Massachusetts Fishing Licenses
Ohio is starting to go to online too, the small stores dont offer any more so you have to go to walmart if you dont want to go online or (like me) dont have a credit card. But i will not complain about the price, in ohio (and i think for all states) the money raised by the department of wildlife stays in the department. We have alot of conservation areas so i am always willing to through in my money to keep them running.

A few interesting observations about bass feeding habits / lure selection
ITs not just big bait= big fish, it also relies on the profile of the bait. a big bass might take down a 10 inch shiner, but it would try to take down a 10 bluegill. i watched something on this on north american fisherman and it made alot of sense. Bass(and other predators) know what will swallow easy and what wont. a long slender fish will go down much easier that a tall pan fish. Also as someone noted earlier big bas are big because they understand they cannot exert more energy than they will get from the food they eat. If a healthy 8inch shiner goes swimming by a no prepared bass it my pass knowing it would take to much energy but if a wounded 6inch goes by, you bet he's gonna go get his free meal.

Fishing stock ponds for T.V. shows....
North American Fisherman about two weeks ago ran a show where the when to a random new body of water and showed them struggling while trying to find the fish. And i feel that bill dance, given it might be on stocked ponds, is about the most informative fishing show out there right now (the 2010 series of bill dance at least).

Confidence Lost...

Fish Finder
I am new to the whole fish finder thing and was wonder if you guys could help. I'm currently look for a non permanent finder for a john boat. Was originally looking at the hummingbird fishing buddy but after a trip to bass pro i am leaning towards the piranha max 170. you guys have any experience with this model or have any good suggestions for a finder?

P90X
Me and my room mates did it for the first phase. I am a former cross country runner who is still fairly active, and just letting you know, this thing kicked I disagree. I dropped 10 pounds without and diet. Hell few of the nights i grabbed a beer when i was done. So if you are willing to stick with it, you WILL get good results.

Most Gratifying thing about fishing?
wading the river in the middle of nowhere with my dad has got to be one of the best things in it for me. Though a close second was teaching one of my good buddies how to bass fish. His eyes the first time a smally hit top water on him was priceless.

panfishing secerts discoverd!
Was night fishing last year and my friend pulled in a 12 3/4" blue gill night fishing for cat with chicken liver on bottom with a 2/o hook. So i would say chicken liver should be on the list for big gill.
