  1. Kent, I may need to tag along Saturday morning. Give me a shout later in the week.
  2. I am comparing the Duckett DFMM73MHC and the Dobyns SS733C. I already own a DFMM73MHC. This will be a general use rod. The Dobyns is the same price and I read some good things. Just want to know how it compares to the Duckett.
  3. If you had a choice, which one would you go with and WHY?
  4. We caught some fish, but man I am wore out. They launched in the back of Bear Creek. 4 pros launched there. But we saw several other pros running around.
  5. Was out there today. Rough day in the wind. We launched at the same ramp as Duckett and Hackney. We saw probably 7 Elite Series pros today. How did you get the opportunity to marshall? Next trip is on me.
  6. Okay. I was just curious.
  7. Those sacks came fom Yellow Creek? Are you sure?
  8. I wonder if I could start fishing Monday through Friday and only work on the weekend. I might have to look into that.... ;D
  9. Thanks guys. He put up a pretty good fight. Can't wait to get back after em. Those brown fish got some fight.
  10. We did pretty decent for the day. We didn't catch a ton below the dam and the wind really picked up so we hopped on the lake side to try to get out of the wind a bit. We did pretty well with jerk bait on the lake side. Caught some smallies and some green fish.
  11. Went out to Tennessee River this weekend with my good friend Kent a.k.a. Roadwarrior. Saturday the temperature was mid 50's in the morning. The water temp was about 55 degrees. TVA had 8 gates opened and the current was a rockin. We started out with topwater. We had no takers. Went to some jerks. Not much going on. Threw a jig on a drop off and kaboom!!! I got the better of this 5 pound smallie (my PB). At first I thought I had a big ole drum as he did not come up immediately. But this dude came to the surface and I had smiles ear to ear. ;D If you have not introduced yourself to Roadwarrior I suggest you do so. He has a wealth of fishing knowledge and he is one of the nicest guys on the planet. Thanks again Kent.
  12. Not I. With all the rain we got I ended up hitting the duck blind. Probably would have done better on the lake. Ducks seemed to moved out with the front.
  13. I may be able to go. i will let you know by tomorrow.
  14. You probably won't see this before you leave but if you put in at the Shell gas station and go past aqua yacht harbor and follow the bank to the right you'll run into a cove that has a white boat shed in it. The water is very low there and there's a lot of mud, but the water starts off really shallow and goes deeper in the back center of the cove. I caught two nice ones with a pop r right there where it drops off. I haven't fished Pickwick but once and I'm sure during the spring and right after summer it's probably more active than the river, but when times are tough I think you'll always have a better chance working the mouths and points of coves on the river side. Didn't see your post. Yeah it was a tough tough day today. Should have put in on the river. Oh well. That's why they call it fishing and not catching. ;D
