  1. I'm glad I took the time to read this. It was good of you to take him fishing and I'm sure it was a time he'll never forget!
  2. Sounds like you got a bunch! Learned some new things too! Good stuff man!
  3. Great fish man and congrats on your 2011 PB! Did that dude say he was gonna grill a snake?
  4. lol yeah I can't believe I let that one out!!!
  5. HAHAHA MAN that's so Great!! Way to go man sounds like the perfect trip! Bet you can't wait to get back out there and catch that PB!! Glad to hear you had such a great time!
  6. thats s.h.i.t.t.y. man. Sorry to hear
  7. Great to hear your lake is producing! Nice fish!!
  8. Congrats on the wedding, the wonderful fishing, and what looks like the time of your life!! Thanks for sharing!! You lost a fish but gained a wife!!
  9. Thanks! It's the 4" floating spro bbz-1 in shad. The bass seem to like it around here, caught my pb last summer (in avatar) on my first cast on the same exact bait brand new right out of the box lol
  10. Stopped by my spot this afternoon for about an hour. Figured I'd throw the small rapala that gave me luck the other day but no one seemed to want it. I saw a male and female chilling around a bed and so I threw it up on them, the female seemed mildly interested and came over and took it in it's mouth and spit it right out. It could see her take it and I tried to set the hook during the split second it was in her mouth but she spit it out with lightning speed. Poop. So I kinda got the feeling that the fish werent that active but still would chase a threat - so I tied on a 4" floating spro swimbait and worked my way up the bank. Came to a little point that I thought Id be able to sneak up on so I did and casted out off it as far as I could into the middle. Gave the swimbait a few twitches then deadstuck it and it exploded! I swung on my rod and set the hook and had a nice little fight on my hands. Saw her flash a few times and hauled her on in. Same size I've been getting from this spot, but still a nice little fight and much much better than skunking. I really love to catch bass it makes my whole day better
  11. Thanks Gman!
  12. Lol yeah I hear you the bite can be tough! It'd still be a good time though! And I think you’re past the ability to look like a fool with all the bucket-mouths you’ve boated! If you really ARE ever in the area and looking to fish I’d be down to pitch jigs in a puddle with you lol and you’d probably STILL pull a 4 lber!!
  13. Man that'd be crazy! Then I could show you how to actually catch some fish so you don't always come up empty lololol JUST KIDDING! No but seriously that would be a great time man!
  14. Great bass! Area looks awesome too! Care to share what worked for you? Looks like a real small lure tied on that rod, was that the rig?? Either way, way to go and thanks for sharing!
  15. Haha lol good to hear from you! Actually that is from a few days ago (late last week, not sure the exact day but I think Friday) at the spot we both know and love. The forum's been giving me lots of errors lately so I was just able to post it. But yeah, I worked my way up towards those rocks that you suggested and caught it about halfway up! I DEFINTELY need the boat rigged up haha I really can't wait! My humminbird arrived in the mail the other day and I almost have the funds worked out for a minn kota! So once it's fixed (from me not winterizing etc ) it should be good to really track down some quality fish. As far as the weather I hear you it's been pretty bad lately. I've been going out trying some new spots lately (partly in order to scope out good landings for when my boat's ready ) and haven't been having any luck. Today after checking out a landing I fished the outlet of a new body of water for a little bit and had a few strikes, one of which I brought up pretty close to me and which looked like a trout of some sort. Looked like pinkish-reddish by the brief surface flash I got. Right after said flash the trout spit my lure though I was pretty excited though - I've never caught a decent trout and it seemed like that's what I had on my line! I'm gonna try a little each day but I really can't wait till the weather brightens up for us! If you come over by my way during your vacation let me know!
  16. lol thanks!
  17. Hey man way to go! It's good that you got to go out and try some new lakes and looks like you did a good job figuring out the jig/lobster bite! The pike looks great and the bass too! Sounds like a good time with your Dad!
  18. lol funny **** about the frog! Good job man looks/sounds like a fun place to fish!
  19. Sounds like a good time man! I still have yet to catch a striper! Have fun figuring out the new area - I definitely know the feeling!
  20. Nice bass man! It's funny I just tied on a frog for the second time today and really tried to get the action down for the first time. No bites for me but I'm liking the way it hops and its soooo weedless - I'm thinking I want to try it a lot more too and really get the technique down. It looks like it will be real effective!!! Good job on your first frog fish!!
  21. Stopped in again at my little shore spot to see if I could catch a quick bass. The day before I hadn’t had any luck with plastics or jigs so I brought a little jointed rapala this time, thinking the fish wanted more of an active lure – turns out I was right cuz this little dink smashed the rapala on my first cast. Lol I was hoping this might mean bass a little bigger might like the lure as well, so I made my way down the bank and ran into this little chunk. Not too huge, but 15” and chunky so I was happy for the day lol
  22. good job man! No idea what the weight is but I used to live in lansing michigan and I miss michigan bass haha
  23. lol nah you guys are both amazing! You guys both hone in on the best bass available around your local areas. I'm still relatively inexperienced so my go to bait for right now is still a trigged plastic worm. I have to gain confidence in order to really feel like I know what I'm doing with a jig. Plus from shore in the shallows I'm not sure the typical bottom bouncing jig is the best bet. Got some swimjigs ordered though and can't wait to give them a go.
  24. Yes please send some of those bass genes to Maine!! We need them up here and we really appreciate huge bass lol. Just overnight me a livewell full I'll take care of the rest.
  25. lol it's funny you say that about the scale - I just picked up a rapala digital scale today so now I have to be honest about my weights lol skunked today btw - so, so sad. Worked up and down the bank for almost an hour but couldnt even get a nibble. The water was much clearer and I saw a few bass - they just didn't want my offerings. They seemed more active/aggressive and I think they wanted something shiny - but I had no spinnerbaits or anything shiny in my bag I didn't come prepared. Or maybe they new I had a scale on me and they were touchy about their weight
