  1. Fishfordollars: Thanks for your recent post. For the money, it's hard to beat the Solene SLP10 baitcaster. As you discovered, the performance and durability of this reel rivals that of much more expensive models offered by our competitors. We're glad, but not surprised, to hear that you have unexpectedly become a fan of the Solene. Your reel should continue to provide you with many years of reliable service out on the water. Good Fishing! Pinnacle1
  2. Wisconsin Heat and MattinOK: Thanks for your recent posts. For the money ($69.99 MSRP), Pinnacle's new Vision Slyder is hard to beat. It's not only an excellent "finesse" baitcaster (thanks to its innovative "Finesse Wheel"), it also boasts a 7:1 gear ratio for working faster reaction baits. So, whether the fish are in the mood for a slow, enticing finesse-type presentation along the bottom, or a speedier rippin' type retrieve, you'll have all the tools at your fingertips. Personally, I find the Finesse Wheel easier to use than our competitor's "bar." It seems to also allow for more precision and control when working finesse worms and creature baits slowly over structure. As far as casting goes, I'm able to throw lighter drop-shotted plastics without any problems. If I want to throw super light rigs on let's say 6-pound test, I'll switch to a spinning reel as opposed to a baitcaster. It should also be noted that castability also depends upon other factors, such as how you set the reel's magnetic anti-backlash control and spool control knob. The length/action of the rod you use also comes into play, as does an "educated" thumb and the angler's overall casting ability. Thanks again for your interest in Pinnacle. Good Fishing! Pinnacle1
  3. JonBasser: Thanks for your recent post at the Pinnacle Forum. Our flagship "top-of-the-line" baitcasters in the current lineup are the Scion Select X (10 stainless steel bearings, metal frame/side cover, 7:1 retrieve and more). Right up there with the Scion Select X are the Lucille Limited and Vision XLT reels -- also excellent all-around baitcasters. The Vision models are a little sleeker, low-profile, but the Scion and Lucille models feature a little more line capacity. All of the models mentioned are dependable, durable performers offering exceptional castability, plenty of power and super-smooth, consistent multi-disc drag systems. At present, we are developing a new state-of-the-art lineup of "Tournament Class" baitcasters, spinning reels and matching rods for bass-fishing applications. Pinnacle Tournament Class reels/rods, which will be available to consumers in early 2011, are being designed to meet the exact specifications of our pro stafers -- all highly respected B.A.S.S. Elite Series pros. Good news is, unlike our competitors, we'll be keeping the price of this custom quality gear within reach of the average angler. You can learn more about these reels and more at our website (www.PinnacleFishing.com). Good Fishing! Pinnacle1
  4. Xpress Mike: Thanks for the update. We're glad we could be of service, and that your reel is performing well. Now, get out there and catch some big ones! Best, Pinnnacle1
  5. MN Bass Man: Thanks for your recent inquiry. Unfortunately, we don't offer a left-hand retrieve, low-profile reel with a 5:1 gear ratio at present. We are working on a new high-end "Tournament Class" cranking reel (4.7:1 gear ratio) to be introduced at the next ICAST tackle trade show this summer. For the first year, however, that reel will only be available with right-hand retrieve. We may add a left-handed model the following year, but that decision hasn't been made yet. I'll forward your letter of interest in such a reel to our R & D department for future consideration. Thanks again for your interest in Pinnacle. Good Fishing! Pinnacle1
  6. Backwater 4: Thanks for your recent post. The VS10 and VS20 models were discontinued about 7 years ago. It's possible, however, that we still have the necessary repair parts. Please check with the following Pinnacle authorized warranty and service center to see if they have what you need: Southeast Expos Rod & Reel Service 3142 Platt Springs Rd. Springdale, SC 29170 Tel: 803-794-2221 Fax: 803-794-2252 E-mail: service@pinnaclefishing.com Good Fishing, Pinnacle1
  7. T-Rig: Thanks for your recent inquiry. Here's a list of Pinnacle Baitcasters currently available with left-hand retrieve. If you are unable to locate the desired model through local retailers, you can purchase online through our website at www.PinnacleFishing.com. Vision XLT (model VLP10XLTLH) Vision X (model VLP10XLH) Alyssa XLT (model AL10XLTLH) Pro XLT (model PRO10XLTLH) Inertia Finesse (ISP10LH) Solene (SLP10LH)
  8. Captain Obvious: Thanks for your recent post. I'm assuming you're talking about a baitcasting reel. In my opinion, the Allysa XLT baitcaster is the best performing, most durable reel we offer within that price range. It's smooth, casts exceptionally well, has an excellent drag and can take a beating. For the money...hard to beat. MSRP for this reel is around $119, but you should be able to buy one for around $100 at sporting goods chains like Academy. You also can't go wrong with Pinnacle's Pro XLT or Matrix X models which retail for about $20 less. Good Fishing! Pinnacle1
  9. Incheon Basser: I sent you a private message in response to your latest post. If we can be of service, please let us know. Pinnacle1
  10. No problem. Glad we could be of service! Pinnacle1
  11. Smart Journal: Thanks for your recent inquiry. In the current lineup, the stiffest rod we offer for bass-fishing applications is our Vertex VGT661CAH (6' 6", one-piece, heavy action, 12-20 lb. class) casting model. We will be coming out with stiffer action rod models, however, when we introduce our new top-of-the-line Tournament Class rod series in early Spring 2011. You can learn more about our Vertex Series IM7 Graphite rods at our website (www.PinnacleFishing.com). Thanks again for your interest in Pinnacle Tackle. Good Fishing! Pinnacle1
  12. Incheon Basser: Thanks for your recent Forum post. Pinnacle Fishing is a division of parent company Silver Star (Silstar), which is headquartered in Korea. While Silstar reels and rods are offered within Korea, at present the company does not distribute Pinnacle brand products within that country. Currently, Pinnacle reels and rods are available within the U.S. only. If you are based in Korea and you wish to purchase Pinnacle tackle, you can do so online through the www.PinnacleFishing.com website. Thanks again for your interest in Pinnacle. Good Fishing! Pinnacle1
  13. Trevor: Thanks for your recent Forum post. We think you'll be very pleased with the overall construction and performance of Pinnacle tackle. For the money, you can't beat the smoothness, castability, fish-fighting power and reliable, ultra-consistent multi-disc drag systems. All of our reels are backed by a one-year manufacturer's warranty covering any defects. If within that period you experience any problems, you can send your reel in to our authorized Warranty and Service Center for repair at no charge. Thanks again for your interest in Pinnacle. Good Fishing! Pinnacle1
  14. MattinOK: Thanks for your recent e-mail inquiry. We will be introducing a high-end "Tournament Class" series of spinning reels and rods in early 2011. Both the reels and the rods are being designed to meet the exact specifications of our BASS Elite Series pro staffers -- Dave Wolak, Paul Elias, Britt Myers and Grant Goldbeck. We think you'll be very impressed by not only the ultra-smooth performance of these Tournament Class spinning reels, but also by the super-strong yet feather-light and sensitive contruction of the Tournament Class spinning rods. This top-of-the-line spinning gear will complement the complete selection of Tournament Class baitcasting tackle we'll be introducing. All of these products will be unveiled at the next ICAST tackle industry trade show in July, and should be available at dealers in early spring 2011. Good Fishing! Pinnacle1
  15. Thanks for your recent post. At present, Pinnacle does not have such a program for collegiate team anglers. We will take your suggestion into future consideration, however. In the meantime, if you wish to be considered as a Pinnacle field tester or for possible future individual sponsorship, please send your fishing "resume" to: Pinnacle Fishing P.O. Box 61255 Irvine, CA 92602 Thanks again for your interest in Pinnacle, and best of luck in your future tournaments. Pinnacle1
  16. BassfishinMagician: Thanks for your recent problem. We were sorry to learn of the problems you experience with the clutch lever on your Pro X reels. We haven't heard many complaints of this nature, so this appears to be an isolated problem. We will look into matters further, however, to ensure this is the case. Regardless, we want to help your resolve any problems and get you out there fishing with your reels again. Please contact our parts and service manager, Greg Imlay, at customerservice@pinnaclefishing.com. He will help arrange for any necessary repairs as quickly as possible. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience experienced and look forward to being of service. Good Fishing! Pinnacle1
  17. ShootermcBob: Thanks for your recent post. You are correct, our Easy-dial Centrifugal anti-backlash system is featured mostly on our upper-end baitcasting models. This type of system does not incorporate any magnets (as do mag-control braking systems). Instead, they feature a series of brake pins or more accurately "shoes" that push outward and rub against an internal ring within the sideplate to slow down spool rotation during the beginning of the cast (when the spool is rotating at its fastest speed). This effectively prevents the spool from spinning too fast, keeping backlash in check. The difference between Pinnacle's "Easy-dial" system and other centrifugal braking systems, is the ease and simplicity of turning the dial to a desired setting, as opposed to pushing out the individual pins manually to create the amount of braking power you want. Both types of systems require that you remove the sideplate first to make adjustments, but this Easy-dial systems makes the adjustment process a breeze. Hope this explanation helps answer your question. Good Fishing! Pinnacle1
  18. XpressMike: Thanks for your recent post. We were sorry to learn of the problem you experienced. There were a few isolated reports of the slipping you described, which prompted us to look into this issue. We have since corrected the problem. If you are handy with reels, we can send you the necessary replacement parts and you can make the repair yourself, or if you wish, you can send your reel in to our customer service department for warranty repair at no charge. In either case, please contact our parts and service manager, Greg Imlay, at customerservice@pinnaclefishing.com. Greg will be happy to assist you with this. We look forward to being of service. Good Fishing! Pinnacle1
  19. Thanks for the suggestion, Micro. That would be an excellent way to get bassresource.com members more familar with Pinnacle products without providing too much information at once to digest. In the meantime, if you have questions about any existing products within the current lineup, feel free to send them my way. Pinnacle1
  20. Just wanted to thank everyone for the warm welcome posts. It has only been two days since we started the Pinnacle Forum, and the response has been great. Looking forward to interacting with bassresource forum members, answering any Pinnacle-related questions and providing more information about our existing products and the exciting introductions coming in the near future. Also, to answer RobE's question in the original "Welcome" thread about whether I fish...the answer is "Hell Yes"...in a very big way! Everything from largemouth bass to yellowfin tuna...as often as I can!
  21. Bilgerat: Thanks for your recent post. While our entry-level and middle of the line products are carried by Walmart, higher-end Pinnacle products can purchased at Academy, Dicks, Cablela's and other retailers. We are also actively seeking to expand our distribution to include more independent tackle dealers. With the introduction of our new state-of-the-art Tournament Class reels and rods in early 2011, you should begin seeing more Pinnacle products at tackle dealers nationwide, especially dealers that specialize in bass-fishing tackle. You can also purchase any desired Pinnacle tackle online, through the www.PinnacleFishing.com website. Good Fishing! Pinnacle1
  22. CFF 1.5, Thanks for your recent Pinnacle Forum post. You may have used Pinnacle reels in the past without even knowing it, as the company has made private label models for Bass Pro Shops, Gander Mountain and other retailers since the mid-90s. Due to contractual agreements, however, we aren't at liberty to disclose the specific models. Good Fishing! Pinnacle1
  23. It sounds like you're talking about the handle-side sideplate. If that's the case, there is a screw you'll need to remove on the inside of that sideplate. You can access/remove that screw by removing the other sideplate and pulling out the spool. Hope this helps. If you need additional assistance, please feel free to contact Greg Imlay our service manager (customerservice@pinnaclefishing.com) Good Fishing! Pinnacle1
  24. BLee: You really can't beat this reel for the price. The patented "Finesse Wheel" is a great finesse tool for finicky fish, and the 7:1 retrieve is just the ticket for faster presentations. The Vision Slyder is also an all-around reliable, smooth casting fishing machine with an excellent drag system. If you want to pick one up, you can purchase this reel at most Walmart stores or at the Pinnacle website (www.PinnacleFishing.com). Good Fishing! Pinnacle1
  25. NewAngler: Thanks for your recent e-mail. We do have a cranking reel with a 4.7 gear ratio in the works. It's part of the new Tournament Class reel/rod lineup we're developing with our BASS Elite Series pro staffers. This reel, and the rest of this new Pinnacle Tournament Class selection, will be unveiled at the next ICAST tackle trade show. It should be available at dealers in early spring of 2011. This reel is being designed to meet the exact specifications of cranking specialist and Bassmaster Classic champ, Paul Elias. Good Fishing! Pinnacle1
