  1. I think I am going to go with the invisx, I use this stuff for my trout gear. thanks all for the insight!
  2. Strictly for dropshotting on a spinning outfit. Fluorocarbon. The line I use now is Vanish and it will be the last time I spool it with this brand. Sometimes if I try to cast far I will get a nice bird nest type about 2 feet above my dropshot rig. So I will take any suggestions and try them out. Thanks!!!
  3. is recommended for dropshotting in 30ft and up to 70ft of water? Also, what type of hook and size would you recommend for dropshotting? Thanks!
  4. thanks guys, I really prefer the 6'8 for comfort and the lakes i fish at aren't very deep, mostly city park lakes..
  5. or is it all preference? I dont really care about distance in casting, so was going to go with the 6'8... also the 6'8 would fit in my car easier.. so is there any difference?
  6. appreciate the info all. Will look into youtube more. Thanks!
  7. Is the repair hard or easy? It also smokes in that area.. Ive got quoted $250-$600. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  8. I do apologize, guess I should of gave the pond condition too, was in a bit of a hurry to post. visibility isn't that great, murky water I guess you can say, haven't checked yet how the weeds are, but usually a TON of weeds. WRB - yes SoCal, the place I am talking about is in a decent neighborhood As for bass prey, blue gills and little fry, occasionally I'll see a crawdad close to shore but don't see many...

  11. Has anybody tried this? Looking for a new scent for my plastics and cranks..
  12. Location: Heavily pressured city park pond. Weather: low 50s in grey light, 60s noon. Clear skies mostly. Should I just use the techniques that got me bites here before or should I change it up? Last outing, got skunked. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  15. wow that sucks.. Im pretty sure it wasn't another fellow fisherman though.. The people around there isn't the safest place to leave stuff unattended..
  16. I usually go once a week, Friday early mornings. It's hit or miss for sure, top water in the morning, its a very tough pond but I always see the Bass busting the little minnows. Need to throw new stuff at them, tons of moss and weeds. Never really had any luck with the Plastics over there, always pulling up too much moss and weeds even on a t-rig.
  17. Gave up on it and sent it to Shimano. Thanks guys!
  18. Was wondering if anyone can help me here. While I was fishing with this reel I got a bite, went to set the hook and the drag went zzzzzzz and now it doesn't reel, well it reels but it BARELY picks up any line. If I gently thumb it, it won't reel at all. Also I can strip line off the reel(while the drag is tighten to the max) as if it was on free spool? I think I broke it. I opened up the brake system part and the spool comes out with ease, is it supposed to be like this? Question, do I try to fiddle with it or is there a lifetime on reels as well? Am I SOL? I have the box that it came with but I think thats about it. HELP!!! :-/
  19. ROFL ;D Provide all the gear and I'd video doing that.
  20. Ah thanks I understand now.. Thank you!
  21. How does this affect this rig? Trying to picture what you guys mean by line twisting. :-[
  22. also if she is keying on minnows/gills she probably won't be interested in a worm type plastic?
  23. wacky rig a 4" green pumpkin w/ black flake senko. Try to stay about 4 or 5 feet away from the bass so he doesn't get spooked. Cast the senko about 5 or 6 feet ahead of the bass(try to create as little noise as possible). Let the senko sink and then keep twitching it, dont' stop until the worm gets back to you. I've tried this at a few pressured lakes when I can see the bass and he can see me, and man does this technique produce. Yeah I was thinking stand about 5-10ft from the bass and cast parallel to the sidewalk pass the Bass and drop it in and work its way to the Bass. Pretty tough though cause alot of human traffic walking by at times. There are a ton of Minnows early in the morning close to the sidewalk feeding on little nats, pretty cool thing to watch as they jump out of the water to grab the bugs.
  24. So at my pressured City park lake there is this Bass that just sits close to the sidewalk edge, why is this? It is in the same spot everytime I go there. Easily spooked but will always come back when nobody is around. How would I try to land this guy? Easily a 3lber. I often see crawdads tucked in the cracks at the sidewalk edge, so maybe hes waiting for a free meal?
