Tackle Warehouse Question
that almost never works. read the fine print; it will likely say that any offers can not be combined with other price reductions. But, give them a call anyway. they're nice people and just may give you a break.

Rod Or Reel?
Being color-blind does have it's advantages. LOL!

Rod Or Reel?
I recently updated my rod/reel spreadsheet for the insurance company. On average, my casting combos tilt toward the reel; with reels about 50 percent more than the rods. My spinning combos tilt the other way; with the rods being about two and half times what the reels cost. Those are average values. Individual combos are all across the spread. Worst case one way: my jig rig, a Daiwa Light & Tough rod at $140, paired with a JDM Zillion, about three times that. Worst case the other way: Steez spinning rod, msrp around $500, paired with a $150 Pflueger Supreme XT. Right in the middle; a GLX with an R Edition Alphas, about even money for each. I don't pair up my combos based on price, but on weight and power. Trying to color coordinate isn't even given a thought.

What Are Some Improvements You Would Like To See On Your Favorite Bc's And Rods
shallow spool options handle length options ( I like shorter 70-80mm handles ) clicking drag and spool tension adjustments smooth knobs I would really like to see a "standard" foot length for all reels. This would allow rods to me made with no exposed threads on the reel seat. For rods; one request. Publish Common Cents data for all rods. This would help eliminate a lot of confusion regarding power ratings across the board. Another request. Publish the rod's weights. Reel weights are listed; why not the same data for rods?

The Road To The Super Bowl
Nitro, I've been lurking but not posting much. Been busy around here. I'm teaching six courses this semester. Not much time for posting. I really don't have a fav to root for. I was a 49er fan back in Montana/ Rice days, but that was long ago. I think this was one of the best series of playoff games ever. I hope the SB delivers as well. I'm looking forward to it.

The Road To The Super Bowl
In informal "wagering" with friends and co-workers I have been 100 percent wrong. I have picked every single game wrong. I'd have been better off flipping a coin. I intend to guarantee a San Fran win and pick the Ravens to win, in a close, low scoring defensive battle.

Coffee
BbOne cup at a time.. The only cup I've found to be too small is one of those little tea cups japanese or chinese. Glenn, if you try the Aeropress, you will do what I did; put away your french press.. Aeropress is the french press, perfected. Just grind your coffe for paper filter, not for press.

What A Way To End 2012!

Greetings
My woman has never once complained about my fishing trips. Never even suggested that I need permission. She just says where you going, when will you be back, and call me now and then to let me know you're still on the shiny side of the sod. This is her trip. She's been wanting to go to a Sandals Resort for a few years, so I tapped the trip & toy fund a little deeper than normal to get us booked here for the 20th. I'm not even going to suggest fishing.

2013 Roadtrip! You're Invited!
A sandwich bar; roast beef, ham, sliced cheese, bread variety, condiments; some side salads, fruit platter, veg platter, and of course wine and cheese. I'll have a case of wine for the Soiree, and beer and soft drinks, enough to last me the week and maybe a little to share; what ever will fit in the cooler. Want something besides wine? BYOB.

2013 Roadtrip! You're Invited!
Change of plans; I'm going to arrive wednesday may 1, not thursday. That being the case, I'd like to have my get-together wednesday evening. Sorry for the confusion. I just got "permission" to leave a day earlier.

2013 Roadtrip! You're Invited!
OK, I'm confirmed, got the time off, got the room reserved with Kent, and would like to change the Saturday Night Wine & Cheese Soiree to Thursday evening. I will be arriving Thursday afternoon, and will not be fishing that day. So, I will have more than enough time to get prepped for the event, if we can schedule it for Thursday. As we get closer, would all who plan to attend my little shin-dig please PM me, so I can make sure I have enough chow for everybody. Those of you who were at the last one know what to expect. I plan to layout the same spread. It seemed to be well received. If you have any suggestions, or requests, throw "em at me. This ain't written in stone.

Florocarbon Knots
Thanks WRB. You saved me a lot of typing. LOL This info is spot on. I do not like FC line, for the reasons WRB stated, and will use it only in a worst case scenario. If I have to use it, my tests tell me to use a San Diego jam knot.

Christmas Dinner...
My wife had to work Christmas evening, so dinner was gumbo, courtesy of Long Mike. Hat's off to LM's wife, Marlene, for the best danged gumbo in the known universe. The real dinner is tonight; Kobe sirloins, roasted spuds, asparagus and a bottle of Cab.
