Folks, Mother Nature will disperse this over time, but what is that(1 year, 5 years, 20 years, 50 years) we don't know.All the dispersants that BP put into our waters, allowed by our gov't. were to put the oil (out of sight out of mind) Where do you think all this oil and dispersant is? As far as reopening the Mississippi drainage and relocating the population, you would have to start north of Indiana, as there are levees way north of there. The French Quarter that was originally settled in New Orleans was not flooded in Katrina, they were smart enough to build on the high ground. Only the land below sea level was flooded. If you believe anything that BP and BP's bought and payed for Gov't tells you, then I've got some rapidly eroding marshland for sale, sounds like you may be interested. In the 40 yr's I've been a resident of this state the Gov't has ignored our plea's for help. All they have done is taken most of the oil revenues and destroyed our coastline, not mine(OUR COAST)-- capitalizing is shouting) I'm sorry for my tirade and ranting, but as a Sportsman of this country, I've heard enough and can only take so many lies. To avoid all these problems a friend and myself started our own club. we are very selective about who we let in the club. We allow kids to fish with their parent, guests to fish, and we have nonboaters. The problem with nonboaters is you can only let so many in, you can't have as many NB's as boaters. As it's worked out, all our NB's have bought boats and now we only have boaters. A great club, never any arguments,no controversy, great friends having a great time on the water, and the reward at the end of the year is an expence paid trip to Toledo Bend every year with payouts from our club funds. Sometimes you have to look around to find the right club. Mike 8-)

Marine grade plywood will last longer than treated wood. if you will look around for a automotive upholstery outlet, they usually carry marine carpet, fastners, glue, and most anything you will need for your project. mike 8-)

All lure companies know that you only have to catch the fisherman, not the fish. Except Big O, his baits do catch fish. But seriously, lure color to me is more about matching the conditions, bright day=light colored lures and cloudy dark days or nite= dark colored lures. When bass look at a floating rat or frog all they see is the bottom of the lure. My floating rats and frogs are all either black or white. On my swimming frogs I believe different colors do come into play, especially when pausing them in holes to let them sink, then the fish can see the whole frog. Mike 8-)

SOCKEY, YES YOU CAN FISH UNIVERSITY LAKE, IT'S STOCKED REGULARLY BY THE STATE. AS A MATTER OF FACT THE STATE RECORD LARGEMOUTH WAS HELD BY THIS LAKE BACK IN I THINK 1997. AROUND 15 POUNDS. UP TO 30 # CATS AND SOME VERY LARGE BREAM. THERE ARE SOME MORE LAKES, THE CAPITAL LAKE I THINK IS STILL OPEN. BUT SEEMS AS I REMEMBER IT'S CLOSED DUE TO CONTAMINATION, MERCURY I THINK. GO DOWN ON ANY SAT. AND ASK THE OTHER FISHERMEN ABOUT OTHER PLACES TO BANK FISH. MIKE 8-)
