  1. I have never fished the Nashua River and have wanted to for a while. If there was a get together there that would be a great reason to finally get down to fish it. I've heard and seen good things come out of there. I'm in the process of having my engine worked on so hopefully this gathering isn't too soon, i'd love to be a part of it.
  2. Sounds good to me
  3. I have used a black spinnerbait with two colorado blades on it. They'll feel the thump of the blades and come hit it.
  4. Just fished about 40 feet of open water at a pond in Concord with nhbassin. We were able to see plenty of sunnies up shallow and we both hooked pickerel. Was really hoping for some largemouth but at least things are getting active! These next few days should definitely help get rid of some ice.
  5. Yeah i'm sure it's great fishing, i'm working on getting my boat up here. What part(s) of the lake do you fish?
  6. Yeah, deffinitely a lot of places to explore. I can't wait to start fishing all the small lakes and ponds around here also. It'll be fun to fish some new water.
  7. We'll have to top those two 6's this year nhbassin! Anyone have any experience with Lake Champlain? I'm in VT for school for a bit and live next to the lake. I fished from shore off some rock points in the fall and got a few smallies, nothing too big though. So if anyone has any good Champlain stories let me know! Unfortunatley the season doesn't start here until April 13th so I've been DYING to get out. Heaing to Concord on Friday, hopefully I can find some open water, even if it's the river.
  8. I was out around 8am this morning, fished shallow for a bit and didn't get a bite so I started casting a lipless crank out a little deeper and got a bass that wasn't much over a pound. I fished a small pond from shore a little later around 1pm and got 3 bass and snapping turtle. None of the bass had any size to them, but still fun. Can't wait till it warms up a little.
  9. Good job fmoore! That smallie looks amazing, so fat! What did you get it on?
  10. Went out on the river around 10:30 this morning with nhbassin. Full rain gear and we were good to go. I started catching largemouth almost right away with a crankbait, throwing it as shallow as i could. 90% of our bites came right next to shore, especially if you could get your bait into the flooded bushes. I can't believe the average size of the fish around there, most of ours were in the 3lb range, a couple 3 1/2lbers. nhbassin started getting good bites slow rolling a spinnerbait...one of which was a 3lb smallie. We headed back to the boat ramp around 2:30. Both of us were pumped on making the best of an otherwise nasty day.
  11. After reading about everyone catching big large and smallmouth I had to try it out after work today. I was only able to be there for a short time, just long enough to land a decent smallmouth, just short of 3lbs. I'll take it any day. I did see several fish dart out from the bushes right on the shoreline which is now a few feet higher than it was a couple days ago.
  12. Heading to the river around noon with nhbassin...a little bit of rain aint no thing.
  13. Me and NHbassin are on our way to the power plant despite the fact that it is currently 10 degrees out. Praying for some of those 5 pounders like you caught shane.
