  1. and this is the last one I caught. Not sure of weight, but had good fight.
  2. The a.m. bass put up one energetic fight. Constantly jumping, all the way to the boat. Went out this p.m. for a few hours and caught 2. The first one was again, cruising shallows, bagged him with an x-rap, not jerking but slow retrieving. The second one was decent. Put up a good fight. I found him on the opposite side of the lake (not far from the boat launch) in relatively shallow water near isolated cover (a huge, submerged rock). He took the x-rap. Still no pickerel or perch. I remember those things getting annoying but I haven't seen any this year. Or smallmouth's for that matterl Interesting. PS My girlfriend takes the best pictures!
  3. It could have been an orchard. It would make sense. I know its man-made. I went out for a couple of hours the a.m. and caught a little guy. Again, cruising the shallows, gravel/rock, taking a senko.
  4. One dink at Baxter Lake - only catch of the day I haven't seen any beds but they seem to be cruising the shallows (pre-spawn?) They hit the soft plastics worked real slow but won't touch my spinnerbait. I'm going to work a jig, jerkbait and more soft plastics today.
  5. Its a small lake, but it seems that every bass is large. I never really catch any dinks. I've fished that hole for many years and I remember catching pickerel like crazy, now I hardly ever see any.
  6. .......forgot to add the pics.
  7. Here's one that my girlfriend caught yesterday at Baxter Lake. It measured 18". It was the only catch all day but a real nice one.
  8. I already have both bilge pumps. I believe they only pump in one direction. I like the aquarium aeration idea. I think I'll go with that.
  9. I consider myself a crafty person. So I am going to attempt to make a livewell for my boat. I have a very large cooler and two bilge pumps. This is what I know: 1.) I need to be able to fill the tank. 2.) I need to be able to drain the tank. 3.) I need to keep the tank aerated. My plan is this: 1.) Install pump #1 at the bottom of the tank, thru the side, positioned so the water is pumped out. The drain hose will go thru the starboard hull, high near the gunwales. This will allow my tank to drain. 2.) Install pump #2 thru the transom, down low on either side, positiond so the water is pumped in. The hose will go thru the tank's side, up high, near the lid. This will allow me to fill my tank. This leads me to a question. Aerating? What if I turned on both pumps, allowing water to pump in, and drain out at the same speed? Would that be sufficient aeration for livewell standards? I could even install a timer so it automatically kicks both pumps on periodically. Is this a good plan? I build everything solid. There will be no leaks or stability issues. I need YOUR input and/or ideas to decide whether this plan will work or not. Plus, I think it makes for good talking. I feel I have definately come to the right place to get answers.

    Digging 171 and 173. Perfect!
  11. My personal favorite is Sebago Lake, Casco Bay area. Big lake, great fishing, plenty to do. We usually spend 3 or 4 weekends per season up there, camping and fishing. One site we had, the boat ramp was 200 feet away.
  12. The oil on your spark plugs could mean that you are mixing your fuel wrong. Just a guess?? Regarding the breather valve on your tank....... mine didn't have one either but I bought a new cap which had the breather on it. Hope all goes well for you.
  13. I'm no pro, but it sounds to me like its a fuel issue. I would check fuel lines for cracks, check the fuel filter and make sure you're letting your tank breath. That was one of my biggest mistakes when I first started boating. I would leave the breather screw on the tank tight so no air could get in. Goodluck! I hope this helps.
  14. I love the smallie action, especially top-water. I use a Baby Bass 1 minus and it gets hit hard. Nice smallie!
  15. Always looking for fishing pals! Going out on Saturday, not sure of where yet.
  16. Drop shotting indeed. This weekend's forecast looks good with temps warming up so hopefully..........

This is not yet complete but its a 15' fiberglass tri-hull with a 70HP Johnson, 45lb thrust "Bill Dance" edition bow mounted, foot controlled trolling motor. I'm in the process of re-doing the front deck and building the rear deck. I also need still need to pad and upohlster the consoles. Any tips or advice is more than welcome. Thanks!

  23. Greetings. I would like to commend this website and its moderators. This is now my Go To site for anything I need, and I say that because my life is bass fishing. I think what I'm looking forward to the most is the immense amount of knowledge I will gain from this site and the smart people I will meet. Looking forward to this experience. I'm truly excited to discover that a site like this exists. Thankyou.
