  1. This is what I have so far: Al Kimsey (me) Boater Tallydude Boater JRSmith80 Boater Kansasbassfisher80 Non-boater MrScrogg Boater Trytofish Boater Right now we are talking Butler State Lake launching at around 7AM on Oct 12. Thanks to everyone who responded. Looking forward to meeting all and having a great day on the water.
  2. That's true! So far we are up to five (counting you). My calendar is set. The only thing we have to worry about is the water level and the weather. Can I have your email address? Mine is posted above in this thread.
  3. I suggest we try to get started at Butler on the 12th of Oct. If Butler is too low to fish (water not deep enough to fish the jetties), we go to Howard (Polk Daniel). If this date is bad for anyone, let me know and we'll try another. I'm sending this in a PM to everyone who posted interest in this thread. If I can get email addr from everyone, I will start an email thread so we can stay in touch about it. We will have to be willing to have non-boaters accompany, since I'm sure some of the respondents will be shore fisherman. I'm certainly willing to have someone go with me.. my email is alk4024th@yahoo.com

  5. Did this get dropped?? I'd like to see it happen in October sometime. Just for openers I'd say someplace like Polk Daniel (in Howard) or Winfield just to get together first time.
  6. Don't know about that one. I belong to the Winfield Bass Club and it's a good, relaxed atmosphere club. It's knda small these days and we could use some new members. The next meeting will be Thursday, Sep 5th before fishing at Wilson County State Fishing Lake (over east off Hwy 39 around Buffalo) on Saturday the 7th. Give me a PM if you might be interested I'll give you the specifics. It's a Single member club where we draw for non boaters if we have any (usually one or two). Al
  7. Although I'm not in Wichita, I would love to do something like this. I live in Ark City and fish with the Winfield Bass Club. If you get something going please send me an email alk4024th@yahoo.com. I can see if I can get some of the guys from Winfield to attend if we get enough notice. Thanks, Al
  8. Which lake is the Coffey County? Redmond or Wolf Creek?
  9. On buying a replacement: I'm from Ks and it's really hard to find anything worth owning for less than $4500 here. I looked for months to find a pretty good 17' Champion in pretty good shape for $3200 which is about all I could afford. I think it depends on what the market's like where you live and how far you are willing to go to find an acceptable boat at the price you want to pay. Save your money and get something you won't have to spend a lot of $$$$$ on after you buy it.
  10. I like using a Gene Larew Salt Craw. You can trim it as necessary for the size of the hook on the SB. They are packed with salt and usually get really hard strikes. Also been foolin' around with Tiki Crawdudes. The scent in those things is awesome.
  11. I belong to a very small independant club and we have a website where our rules are posted. You are welcome to go to WinfieldBassClub.Com and look at our rules. They work well for us and the club has been going for over 20 years. I think the other suggestions are great especially the one above about doing the research about belonging to BASS or FLW. Anyway, just thought you might like a look.
  12. I'm goin' with Glenn on this one. WHITE SPINNERBAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Only one in a long list of how inconsiderate people can be. It's a shame the guy couldn't have allowed you to fish your "spot" and gone somewhere else when he realized you were there.
  14. I couldn't agree more!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Looks to me like it almost wants to go at the side where you drew the rectangle. In any case with a boat that size and with a depth like that one has, I would think your challenge would be ruttering it. Seems to me it would be like those 2 man FG boats with the motor in the front. I don't know, just my 2 cents worth.

Hope you have a great year. Keep us posted about how it goes. Especially interested in your results and the overall experience of fishing from the back of the boat. What are the attitudes of the different boaters?

Nice site! Good member pics and good club info!! I belong to a small local club here in Kansas. There are some similarities in our clubs. Just for giggles, I was wondering how your schedule runs. For instance we fish every other Sat from the 1st weekend in Apr till Oct (15 tournaments). At the end of the year we have a banquet where we all get together with our wives and swap stories and eat a good meal. How does your schedule go? Thanks, Al
  19. Thanks for those two vids, SoFlaBassAddict. I watched them both and they were great!! It's cold and rainy in Ks now so I'm doin' more WISHIN' than FISHIN'.

  22. Keep posting, you'll get there. There's plenty of interesting stuff to comment about on this board.
  23. Kind of made you want to scream "PUT THE TRAILER IN THE WATER".
  24. BPS has a Wally Marshall reel that holds about 120 yds of 6 lb monofilament for less than $50 (the last time i checked). I use it for throwing small big-o and other lightweight cranks and non-weighted plastics. I have it on a 6' BPS rod and I can throw a small big-o about 25-30yds with it.
