  1. I own a 7 ft MH Fast Vendetta and Veritas 7 ft Heavy XF Veritas = Awesome Jig rod Vendetta= Awesome Spinnerbait rod I would get a telescopic 7'6" Heavy MF or Fast tip. You definitely want a soft tip on a Frog rod but stiff enough to pitch/cast jigs. I have a Team Daiwa-V 7'6" Heavy an it is perfect!
  2. You are so right, SX's cast AMAZING but there finicky.... I have used different Shimanos and you almost cannot backlash them. I think I will try this reel, And I already own a 7 ft H XF Veritas as a pitching stick or jig rod and think I wanna try somthing new. I have never owned a Carrot Stix so I wanna try out the Wild, has anyone used this rod? I'm also looking at the Skeet Reese rod.
  3. Ok I own 2 SXs and I love these reels but I'm in the mood for somthing different. I have heard SO many good things about the Curado and really want to try one for myself. So the question is, has anyone owned and fished both? And should I keep adding to my SX arsenal or try this reel. And what technique is best for it? Rod: I own a Vendetta, Veritas, and a Team Daiwa-V (I think). I had a Cumara but it broke, was not happy but Imma send it back and sell the new rod and use that money towards a new combo. I need a new rod, I'm thinking about a Veritas cause I can get them for $53 BUT my dad has a Smoke and I LOVE it! Those are $83. I also want a Skeet Reese rod now or later and wanna try a Carrot Stix. As you can see I use cheaper rods but there fine. What should I do? PS: If I love the Curado Enough I may replace all my reels to it.
  4. Softer tip = Frog rod!! BUT you didn't ask that... I would use the Stiffer Rod for Punching. I have a 7' Heavy Fast Veritas for a pitching rod and Jigs/Carolina rig and I LOVE it!!
  5. Look at Bass Pro, Cabelas, and Dicks. They have alot of Casting combos for only $100. But I tell you what get the Bill Dance rod/reel at bass Pro, my dad has had that reel for a year now and still throws good. The reel is a Quantum Response in different color, my lil brother has 3 and they are good cheap reels!!
  6. Huh? It felt good in my hand but that's abt it. Yea, I'm not gonna get one
  7. it didnt feel right in the store so no i will not be trying it What didn't feel right about it? Atleast the ONE I held didn't feel bad for $60 (My wholesale price). I mean there wasn't any play in the handle but maybe these reels are crap... After reading this I will definitely play around with it more
  8. Ardent Flipping/Pitching reel! Tell you what Shimano Free Spool reels pitch amazing!! But I would still get the Ardent mainly because that is what it is made for and it's awesome
  9. Like he said throw both on that rod and then decide. But for your second rod, Swimbaits? Most people like a 7'6+ MH or H F or XF rod but I don't know what your price range but I would suggest 7'-7'6 MH-H Fast with 17# Flurocarbon! BTW you won't be able to throw small crank baits such as smaller bandits, Lil Johms etc.. Because of the bigger sized line.
  10. I don't think anyone here has even used one but they are hating on it!?? There good enough for Skeet Reese! Have you been to the classic? No, has he? Multiple times. I'm not saying this is a good reel but you shouldn't hate it if you haven't used it. I don't have one but paired it with the Skeet Reese rod and it felt great. Taclketour, Brent Chapman and Skeet Reese all love this reel, I'm gonna try it I think you should to!
  11. I also have this rod and no what you mean hah But I have heard that you can send any Shimano rod in with a note that says you let your dog chew it up on purpose an they will still replace it for free no questions asked! Isn't Shimano great!?
  12. I hve never used the BPS Pro-Qualifier but some people swear by it! But if you can afford it I would recommend the Citica or Revo-S!!
  13. I'm trying to see if I can get iRod wholesale cause if I can I'm gonna get a Bub Tosh Punch Rod but for now I'm gonna get cheap reel and Vendetta, Veritas, Veridict, or Skeet Reese
  14. Because you're tired of feeling all of those annoying fish that keep taking your lures. Duh. : Lol I know I'm an idiot but I didn't understand this :-? I think he is referring to the fact that they insulated the handle so you wouldn't be bothered by feeling the fish through the rod handle when they bite. Course I can't speak for him. Just an educated guess on my part. ;D ;D Oooohhhhhhh I get it!!! haha I was waiting for you Basspro96, ik your like 14 or 15 and sponsored STALKER!!! But for real I have felt these rods only in store and at the FLW this past year and personally I think they feel good. .................. Is this a way of calling me retarded without actually saying it?? :-? It might be true but it hurts... :'( lol

  16. Well trust me when I tell you I'm going to get a job at publix when I'm 14 (in october) because this sport isn't cheap. But it Is WWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY cheaper then paintball!!!!!! EDIT: @ philsoreel ^^^ Thx I will definitely look into this
  17. wow im 16 and i probably only got about $600 in all my combos Well I have a Abu Garcia Revo SX/ Cumara MH 7'2 Combo - $420 and a Citica D/ Veritas - $220 and a Revo SX/ Team Daiwa- $280 so that $920 total. I have been fishing for a year now so I think I have made some good choices. Ok I'm not gonna put braid on everything I want a Frog Rod and a Flippin' Rod with braid and that's it, the rest will be Fluro or Mono and I might try out Copolomer, thank you all for you advice it really helped
  18. I have a tournament at Lake Talquin on April 9th... Never been there and could use any kind of help!!
  19. The reels are light and the rods are super Sensitive... I think quantum has a winner here!!
  20. Haha I only make $10 a week but I do have abt a $1000 in 3 combos. And your right magnetron has little 2 no abrasion resistance but it throws good. I think I will keep fishing with mone and if it continues beg my dad for some of his Sunline Fluro lol
  21. I guarantee you that a little kid picked up that rod and just pulled it very tight... I have one and lOve it because you can store it so much easier
  22. Because you're tired of feeling all of those annoying fish that keep taking your lures. Duh. : Lol I know I'm an idiot but I didn't understand this :-?
  23. Nvm the swivel, and we were fishing very clear water and tried moving closer but when we did we stopped catching fish, so is Copolomer like low stretch? And I'm 13 so I can't really afford the Sunline but thats why I wanna know if there is another Flourocarbon line that has a small diameter but a bigger poundage, Example the 16# Sunline Shooter is .13 diameter which is the same as 12 pound mono. (Like Stren Magnethin)
  24. Ok if you read my last topic "Flipping and more" you know that I had a tournament this past weekend. We were throwing Skinny Dippers so I had a swivel on it about 1 ft and a 1/2 up the line. I was casting this junk a mile and I was using 16# Sunline Monofilament. Because I was casting so far and I was using Mono I couldn't ever get a good hookset so I need to know what to do, buy fluorocarbon? Because I like Sunline Shooter 16# because of the thin diameter but it's $40 for 130 yds. And what is Copolomer? Thx
  25. You don't know what insulated means? :-? Like What's-His-Face said I know what insulated mean but I don't know why they would insulate a rod handle
