Smallie from last night...
Thanks! Got em' using a JSR7 (perch) in about 10-12' of murky water. Also got a nice walleye using a gold jointed rebel. 1st eye I ever caught from shore.

Your fishing flaws
For sure patience is my biggest flaw. Being afraid to lose gear by casting into an iffy situation is probably my other one. Some of the biggest ones I landed last year by ripping through vegetation or throwing dangerously close to structure.

Learning to play the guitar
My 2 cents. Solid advice. I've played guitar for 20+ years. I didn't take lessons until I was almost 30 though... As for people saying acoustic or electric. I say buy the best value, quality instrument that you can afford and play music that you want to play, not what people want you to play. If you have the passion and drive to learn a particular style than make sure your studies and practice reflect that choice.

what line do you prefer
I change between mono and braid depending on water clarity.... I was using Suffix quite a bit (the green is easy to see) but recently switched to Power Pro which is smoother and casts really nicely but is invisible to my older eyes. For mono I'm using Cajun 10LB right now but I don't have a favorite. Transoptic was meh (user error)...

pflueger arbor spinning reel
I have the 7440... No complaints so far. I've used various types of braid, fluro and mono on it with good results. So now I have the primary spool with PLine CX premium in 12LB and the spare with 20LB braid. I did have some problems with transoptic line but sadly I think that was 'user' error.

Mayweather/Mosley
I like Shane Mosely and he has a chance but I'm gonna have to give the edge to Mayweather. Mayweather is a great defensive fighter and a really good counterpuncher... These are problems for Shane. Mayweather by decision.

Berkley Trilene TransOpticTM Monofilament - opinions
I have considered this as well. I'm a bit of a newb equipment wise. When I respooled with PLine I used the hot water technique. Next time I switch to mono I'll update my post. Thanks

Berkley Trilene TransOpticTM Monofilament - opinions
Pfueger Arbor 7740... Its been great so far with braid and other 12 lb mono. Its new so it's tough for me to say. http://www.pfluegerfishing.com/products/products.php?p=83 Its a great concept... Maybe in 8 or 10 lb it would have less memory.

TGIF - Funny thought of the day...
Adam and Eve had an ideal marriage. He didn't have to hear about all the men she could have married, and she didn't have to hear about the way his mother cooked. -OR- If your dog is barking at the back door and your wife is yelling at the front door, who do you let in first? The dog - you know he'll shut up when he comes in. LOL - Happy Friday

Berkley Trilene TransOpticTM Monofilament - opinions
Well I gave this a try and to be honest... I hate it. I bought a spool of 12 pound for my spinning reel and this line has the worse memory of any line of used in years. Birds nest, slinkey line presentations you name it. Maybe I got a bad batch??? Other opinions on the subject. I switched back to PLine...

Favorite baits for riversmallmouth
Around here perch patterns seem to be a favorite for smallies. I have a bandit 200 in perch that I nailed a nice smallie and a patrolling Northern... My son also nailed a 3 pounder on a jointed shad rap in perch and one of my buddies got a 2 pounder on a little Xrap in perch with a white feather tail. Guess they like perch.

Pictures of some of my 2010 Smallmouth so far!
There was a wide range of water temps on the largemouth days, It ranged from 48-57 degrees. I was finding them in the 51-57 degree range and they were pretty much tight to the bank in about four foot of water. I caught a few off the bank in about six foot of water too. They were also located mostly on the heath shorelines and if there were a few rocks mixed in those heaths those were the really hot shorelines. Thanks for the info. Bagged a couple smallies at lunch... I'll be back at this evening with my 7 year old son. Real lazy retrieve with a heavy pause was needed for the bite.

Wow. What a great fish.

pickeral bites?
Nice fish! I like the big Northerns... The little ones are a pain.

pickeral bites?
I catch Mr Esox by the boatloads up this way. I keep my hands away from the teeth whenever possible. I find that proper handling of them allows you to avoid most incidents.

Awesome pics! Thanks for showing your lures as well. What was the average water temp & depth where you were finding our bucketmouth friends? 26 is quite nippy.

Greetings from Vermont!
Thanks! Been lurking for a bit. Can't wait for the bass to start biting in Northern VT... Season opens on the weekend but with constant rain & temps in the 40's its a bit slow. I mostly fish from short although plan on doing extensive kayak and canoe fishing once it gets a bit warmer.

Greetings from Vermont!
Hello from the Green Mountain State. Just getting ready to start my fishing adventures again this year. I spend most of my day looking at a computer screen but I fish whenever I can. Water is in the 40's now and soon the bass will be biting.
