Single Hook On Crankbaits.
Well they have been fishing single hook baits in salt water since the beginning of time. They still fish them that way. I hear you don't even really need treble hooks and you will be fine. I have never tried it myself. Well except putting weedless wacky rig hooks on a popmax so I could fish it anywhere. I still caught a bunch of fish with only single hooks on it though.

Fluoro Issues
I would have to second the Tatsu. I would also have to say it is more manageable and casts better then any copoly or mono I use. Not to mention it last a really really long time. I know everyone says any kink bend or knick in flouro and it will just break. That doesn't really seem to be true with Tatsu from my experience. I have a reel with some on it that is going on close to a year. Its not as great as it once was but it is not bad either by any means. I have kinda gotten to the point where if my line gets weird and starts acting up and I don't like it then off or goes. Tatsu is setting records in my books. Also you should always fill a casting reel with the line coming off the top of the spool.

What Storage Trays Do You Use And Why?
Mostly Plano 3700's and some 3600's but I have all size of boxes. I also use strorage boxes or handgun cases on occasion for swimbaits. There are 2 different kinds of Plano boxes. There are ones where the latch has ridges across it and then ones without and a square hole in the middle of the latch. The ones wih the square hole are way way better quality then the other ones. They come is all sizes like that.

Jigs, Will You Only Buy Hand Tied?
I use both I guess. I am not sped picky about it really. There are wire tied and there are ones held with bands. There are also interchangeable ones with colars. I do like some collared skirts but it depends. There are different levels on quality on those for sure. For example the skirts that come on a zman chatterbait only have one layer of skirt and are very thin. Now the collared ones I get from my local shop have as much skirt material as you could ever want and are very nicely put together. They are also like $1 each or 5 for $4 for them but they have tons of great color patterns there and you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.

Was I Expecting Too Much From A 180 Dollar Reel?
As for the reel needing to have the brakes set really tight. I assume you mean the tension knob. That is a good thing and kinda a measure of quality. That means the spool starts up quick and spins like a champ. Casting distance doesn't really mean much. Basically all reels can cast relatively the same distance. My lews cast just a far as my daiwas and some cost twice the price of the other. I even have a black max that casts just as far as the lews or daiwas but the black max is a total pos and not even on the same level with those other reels. There is a reason they are $30 and Tourny pros and zillions are $200 or more.

Frog Fishing
Well I do have a opinion. Bold text and huge font is unnecessary. You don't "need" a specific rod at all and the 1% catch rate is just plain ridiculous. As for buzzfrogs one of my favorite ways to fish them is on a glass rod. Basically a cranking stick and I use a spinning rod usually. I catch tons of fish on that setup with no issue.

Frog Fishing
I mean yea I guess if you fishin pads with some gnarly stalks that are sure thick it might be a issue using 20 or 30# braid. 30 is the max I put on a spinning reel and only 1 has 30 right now. Most are 20 or 10#. Even if it does get wrapped as long as it straight braid and 30# you might be able to rip it out of the pads. I would think your line will snap before you were to brake a rod or something. The only thing that sucks is spinning does have the cranking power like casting.

What's The Best Baitcasting Reel For Pitching And Flipping?
I am also interested in how you find it a hinderence. I can't imagine any reason I would think the reels I have with it hinder me.

Frog Fishing
I find it hard to believe that was all because you used a medium power rod. How many do you think you would of hooked with a standard frog rod? Like 5 or 6? It also could of been one of those days. There has been plenty of days where I get hit after hit but they are just swatting at it and you were never going to hook them. It just happens sometimes.

Mgx Xtreme Birds Nest..help!
I am fairly decent caster but am always learning. Last year I decided take all the brakes on my reels to basically the bare minimum and force myself to fish like that for control. On a good reel with nice clean bearings it's amazing how far you can cast with the tiniest little flick. I can get the same distance as I did before but with a 10th of the effort. I always fished with no tension on my reels but now I also only use 1 brake pin on. Most people probably cast way to hard and use way to much breaking to compensate for it.

Dropshot Knot
I haven't used a non spinshot hook on a long time but I always used a palomar prior to using spin shots. That was back when I actualy tied palomar knot though. Now I would probably try to find a different knot as I am not a fan of palomars. The spinshot are the deal though. They have that weird bend on them and when I hook fish it is realy hard to get the hook out.

Insert Repair
i have actually slid a guide out of the wrap before. I just slid the new guide right in the little hole where the old one was with a little bit of glue and it's good to go. I actually just did this again not to long ago on a pos mojo bass spinning rod my brother wanted fixed. If you can get it out and leave the wrap in good shape then your all set.

Frog Fishing
When I started fishing again I fished hollow body frogs a bunch on a M spinning rod and 30# braid because all my gear had been stolen and it's all I had. I wasn't really fishing super thick matts but I caughts tons of fish. I was also fishing spro frogs and those are the stiffest of all frogs. Just because your supposed to use ( X ) or that's what you heard doesnt mean it can't be done. The only way to find out is to try really. What do you really have to loose.

Damiki Air Frog
It's not because it's a plastic topwater. I have no problem hooking fish on any other buzz frog or whatever it may be. It's just the top toads that have me trouble. I tried a ton of different rigging methods and never really settled on one I thought worked well for me.

Rods With Broken Off Tips: Still Useable?
You can probably fix the broken eye. If you can somehow loosen up the wrap around the eye you can slide it out maybe. If you have another eye or can take one off another rod just slide it back on the wrap and throw some superglue on it and you should be fine.

What's The Best Baitcasting Reel For Pitching And Flipping?
It kinda depends what rods I have with me I guess. But I like using a older crucial with the foam grips. I don't do a lot of pitching much and if I do it is more then 1/4. I do little modified type roll casts instead of pitching. It's easier for me to get distance like that and I can skip doing the same cast.

Getting A Bullet Weight Snug Against A Plastic Bait
If you don't have bobber stops or some kind of peg you can use a few strands of a skirt. After the weight is on your line run a piece of mono through the weight and back but leave a loop. Put a couple pieces of skirt in the loop and pull it through with the mono.

Damiki Air Frog
For some reason it is very hard to me to hook fish on a top toad. I have tried like every hook imaginable too. Double and single hooks of all sizes. I am not even sure the best way to rig them. I seem to do best with just a single screw lock hook.

Poppin Frog Vs Walking Frog
I usually throw a popping frog anymore. They are basically the same as a normal from except you can also pop them so they are kinda better in a way.

Ultralight Recommendations
I currently use a 6'6" UL. It is the longest one I have ever owned an it's great. I don't ubderstand why you would pick a short rod to begin with. Unless for some reasob you casting area is very linited and it was impossible to use a longer rod.

Whats Going On With E21 & Carrot Stix??
Last weekend at Gander Mountin I had the guy working there try to convince me that I should buy a carrot stik. He was like following me around telling me how great they are and that's all he fishes. That's fine and to each their own. They could be a great rod but they are definetly not on my list of rods I am interested in. I actually had to tell him to give it up and just go away. It was weird.

Joining Braided Lines....
If you filled the spool from what it is at now would you hit the connection knot? If so then just strip off some of the braid on there and add more. There is nothing wrong with using braid for backing. I have a few reels with braod backing and it has advantages over mono ect with it being lighter. You spool starts up with less effort and makes casting lighter stuff easier.

Drop Shot On A Baitcaster?
Well you have a Pixy. Most guys who are going to drop money like that for a reel are not going to be buying a Pixy. It's just easier and cheaper to go spinning. I can go grab a president for $50 and pick any number of different rods and w ready to go.

Ultralight Recommendations
I know Fenwick makes some UL rods in the eagle series. They have a 5'6" that my brother has and They have a 7' I have been looking at. I know they are not 6' but they are fairly inexpensive and pretty good rods.
