  1. Yes, but it has to be "sand and fill" primer, the primer is very thick and it will fill in low areas with multiple coats and is very, very durable, a little on the not so cheap side but not bad, it's well worth the investment.
  2. Good post !!! Let us know which waters you decide to fish and we can help a little more.
  3. To fill the little holes you can use a 2 part epoxy, like JB weld, it's cheap and does well for small repairs, you will however have to put something in the hole to close the gap like a peice of wax paper and stuff it tight, or the epoxy will just settle at the bottom or run clean through the hole, leave about an inch between the top of the boat surface and the wax paper you inserted into the hole, it still may settle a small amount and leave a small dimple, you can overfill the hole a small amount to compensate for that since you have to sand that area anyway. As far as the depressions go you can use sand and fill primer, this will level out the surface by applying several coats over the effected areas if needed, spray each coat, let dry untill it gets tacky, then repeat for each coat over the surfaces that need extra filling, once dry all you need to do is sand to a finished surface.
  4. Bondoo, no, it will give up under the constant flexing a boat has, can you get a pic of the holes and let us see them? are they large or small? As far as the hole you are going to create, there should be no issues with that, especially with where you have it marked out to cut.
  5. Truly great post flippin and pitchin !!! Far too often I have seen guys and gals at my favorite lake come up empty handed, while it is a great fishery it can be tough. As the seasons change, so must your habits, far too often we tend to wanna stick way to close to shore lines and fish the great looking cover, while all the time thinking...man there has just got to be some big fish around here. While beating the banks early in the morning can and will produce some really good information, it tends to lull us into a false sence of thinking the fish are going to be there all day. I was that way when I fished Anna here in Va. some 20 years ago, it took me 5 years to convince myself to look harder. So 15 years ago I started a log, that log turned into a journal, which I think is now a book, lol, the season and water temps now drive the way I fish that lake, I think you can call it whatever you like, and zoneing an area is a pretty dang good description of what we need to do more often to find the links that we so often miss out on.
  6. Nice job Justin !!! Glad to hear you are having some success !!! Thanx for the tip too !!
  7. Honestly, I think that would be a little overkill, those little holes are there for a reason, it allows the fabric to expand and contract as needed. So my suggestion would be to not do something like that. There is a solution that will help though, you can buy Eagle One spay on wax ( clear wax coating ) that will help keep your wrap in good condition and help protect it from stains, that will help more than anything else that I can think of, or at least that is the most inexpencive way to help take good care of it.
  8. They already supply outboard engines, and they pretty much have everything else in the marketplace throughout the U.S. Is it just me or is anyone else happy to buy American made products? I don't want to sound negitive here and there is nothing wrong with compitition from abroad, but it seems we have sold and given enough of this country to everyone else. I for one am happy to have an American made product, not just my boat but my baits as well, Thank you Basstracker and Strike King !!!!
  9. To me nothing works as good as a Norman, but if you can get a good deal on L.C.'s it's worth the purchace.
  10. AWESOME !!!!! Looks like a really sweet ride for a helicopter landing pad lol !!! Dude, it looks like a ton of room on top of that platform, good luck and be safe !!!
  11. My suggestion would be to slow down and use a C-rig/ swimtail worm or lizard, or a jig presentation, the branch that extends northward or appears to extend northward,( the branch by the dam that goes upward and too the right ) would be something I would try first.
  12. I'm not much on wraps, although the advertisement on that one looks pretty inviting to say the least !! The reason I don't care for wraps, they are full of little pin holes, that can make it difficult to clean the scum lines if you put in on dirty or stained waters, unless you clean it right away, if you were to know me, I am not at all lazy, but at the same time, I don't do any more than I have to do either lol. Sounds like it would be close to an even trade though, a little labor on a winch verses a wrap for your boat.
  13. Really great story congrats to you and your daughter !!!! I love taking my girls fishing too, one of the first times I had ever had my youngest daughter on the boat she pulled in a 5lb striper on light tackle, using a stinking live worm for goodness sake, man I was just waiting for something to go SNAP !!! lol. There is no better time to be a dad than the times when they catch their first fish, no matter how big or small, the look on their face and the few and far between smiles says it all, and we get a moment to last forever. Nice job dad !!!
  14. WOW DUDE !!! HELLOFACATCH !!! Congrats, I would have like to have seen you jump in after her though and come up with it...that had to be priceless !!!
  15. MONO? WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? LOL !!! Oh well, everyday is a school day, take it, learn from it, and move on, the reason why it broke was most likely from the strong hook set, then the fight, you may have tried a little to hard to get the fish to you instead of letting it play out a little.
  16. I wanted to wish all of our southeast friends a happy Memorial day !!! All of you be safe, please keep our thoughts and prayers with our troops, remember our fallen brave, and give thanks for those who have fought and are currently fighting to keep our nation safe and giving us the freedoms we enjoy today. To the armed forces men and women, Thank you for all that you do and have done, may God bless you all and keep you safe !!! Have a great weekend and a safe holiday !!!
  17. Now tell us how you really feel LOL !!!
  18. Have a great weekend and a safe and happy holiday, by the way, with all of the things I have to get done before next week, I would gladly trade places with you LOL !!!
  19. Most all lakes do have them, most all man made impoundments will as well. It's not just the creek or creek channel thats good fishing, there are several factors that make a channel or creek good to fish. 1 is structure, does it offer good humps, or drop offs that the fish can use to navigate and stage. 2 Does the channel or creek offer cover, the best channels will have feeder creeks and good cover such as plant growth, lilly pads grasses of different kinds, lay downs, vertical timber, boat docks. 3 Does it offer a good point close to a drop off or creek bed, the point will maybe have some stumps or some sort of grass that will make it more attractive to bass at the very edge of the drop off, or it could be a rocky point that makes it attractive. Any or all of these combinations will make a good channel to fish, but none are any good unless there is forage.
  20. LOL !! Well I hope the 2nd half of the day goes quicker than the first. I too find Anna the same as you do with SML, maybe someday we can join up and show each other some good spots. Thanx for the tip, if I plan a weekend I will wait till then.
  21. X2 Very quick adjustments, no retieing knots to add or subtract length, really nice piece of equiptment.
  22. Thanx a ton, I hope your outing is fun as well, let us know how it goes. Good luck and be safe !!! I have wanted to fish SML for a long time, and Claytor too, I finally have the chance to go to Claytor mid june, going to spend a week there, but I hope to visit SML this summer or fall.
  23. Same here, I have been so busy with work, I have not been in over a year, Friday the 1st will be my first time on the water, I am taking my youngest daughter to a Friday night tournament over at Anna, and like you I am pretty excited too !!
  24. Very nice post Justin !!
  25. Nice job Sam !!!! Congrats on being a grandad...again, hope all goes well, please pass along well wishes to the family and let us know when she gets here !!
