Smallmouth Replica Mount ? Which looks better?
Which of these two fiberglass reproductions looks more realistic and lifelike? They are both great reproductions, I think. Option A: Option B: Thanks in advance for your input.

Smallmouth experts please help
Some of my biggest smallmouth caught at night have come from sandy, beach areas. In general, I look for rock and gravel while targeting smallmouth, but during low light conditions, beaches or sand flats are also good bets.

Heaviest Smallmouth...
My heaviest is 6-4, caught in April 2008 on a soft jerkbait in Massachusetts. Water temp was 57-58 degrees and she came out of about 6' of water.

4" tubes too big for smallies
My preferred length is 3.25 to 3.5", but 4" tubes will catch plenty of smallmouth, as will 2.5".

Never fished for smallies
I would bring tubes, super flukes and a #2 or #3 silver Mepps Aglia spinner. Those three baits shouls serve you well.

New Personal Best and Some Other Spring Smallmouth
Thanks guys. The biggest one went 6-4. Oh, that other boat wasn't crowding us. They are friends of ours who came over to see the smallmouth before I released her.

New Personal Best and Some Other Spring Smallmouth
I was fortunate to get out and fish for smallmouth a handful of times this spring and caught a new personal best as well as a bunch of other nice ones, all pre-spawn. All were caught on soft jerkbaits, tubes and spider grubs in Massachusetts. Here are a few photos. And the big girl:

A Very Good Day FOR BROWN BASS
I had the pleasure of getting out with DSouth yesterday on a pond near Cape Cod. Left the house at about 4:45 a.m. and met Dan around 6:15. We were on the water by about 7:30. Always great to spend a day on the water with Dan. Very odd day weather wise with showers, bright sun, shifting winds, 15 degree drops in temperature etc. Water temps were 50ish. We primarily used suspending jerkbaits in 5' of water to 20' of water. Dan caught some giant white perch that were pushing 2 pounds. I had a few like that as well in addition to 6 smallmouth and 1 largemouth. All the smallmouth bass came on suspending jerkbaits, except one that was caught on a grub. The Largemouth was caught in about 3' of water on a Super Fluke Jr. Here are some photos of the smallies. The first smallmouth, a heavy 3, about 3-12 caught on a gold jerkbait: The next one, same bait, also 3 and change: Another one on a jerkbait, this one went 4-4 and was the largest of the trip: Another 4 pound smallie that was as round as a pumpkin. Caught on a deep diving husky jerk in about 20'. Thanks for the trip Dan. Hope we can get out again soon. I have a feeling you will be holding some big bass in tomorrow's report.

Best Bass Fishing
I'd have to say Maine for total weight of bass boated in a day. You'd be amazed at the numbers of bass over 2.5 pounds you can catch in one day in Maine. CA for pure size.

Good Tackle Shops in the San Diego area?
My name is Mike. I am a bass fisherman from Connecticut. I'll be on a business trip to San Diego in early April and would love to check out a few tackle shops while I'm there. I am looking for swimbaits and other non traditional tackle. Thanks in advance for any recommendations. Huskybass
