The strike...it gets the old heart pounding !!

I started late in life , I was 33 yrs old when the bug got me.I started watching fishing shows on tv and started getting bass magazines.Im the onlyone in my family who enjoys fishing.

Ive caught bass on a standup jig & crawler , worked slow in cold weather low 30s.Let the jig stand on the bottom 10 seconds , then lift and move it a few ft...repeat.

I dont sight fish...I leave the spawns alone...I enjoy the suprise of not seeing him until he is hooked.

It was my 1st LMB , only 17 " but it was awesome.I was alone in a rowboat on a large lake near my home.It was a warm overcast day.I was getting ready to call it quits , made my last few casts , on the 3rd cast he struck !! felt like I was struck by lightning , the line went thight , my heart stopped beating...then he went airborn , it was the most beautiful sight , Ive been in luv ever since.

When I first started fishing bass , I got 5+ lb lmb on.I was using a closed face reel , didnt know how to work the drag.I tryed to force him in , and he broke the lure , it still bothers me...lol

Fishing is the most enjoyment you can have...you dont need motivation , get out there and live my brother !!

I luv spinners in my favorite pond...there are large northern pike and bass , so spinners are great producers.

I fish for enjoyment...not compition , so I mix it up. :-/

He is living the dream , 4 sure !! 8-)

Try a lil slugo ( black )...it works for me in , or near the pads. Good luck !!

Tip up 4 me , always...I luv to see em jump !!!! I dont lose many bass that I hook , almost never. Sometimes I get excited and snap the lure away b4 they have it...lol :-[

I shore fish most of the time at a few nice ponds near my home.If I go to a lake Ill rent a Rowboat for $8 , for the entire day.

White spinnerbait worked slow , late afternoon works good.
