  1. I've fished it once. I have a 14 foot tin boat on trailer and it was interesting getting it in and out. The 'launch' is the sandy area of a road side culvert. I needed to pull parallel to the road and kind of curve my car and boat to get it in. There is no parking and not much room for roadside parking even. I actually had to back my trailer into a hiking trail get off the road! The fishing is ok. I got about a dozen dinks on the weed edges on crankbaits. They just treated for weeds the week I went though that might have stopped the big gurls from feeding.
  2. Wow. What determination to get out there Shane. I've got cabin fever bad right now but everytime I think about going to the river, I step out, that cold air hits my face, and I turn right back around!
  3. Anybody know how fishing is in Gumpas pond in Hudson and if there is a launch?
  4. Did the NY sporting goods store sell them as bait or someting?
  5. If your into it, catch them. Off Canal street in Nashua, jump in the canal by BAE with a dip net and flip some rocks. In about an hour you'll have more than enough for a days fishing.
  6. Awesome fish! I love that place. Were there beds there? She looks spawned out.
  7. this is one of my favorite local spots too. if it makes you feel any beter, the fishing at otternic pond in hudson has improved quite a bit since they did the chemical treatment last year. i hope they dont mess this up. That's good to hear that the fishing is better in otternic after only a year. I've heard they blocked off the boat ramp there. Is that true?
  8. http://www.nashuatelegraph.com/news/727127-196/project-to-clean-up-milfoil-in-hollis.html Just saw this in the paper and thought I'd share. I have mixed emotions about this one. It's one of my favorite holes and I have a feeling fishing will not be the same there afterwards.
  9. Great fish Jawstraw! Love the fight smallies give. Is that Massabesic? I was wondering if they were on bed yet.
  10. Thanks for the info on Lovewell. Might have to go there again soon to get a mess of crappie!
  11. Welcome!!! This is a great link with a lot of local guys on. I haven't fished Lovewell in probably a dozen years but even back then it was awesome for slabs. I don't remember a boat launch on it though, I think I carried my canoe in back then. Is there one now?
  12. Glad you had some luck Tom. The milfoil will be in before you know it. Thats when I do my best ;D... Well I hope. :-/ I was walking the canals yesterday morning and were seeing bass along the edges paired up and just starting to make nests. Some were in less than 6" of water. I was wishing I had a rod in hand. How far in the canal can you take a boat from Mill pond? I have a little aluminum and it'd be fun to cruise up there.
  13. Thanks for sharing! That was freaken hilarious! I think my IQ just went down 20 points!
  14. [quote author=58534B4146405345320 I just wanted everyone to know that the NH get together still has plenty of room for anyone that wants to join us fishing on Friday May 14, 2010. Please check out the thread if you want to come. No fee or anything like that, but we may decide to do a lunker pool if folks want to. I wish I can go. Darn work getting in the way of fishing again. >
  15. Flints in Hollis. No gas motors allowed on it so it got pretty tricky when the wind started blowing yesterday
  16. Took a quick trip out from 2:30 to 5:30 to a local pond. Was slightly windy with on and off showers. Air temp was probably 45 50 degrees. No water temps as didn't have the depth finder. Started off fishing a drop off at a corner of the pond we've had luck in the past in about 6-8' fow. I was throwing the bbz-1 jr wicked perch with no luck. This was the third time out with the big swimbait rod with not so much as a sniff so far. My buddy started to pick up some decent bass and picks on a little storm 3 suspending swimbait. I couldn't let him get too far ahead of me, so I put down the big rod and started throwing the same as him. (I couldn't let him have all the braggin rights.) I quickly picked up a few pickerel and moved on. Next we fished a brushy shoreline in some flats. I was skipping a jig in the brush and picked up a pick in there. DW is now killing the perch on a little spinner. IT's BAIT! I quickly pick up the wicked perch again and cast out into the flat. No sooner than three casts inFISH ON! First swimbait fish ever! Wasn't a bass but I'll take it. A few casts later, still casting into the flat, I cast out and let it sit for a second while I made an adjustment to the trolling motor. Pick up the rod again and think I'm on bottom. Until it starts moving! After a quick fight, it's in the boat and at just under 4 pounds (3pds 14oz) is the biggest fish I've caught in a while! I am officially hooked on swimbaiting! What a confidence booster it is to catch a couple good fish on the swimbait.
  17. Horseshoe pond used to be really good about a dozen years or so ago. My unofficial personal best is out of there. Not anymore though. The last few times I was there got the big skunker. Naticook is my confidence place. If I need to feel a fish at the end of my line, then I go there. Not many big ones the rats are definitely plenty in there. Anyone going out this weekend. I'm contemplating going out sunday...W and W permitting. (Weather and Wife) ;D
  18. Hey All Just found this site and wanted to introduce myself. I live in Nashua and fish almost anywhere in southern NH as well as a few places by Hooksett (where I work). I love fishing the jig and soft plastics, but just getting into big swimbaits this year. Anytime anyone wants to go fishing just let me know! I'll be out most weekends! I was on Naticook last weekend. I worked the big swimbait most of time and only got one swing and miss with it. Switched over to a stickbait at the end of the trip and quickly got a few pickeral and a bass to get rid of the skunk. Anyways, I look forward to reading more local reports and maybe meeting some of you. Wayne
