Ya i'd say it probly just has corrosion. clean it up with a wire brush or sandpaper like he said. see if that helps

i think location is important. here in se ohio a 5 lb bass is a great fish! i go crazy when i catch one.

if i wouldve had a crankbait or trailor hook it wouldve happened to me. once i was fishin some strip mine ponds and had a hit on a spinner bait. as i was reeling i noticed 2 other bass nipping at the bait! it was a great sight 8-)
