Who introduced you to fishing?
My Papaw took me fishing when I was 4 or 5 and I remember coming in from school and on Saturdays going to the pond and fishing all day long. Sitting in that ole flat bottom boat with him was the best thing in the world to me still to this day. I have got to take my son now fishing in that same pond, the boat is gone now but the memories remain and new ones have been made with my son on the same pond in the same place that I caught fish so many years ago. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and have a great
Merry Christmas and Happy new year to all. May this coming year be full of overflowing livewells and tackle boxes full of your favorite baits. Make it a safe one and leave the keys out of sight when you drink and not at home. Arrive safe at the lake or waters edge for a great day fishing with friends and family dear to you. Tatakai

center driving bass boats
Champion makes a Bass and Bay. Same thing as a bass boat just no carpeting in it because of saltwater use. I have been in several Bay boats and flats boats that ride as well as any bass boat and sometimes better than a bass boat. Also rough water a flats boat can't be beat, IMO. We had a Archer Craft 18' with a VMax 150 and could out run Bass boats in rough water. It all depends on what you like and are used to handling. My friend is just now getting used to his new bass boat after having flats and bay boats all his life. So far he likes the bass boat. Tatakai

3 yr old daughter already has a bait monkey
I have been taking my son fishing and hunting since he was 3 also. He just turned 7 and loves to fish. His thing this summer was to catch a bass and he did. I think that the Bass fishing bug has bit him good. I also have taken him fly fishing, he likes to watch but not for long to boring for him at this age I guess. Glad to see more and more families out fishing and hunting also. Used to own a gunshop and my son got his first BB gun at 2 and loved to shoot at the target box in the shop. If you teach them young I don't think that you will have problems when they get older. As for the Bait Monkey he has us bad, going to BPS tomorrow I am sure of it. Have to get some things for Saturday when we are going fishing. Bait monkey has been on my shoulder all day reminding me of things I want to get. Tatakai

Let's see your boats!!!
Not mine but is what I fish out of, a 2002 procraft 190 super pro with a 175 EFI. Boat tops out at 71mph, and is a blast to fish out of. Clean easy ride, handles rough chop well. Will be getting mine in the spring if the doctors clear me and I am able to get around again normally. Tatakai

Weapons on Your Boat
I agree with flechero, check the local laws and water restrictions before you carry on the water. Bad news will follow you if you don't check ahead. As for me I also have a Carry permit (not Concealed here in TN) and had the misfortune that a guy tried to grab it away form me one day. Needless to say my fishing buddy is a THP officer and the guy went to jail. Not only do we have snakes that fall out of the trees at times, we also have some seriously mentally challenged people on the water that shouldn't be allowed on the water. one thing that might be worth investing in is a radio to call the officials if need be before a situation gets out of hand. cold weather options
konichi wa genki desu ka. Nice to see someone in Japan on the board here. I am new here basically. I was in Japan last year and wish I was back there. I was in warabi while I was there. Got to fish the canal once while I was there. Good luck and I am envious of you. Enjoy your time there, I know I would be. Tatakai

How many of you actually fillet these things...
I love to have a plate of good fried fish. But the lakes here are so polluted that we are told not to eat to much of them in a months time and some species not at all should they be eaten. Wish that the waters were back to the way they were when I was a kid and could eat my fill. Oh well times have changed. Tatakai
