  2. i own 3 pro angler rods 2 baitcasting and one spinning i belive they are IM7 but i am not positive, anyway i never here of anybody else using them or any reviews on them! i personally think that they are great rods but they only thing that i have expirenced in being a HIGHER quality rod are my st. Croix and brownig salmon and steelhead rods...so i was just wondering if anybody else had ever expirenced these rods...because of the fact that i think they are good rods...or do i have alot more to expirence? in quality of rods...if i love the feel the action and the sensetivity of these rods am i going to absolutly fall in love with somtihng a little priceir and a higher quality..;..??? thanx hillbilly
  3. i am in the mits of decking my tri-hull i wish i had pics so that yall can give me pointers...but...anywayz i am looking to put a TM on the front of it i belive it is 16 ft. long and all fiberglass its a pretty heavy boat but....i can stand at the bow and lift the tounge of the trailer up without to mutch problem...my question is this...what size trolling motor am i going to need to efficianly pull myself around the lake? if at all possible i will upload pics soon to give you an idea of how heavy the boat is...but...is there any general rule of thumb for size of tm on your boat?? and also what would be a good fishfinder to stick in the bow??? thanx hillbilly also...what is a typical size of a livewell in a bass boat...i know the size by looking at one but i am trying to buy one offline and it is just hard to guess, i dont know if 18 gallon would be good enough or 44,14,10 is big enough...so...i am just wondering thankz!
  4. marine grade is so expansive!!! i am decking my trihull this weekend. i live next to a guy that owns a tree service and is very respectable as far as wood goes! he informed me that by using Locus wood does not rot! i havnt done any research on that theory but i am prepared to stand by his word!!! if anything i will re deck it next year!!!! i would amagine that you will have to get ahold of sombody like that to get locus plywood but i dont know home depot might have some!!! good luck and let us know how goes
  5. i just eyeball it, i get more life out of it as well cuz when one side rips or the whole in the worm gets to were the senko can just slide off i take it off and poke a whole a couple cm to the rite and then when that whole gets to big i go to the left or i trig it, and i am very suprised that it doesnt seem to alter my results any, i dont use an o ring(probably cuz i dont know how,and if i did i probably would use it, any body explain to me how i can do this??????????/ hilbilly
  6. i forgot one thing, try going to the lilly pads and throwing a topwater frog, or rat, i throw a moss mouse over the pads and i generate tons of strikes doing this is the late morning, but muddy water might not send them into the cover until later morning, when things really heat up, and reverse this at night as well start with the wacky rig around the docks and rattle traps in the drop offs and then later on move to the topwater, hillbilly
  7. i agree, with a lake with a visability of 2-4 feet is tuff to fish in my neck of the woods (southern michigan), i would sudjust throwing topwater in the morning some sort of popper or a spook over hydrilla or mid depth flats and after it warms up a little bit, the fish are going to move either shallow or deep, arround here it is rare that the fish will stay in the mid depths, of 3-9 foot, i would expeirement with shallow docks and boat lifts first, first of all because it is eisier and second that it will give you a target were the fish should be holding and you can pitch the wacky rig rite on top of them, if no luck there i would try going to a rattle trap or a sinking jerk bait, move out a little farther and throw toward the higher ground and bring it down into them depths of 10-15 feet, many of times when i cant get anything in the tuffer part of the morning, i will move to the drop offs and start picking them apart, bringing that bait down the drop off triggers alot of strikes for me. i hope this helps, this is how i generally fish a mudded lake, good luck!! hillbilly
  8. i have been looking for a while, but havnt found many other stores, i think i am to order about 50-60 dollars worth of stuff, about 3 heads in 1/4,3/8,1/2,5/8, bout 20 indiana, willow, and colarado blades, 10 or so different skirts(what do you recomend)? like you said swivels, clevises, beeds, hopefully that is going to get me started, were is the best place to get multi colored skirts???? thanx hillbilly

  10. hey all, i know there has been alot of post on this topic but non really telling me what i need to get started in making my own spinnerbaits, was really looking forward to doing this but with all the availible options i dont know what to do, i know some of you guys have been making your own baits for a long time, but i was just wondering what exactly i need to get started, anything to wire diamiter, clevises, blades, paint, heads, and what not~!~ or what you recomend starting out with, i went to staminac and i like some of the stuff on there but i am really confused on what to get and what to be looking at, i am basically looking to make 1/2,5/8,and 3/4 oz. i think i should probably start with some painted heads and what not, but if you guys could tell me all the things that you started out with and what you have would be great!~!~! THanx alot for any help at all again, i know nothing about doing this so any thing and everything helps. hillbilly
  11. ok, i kind of have mixed fealings on this one but if you tell me that a race car driver is not an athlete, i will tell you to rethink that!!! it takes so mutch skill to drive that racecar in 90 degree heat for 4 hours that it is not funny, now if you dont think that it gets tuff on those 6-8 hour days,, and that it takes no skill to be out there and pull thru at the end of the day...... i truely look at my self as an "athletic" fisherman so to speak so yes i belive we are classified under atheletes
  12. you guys are awsome thank you every one that helped me out, i didnt relize all the things that are needed to perform a 5 minute speach... i had pulled bits and pieces of info from each of your posts and had a couple visual aids 1 being my fish log, and the other being my tackle box...and i sat in my room tonight and performed my speech infront of my window and when i got done i had 3 minutes and 43 seconds...and i thought i was going to go over my time...but i didnt even have enough to make 5 minutes...lol so i went and printed off the whole post and put every little thing that you guys shared with me and i now have a 5 minute 10 second speech... ;D but now i am looking to make it longer lol(extra Credit if i go 8 mins. ...so if you guys have anymore idea's please post...i am performing my speech on mon. so i do have a little bit more time than i thought. I wish i could tow my boat to school and explain the whole Un-winterizing thing. but my dad is taking the boat in and having a new starter put on it on sat. and it wont be out of the shop until thur. thanx alot every one who helped...I owe this A to you hillbilly
