  1. Yea Big Bear will sponsor just about anyone, I know 13 yr olds with sponsorships (which is just a fancy word for saying "I get there stuff wholesale") But the grips personally think are cool, they are made to channel the water so you always have a good grip and they are insulated what ever that means
  2. My suggestion: Rod: Veritas 7'6 MH Line: 50-65# braid, Daiwa Samurai, PowerPro, 832, etc. Baits: Beavers, Chigger Craw, Rage Craw, Smokin' Rooster, the list goes on. Paycheck punch skirts and others like that are good. Just like any other bait, they have their time and place. Ok I like the Veritas I have a 7ft Heavy and I have actually flipped with it but don't like the tip so I don't think I'm gonna like the Tip on the 7'6" MH. What I need to know is... Is 7'6 long enough or would I be better Off with like an 8 ft Skeet Reese rod? And the other thing is if I went with a lower priced rod but was very strong am I ginnards look back and wish I had bought a $150+ rod?
  3. I Snatched one out of the water and he got and the other one swam with my bait I set the hook and it wasn't there. Ok I'm thinking get 7'6" Heavy Fast Vendetta ($50) and put it on my Shimano Citica 100D because it is a free spool reel. Then spend money on 1/2 oz - 1 1/2 oz tungsten weights and paycheck baits hooks and some punch skirts an baits... Oh and 65 pound braid. Is this all I need?? And BTW thanks for all the feedback!!
  4. Yea, just about any reel will work for Carolina Rig BUT I wouldn't suggest a HS reel because you are normally working the rig VERY slow. But pay more attention to your rod.
  5. Ok what characteristics do you want to apply when choosing a rod for this technique?
  6. Ok so I fished a tournament last weekend at Seminole and came in 12 out of 21.... In a few weeks we have a tournament at Lake Talquin. At Seminole I missed 2 fish flipping and I don't really have "flipping gear". What I'm getting at is I have a Team Daiwa 7'6 Heavy but it is more like a frog rod so I want to get into this technique. I want a cheaper rod like Veritas or Vendetta or carrot stix wild or Skeet Reese. What should I get for Rod? Line? And baits/terminal:.. Does anyone have a flipping kit to get you started, btw I was looking a PaychCk baits stuff
  7. If your not gonna buy a Spinning rod for lighter baits I would suggest having a Heavy rod for big jigs, carolina rigs, light flipping etc and a MH for Spinnerbaits and a Medium mayber for crankbaits and lighter lures.
  8. I know that BUT Boyd Duckett was first teamed up with e21 to make rods but then they separeated a few years ago.
  9. SX all the way!!! I have 2, my brother has one and my dad has like 5. THese reels are so smooth and they worl amazing, they will throw weightless plastics but if you put a lipless crankbait on there you will throw a mile. It really comes down to whish one feels better in your hand and on your specific rod BTW my friend used all Shimanos (he transfered to Ardent) and he had a Chronarch 50mg and a Core 100E and he loved shimano but he would not buy a Curado, idk why but he was gonna get a Pro-Qualifier b4 he got a Curado
  10. Yea I saw this same show and it takes ALOT of practice to be able to pitch that soft but Ican almost do it, YEA!!! Haha but yes he did engage the spool
  11. I know when E21 made the Boyd Duckett Carrot Stix they were amazing rods but I head when E21 dropped Boyd they made the "white" rods and they had breaking problems but when they came out with the Micro series they fixed that. You won't find many people with these rods so it will be hard to find a good review.
  12. Ok idk if anyone remembers me but my old name was TeamGolija or WannaBe_Like_Ike or CodeRed7sw. Well alot has changed, my knowledge, biggest bass, and my fishing arsenal. My Gear: Abu Garcia SX 6.4:1 w/ Reel Grips / Shimano Cumara 7'2" MH Fast- 10# P-Line Flourocarbon Abu Garcia SX 6.4:1 / 7' MH Fast Vendetta- 30# PowerPro Shimano Citica D / 7' Medium XFast Vendetta - 16# Stren Magnethin What is wrong here? Well I don't really want the Citica but my friend is replacing all his stuff and he wanted my SX so I traded him one SX for that ^^ Cumara, plus 2 reel grips, and let me barrow that Citica till I had enough money for another SX. What's to come? Well I have a Veritas on the way from my dads wholesale company but they are messing up big time and I will soon buy a 7.1:1 SX. Thx
  13. Personally if you are gonna go with a cheaper rod like the Veritas (not hating on it cause I have one on the way) I would save a Lil more a differnt reel. The Citica is an amazing pitchin reel due to it's Super Free spool system but go ahead and get an Abu Garcia SX, amazing reel I have 2 (had 3 but traded for Shimano Cumara) and they are so smooth! U can't go wrong with that combo!
  14. That would explain why some crankin rods are stiff and some are so flimsy when you dhake it it comes back and hits you (like the Skeet Reese) Thx Everyone for posting what RW said lol it realy helped
  15. This post has 2 meanings, Im telling people about the new products and im asking people if they think these products will take off or not
  16. Thats cool just be careful cause they have a history of breaking ez hope you catch alot of fish with it
  17. IK but there is not a big selection of actions and powers
  18. Ok I was at the FLW this weekend and saw alot of new stuff, I saw the new Boyd Buckett with Micro guides, a new series from Boyd Duckett a lazer lure crankin rod with micros both were super light!! Ok there is a new series from Castaway it is a College series with ALL the colors from all the teams with micro guides and will retail for $69-$89. That is really all the new stuff that was there but they had some AWESOME deals like a Quantum Superlite for $89 so I will be going next year I should be at the nest B.A.S.S. expo Where do you think the new products will go?
  19. You can't go wrong with either, its all about personal preferance. I personally would go with the Revo
  20. To bad you werent at the FLW the last 3 days, they had the Superlites for $89
  21. I agree its just another type of reel, I dont think it will catch on after all you dont see and thr fans becoming bladeless.
  22. O i thot ppl used braid for the power
  23. W&M is coming out with a new series of rods called Skeet Reese Micro Honeycomb they have Micro guides and the weight is supposed to be reduced. It also has a Lifetime Warranty so if you break it on a hookset when you are 102 yrs old they will replace it. I personally would go for that
  24. But you need flurocarbon as strong as your braid or else what is the point in having braid, right? Ive never used one
  25. I agree you will love baitcasters, and of you are fishing worms n jigs unless thr water is really dingy or muddy I wouldnt use braid. Been there Done that
