I just purchased that very rod. I put a Shimano stradic 2500fj on it. Somewhat over your proposed budget. It has a real good feel to it. Can't wait till springtime to get to try it out. Hootie

Did you ever have two identical rods, both labeled the same, yet you could tell they are different? I have two rods, both heavy-xf. I am positive one is a med. hvy. They absolutely don't feel the same. Hootie
