What's your fishing style ?
i usually take everything i possibly can. if i am going to be moving around a lot i try to minimize but if its a small pond and i can get everything to it and access it easily i will unload my boat usually 10 of my rods and all tackle...i hate being without something i know i have i guess you get that way when you normally fish out of a 19 ft boat and fish constantly.

Schooling bass
usually i find them doing this when they eat shad. has the water started receding? usually when water drops it pushes them out and they tend to roam. try anything that imitates shad or what they are feeding on. most of the time it is timing with them when they act like that dont get frustrated they will turn on.

Weather cooling and affect on bass?
usually this time of year the water cooling will turn the fish on especially if there is shad around and the shad ball up and come to the surface. if there are no shad just do what you do in the spring they will move back up in the shallow wood rock weed etc. if the water is low or lowering daily they may be out roaming, cranks, traps, jigs, plastics, what have you will work until the water gets cold enough to shut them down.

When do you peg your T-rigged and why?
ill peg when fishin sticks and heavy rock cover but with pads and weeds i wont. i usually put on a heavy weight with pads this is to let the weight be on the bottom and keep the bait suspended. u can let it fall slowly or gently pull the bait making it act like your bait is moving towards the bottom. usually when fish in the pads see a texas rig its pegged i do this to give them a different presentation and usually does not disappoint but do what you are comfortable doing pegged or unpegged there are pros and conns of each.

Easier up North?
fishing up north has its downfalls mainly in the weather at least ohio. one day it can be 90 and the next 60 which can make it tougher. it can be tough anywhere though not making any excuses for north or south.

Skunked again
Throw out a pop-r and just leave it set as long as you can stand. After awhile twitch it along varrying your retrieve. Try any type of walking bait and a lipless crank or a jerk bait with a slower retrieve.

Deciding What Ledges to Fish
I agree with Catt. If you find a ledge near a channel you can bet there are fish there.

Deciding What Ledges to Fish
When I search ledges before tournaments I go about it in two ways. First is i run along it with my side image and look for any type of cover or change on the bottom surface. As I am doing that I search for bait balls. If you find suspended bait you can pretty much count on bass down there. The second thing I do is look for rounded edges or points. Fish those areas and adjacent spots to it. If you dont get a bite in that general area I would not waste your time on long straightaways they usually are not productive for me. If there is a dip or cut in the bank that is on a long straight stretch of bank fish that too. Usually any change in an area holds fish. When it comes to baits I keep it simple. Anything that resembles a shad that they normally eat, football jigs, shakey heads, cranks, and carolina rigs. Hope this helps.

What's wrong with Ohio?
The biggest thing with Ohio is the weather I feel. It changes so often it is hard to put a pattern together. When I have been able to fish a pattern I have caught bigger fish. Another thing is to stay away from high pressured lakes if possible.
