That's quite the day. Those are some good looking smallies you got. Squarebills seem to be working for people right now I guess.

Sounds like you had them pretty dialed in bob, that's awesome. Seems like a successful day to me.

Got this largemouth on my first cast to a submerged tree with a jig/rage craw. Sure felt good!

Heading to a small reservoir this morning, I'll be fishing from shore off a rocky point most of the time but we'll see where the bass take me. Hopefully I'll have something to talk about when I'm back! Anyone else getting out today?

Anyone fished Clement Pond in Hopkinton? Take a look at it on google maps and let me know what you think. It may be too small but I don't want people in canoes or john boats to have trouble getting around. The only time I've been there I was one of two boats on the water. We caught a few decent bass in a short period of time. Open to suggestions.

Looks like devildoc, jitterbug, mhtranger, Shane, and mike... You guys seem interested in meeting up. I'm sure more people will join as it gets organized. Pretty sure nhbassin and Nev will be down too... Bob? Deak? Fly fisherman? Bababooey? Mainebass? Jaystraw? Any interest? Those who want to do this, do you have any suggestions of where to go? I've been in VT so you'll know the NH water better than me. How's Saturday June 7th or 14th looking also?

Speaking of a mini BR reunion, I think it would be fun to start getting one together. I know it's nearly impossible to find a date that everyone can make but maybe we could have one in the spring/ early summer and one in the fall... Hopefully between the two most of us could make one of them. Seeing as this is a southern NH thread I would say it's fair to pick a place in central/southern NH. I don't want to get carried away too quickly, but if this sounds like something any of you would like to do then speak up and we can make it happen!

I finally got my boat and trailer fixed and was able to get out for a short time on Sunday afternoon. I started out throwing a Rage Craw with a bullet weight and alternating between a jerkbait and lipless crank and wasn't getting any action. I switched over to a square bill crankbait and hooked up with a real nice one on my second cast that came off at the boat. I got this largemouth a few casts later... not too big but they're all fun. Hope everyone had a good weekend of fishing whether you caught something or not!

Pretty sure they take into account the aesthetics quality of the places on the list along with other characteristics aside from just size and numbers of fish... For that reason alone it makes sense that some New England waters would make the list. We've got some unique places up here guys.

I'm not too familiar with Maine waters, but I agree 100% that it is great to see some northeast lakes on the list.

I hear about how great the Lucky Craft Pointer 100 is all the time. I know mikeognr, you said you were looking for cranks, but it's a good time of year for the pointer 100 and if you're gonna buy some... you might as well buy some more. I'd be interested to know how it works for ya.

Lonewolf that sounds like one healthy addiction! I m at a point where I'm trying to only buy lures to replace ones that I lose... I'm not very good at it. Trying to set money aside to eventually upgrade my boat rather than have lures I won't take with me on the water. Anyways... I'm proud and jealous of you and you 130 unopened lures!

OHH YEEAH is right! Always a good day when there's a reel-sized box on the doorstep. Hope the new combo gets plenty of action... I trust that it will.

I love the light jig/ bulky trailer combo this time of year. I used to use the rage baby craws with a strike king bitsy bug jig but have switched to the regular size Craws almost 100% of the time now. The bigger craw definitely slows it down a lot. As for what can be done to get comfortable with fishing a jig... I really think that time spent fishing it is the most important part. I read an article about a pro who knew crank baits were an essential part of his tackle box but just wasn't comfortable throwing them; he decided to spend a years worth of "fun fishing" time only using crank baits in whatever his conditions presented him with. Now he's less hesitant to use the crankin' rod when tournament fishing; says he feels like he has added a new lure to his arsenal. Once you get some fish on a jig, and get confidence in it, you may not put it down!
