  1. x 2 Great reel for the price!
  2. Great reel for the money. very smooth for a reel in that price range.
  3. Thanks for the advice fellas, I was still having trouble deciding so I bought one of each. figured I would try them both out and maybe take one back or if they are both decent I will keep them.
  4. I am looking to buy a new spinning rod and have narrowed it down to these two. Both rods are 6'8" Medium X-fast. which one should I get?
  5. I would say a $100 - $200 would be pretty decent. you could always check craiglist for comparable boats for a price point.
  6. These 2 get my vote, can't go wrong Shimano!!!
  7. Bass Pro Shop Carbonlite 6'8" MXF and a Shmano Symetre 2500. I have a couple of these and I am really happy with them.
  8. Has anyone had any experience with EGO nets, they look like pretty decent products. [ftp]https://www.adventureproducts.com/index.html[/ftp] I have been looking at the Landing Net S1 medium rubber.
  9. I am fishing out of a 1236 Jon Boat for Large mouth Bass, What size net would work well for the combination? Length? Hoop Size? Recommendations?
  10. I will often use a white spinnerbail and put a purple 8" zoom worm on it. The bass love it!!
  11. Before I made mods to my boat, I spent a lot of time on this site and tinboats.net. Both very good sites and a lot of very smart people to answer any questions you might have.
  12. Sedona's are great reels for the money. As long as you take care of it you will get many years out of it.
  13. They work very well, but the are slick! Better make sure the boat is strapped down.
  14. That is pretty sweet! I use an old fasioned small bottle jack.
  15. Ugly Stiks aren't bad for the cost, I tossed a shimano sodona on a couple of them. My girlfriend seems pretty happy with them but then again she spends most of her time tanning on the back of the boat though.
  16. If I were you I would pick up more Carbonlite rods, I know that I am going to. I think the are one of the best rods out there for the money.
  17. A 14ft Jon would do alright in certain area of lake Michigan. I lived on lake Huron for most of my life and every spring we would night fish for walleyes in the bays in a 14ft Jon, no problem. I would not even consider venturing out of a bay or from behind a break wall though.
  18. Thank you everyone for all of the help, I ended up upgrading and getting a shimano symetre. I am much happier with this reel.
  19. I have done that a couple of times already. I was also looking at Lowe boats, Blue springs Marine had some very good prices, and seemed to be very knowledgeable. Where did you buy your Lowe?
  20. Thats where I was at! Love that store!
  21. I went to a local store to buy a Sedona FD 2500 spinning reel, it is what I have on a couple of my other spinning rods. They were all out, but they had a Spirex FG 2500 for the same price. Are these reels comparable? Is one better that the other. I love the Sedonas that I have.
  22. Thank you very much, that is what I plan on doing. I appreciate the help.
  23. Mainly small lakes and ponds, I might get out on the Missouri river a little bit.
