Can you run 2 Lowrance 520c units off the same antenna??
It seems to me all you will need is a 15 ft network extension ($40). If you were running 2 independent antennas, you should already have the required Tees, 120 ohm terminators, and short extensions from the Tees to the units.

skimmer transducer
What I prefer to use for mounting skimmers to trolling motors is the actual metal transom bracket that comes with the skimmer. All you do is bend the ends of the bracket up (where the screws would normally go) so a hose clamp can slide thru. Use the provided bolt and washers to mount transducer in bracket. Works great.

Can you run 2 Lowrance 520c units off the same antenna??
Yes, all you need to do is link both units and the antenna (either LGC 3000 or 4000) via the NMEA 2000 network. Your antenna is linked to one unit via the network already. You just need to run additional network Ts and extensions to the other unit.

Fishfinder - best value
No doubt, the X125/135s are great monochrome sonar units, but they have been recently discontinued. Some retailers will still have them. The Mark and Elite Series have replaced these units and are currently shipping. Specifications on this series of units can be found here: http://www.lowrance.com/Products/Marine/Mark-Elite-Series/

Lowrance Elite & Mark Series
The Elite 5X is a very functional and affordable unit, very good buy for the price. Menus are simplier than the HDSs for straightforward, turn the PWR on operation.

Where Did You Mount Your LSS-1?
Thanks Todd. Is this the Todd Driscoll that works for the parks and wildlife up at rayburn? Hey Jack, that's me. Beginning this month, Lowrance has me monitoring numerous forums, helping out with what I can.

Jack, either place you mention will work, but I prefer the rod locker.

Question for the sonar experts
+1 Very good advice. The ethernet is required to share a single ducer and the X125 is not compatible. As Jig Man said, just select the stop chart feature on your 522. Upgrading the front unit with an HDS model would enable ducer sharing via ethernet, and allow folks in the back to see what you see up front while fishing.

Trolling motor transducer wire mounting clips.
+1 on the wire ties, clean appearance, functional, and best of all dirt cheap

Depth finder spliced into Trolling motor power
Odds are you will have interference. I install a lot of units, and I use cut pieces of extension cord for power wires, keeps units powered independent of other electrical devices. Cut a piece long enough to go from back to front, and wire the unit directly to the battery. Be sure to include the appropriate fuse link for protection, installed at the battery.
