration. I hate to order stuff!! Lol!!
  5. Hello all. This is my first post......but have been "lurking" for awhile. I have decided to get back into bass fishing this year after a 5 year hiatus of using nothing but a fly rod. I have kept my equipment in good shape and think I will be ok with most of it. However, I want to add a dedicated cranking rod to my equipment list. I saw the Lamiglas Excel Bass Series Casting rods on Tackle Warehouse's site. The one I am looking at is the XL705Glass. I like the wide range of lure weight listed for it. I have also been looking at a 6'9" and 7'0" Carrot Stix LTX Cranking rods. I picked one of those up in a local shop the other day and it felt pretty nice. They also have a decent lure weight range (1/4-3/4 oz). Lastly, I was looking at the Quantum Tour KVD Cast Rod in the 7'0" Med Hvy model. It has the tightest lure weight range (1/4-1/2 oz). Could someone please provide some feedback to help me decide? Thanks in advance!!
