I almost have enough funds together to get a fish finder and trolling motor (if it will mount on my boat lol) and once I do I'm gonna be out on my boat trying to break my 2011 curse - been skunking so far Way to go man! Looks like a great day of fishing with some real toads!

Rod for Calcutta 400B??
I really think I wanna go the swimbait route - seeing Matt Allen use the 400B to catch a 13lb largemouth has me geeked. And it looks like the okuma works ok for light salt too so I'm pretty sold Thanks again for all the help guys!!

Rod for Calcutta 400B??
think I may have to go with the okuma swimbait rod - thanks so much guys for the help. I like the fact that it can double as a saltwater if need be and I really want to hunt big bass and it seems like a go combo for that. thanks again fellas - tight lines

I think there is something about the genetics of the bass down in FLA too. I could be wrong but I remember hearing something about the genes of the huge 10lb+ bass caught in FLA and in the Delta in CA being different, or from some "special line" of LMB or something. I don't know if there's anything to that but there very well could be. I've skunked so far this year man and my gf just rubbed it in my face by pulling a 4lber from shore just the other day. I'm dying to go out - some of us should get together and try our luck some time.

Good Maine Smallmouth Day
Great looking smallmouth! I'd love a chance to hook up with some smallmouth around Bangor/Brewer while I'm here. I hear it's some of the best smallmouth fishing in the world! If you have any tips on where to go it'd really help! I tried to find some access to Chemo pond just yesterday but no luck. It's been so nice this weekend! Thanks for sharing!

Toddy Pond Maine LMB
Hey thanks for the response! It's great to see those pics, those are some really nice bass! I can't wait to get back out on the lake now that I know the fishery is tried and true!! If you're ever around the area let me know I'd love to see how it's really done If you have any advice on the patterns or areas to try on the lake, I'm all ears. I'm pretty much self-taught but I love to fish and love to learn!! Thanks again for hitting the thread up!! I've seen some of your other threads and it's obvious you know how to catch'em!

First Fall Bass/First Curado Fish!
Man I've been getting skunked this fall so far. I havent' been able to get out on a boat yet but I have hit a few spots from shore, especially now since I've got my first baitcasting setup. I've had a few hits on buzzbaits and a few rubber worms bitten in half by pickerel lol but no fish landed so far. So I was determined to take some new spinnerbaits I just picked up to a spot where I have been getting some strikes. It was raining and cold but I wanted to NEEDED to catch a fall fish!! So I got out to the spot with a 7/16 oz booyah black spinnerbait and BAM got this little fighter on the second cast. Hey - spinnerbaits DO work in the fall! Nothin too big but it really felt good to break my fall curse and now I finally know I can catch bass on my baitcaster lol Didn't weigh or measure it but I think it was around 14" or so. Decent little fight and for this area of Maine it's not a bad little fish
