  1. good call man I'll do that. That reminds me of a video I saw of Matt Allen catching a bass off a single strand of plastic from a tube lol - goes to show you can get pretty crazy with your ingenuity with this ish when you need to Thanks for stopping thru and tight lines to you!
  2. yeah man I was hoping if they WERE bluegill or some baitfish there might be some bigguns around preying on them - but no luck in that particular spot lol. Still learning my marine biology haha Thanks for stopping by the thread!! Tight Lines!
  3. another nice video - I remember the deer in the last one - you're stepping it up now lol can't wait to see what's next! You're gonna have el Chupacabra on the next one! Nice fish too man!
  4. The weather’s been pretty iffy around here lately and I haven’t really had a chance to get out much, but I managed to pull a couple chunky 3lbers out recently so I figured I‘d share. I’m hoping to get up to a smallmouth fishery this weekend if all goes well and that should be a good time. These guys came on jigs. When I first got out there I found a crazy bite that must have been smaller guys cuz they’d hit a rage craw on every toss but they’d keep tearing off the claws lol. Not sure if anyone else has ever had this happen to them but I went thru a whole pack like that lol I was being stubborn. kinda sucks but I guess you could call it a pattern LOL I chose not to waste another pack on the spot
  5. Congrats on the win!! And yeah I agree the report was a pleasure to read! Great job - you obviously what you're doing out there!

Congrats on the PB! Nice Fish!! Not sure about the tail - maybe someone else will chime in on it.
  7. Ha thanks man! Yeah man it felt really good to get a nice bass like that! Unexpected!! lol that's funny about pickerel man they're really bad up here and when I first tried poking around out here looking for spots to fish I hooked way too many!! Luckily lately I've been getting more bass than those nasty slimy cigar fish with teeth That's a step up at least.
  8. nah homie out of Cali but now in Maine for about another year. Hope all is well w u and ur catching fish!!
  9. Nice man way to beat the heat!
  10. Hey man that's still a nice fish - keep at it it'll pay off!!
  11. Haha yeah man ur right let's call it a solid 5!
  12. Awesome man!!! Again, great fish and congrats!!
  13. Congrats on your PBs! Yeah I hate to be negative on someone's PB thread but what's up with keeping the fish??
  14. Hey man thanks a lot! I'll take you up on that! Good luck on your outing!
  15. Yeah man I've read about your great luck at Schoodic on Mainebassman's thread! 7 lbs is amazing! I'm trying to plan a trip for me and my girlfriend to get up there for a few days and get into some bronzebacks for sure. I'll let you know how it went - thanks so much for the tip!!
  16. lol people are funny
  17. Well I didn't really feel like I was wasting time, and actually I enjoy fishing and had a great time catching that fish. But yes, I would certainly like to catch 40 smallmouth a day in the 4-6lb range too. Unfortunately it's not always as easy as just wishing for something to come true. I've only lived in Maine for a year and don't really know much about it or where to go to have such fantastic days fishing. And this body of water is close to where I live as I don't have tons of time to get out to remote smallmouth areas. I've only been back into fishing for the past year or so, so to me it's pretty nice to get out and catch some decent bass in heavilly fished local areas. Like I said I enjoy my time out on the water and don't really think of it as a waste. I DO hope to get out as much as I can and improve my tactics for targeting smallmouth while in Maine. As I do I will continue to post my catches, so hopefully you won't be so worried about me wasting my time the next time I post my PB of the season.
  18. Great job man! Snap some pics next time!!
  19. Thanks guys - felt good to get a decent one after seeing all the monsters you all pull down there lol Yeah Big O I'm just really enjoying myself out there and learning a lot this year. I've started to fish jigs a lot more partly because I've seen the magic you create with yours!! This one came on a jig and craw trailer Deep - thanks man, Now I just gotta go out and beat this year's PB with the hudd!
  20. Hey man good to see you! Yeah I’ve had a little luck lately but a few rough days too, but that just makes the good days all the better! I just love getting out there. This pond I’ve been hitting is real close to where I live and in a relatively populated area so I’m just glad it provides such a nice fishery. I bet there are some 5-6 lbers in there. Sounds like a fun trip man! Sorry your canoe got busted up lol but at least you got into some decent fishing. That 3 ½ pound river smallie must have been a nice fight! I gotta get out on the Penobscot soon and see if I can get some river smallmouths here. Hey if you’re coming down to Toddy definitely let me know! I’ve only been there once this year as well and found a little structure that I’d like to check out but really I don’t know anything about the lake. It’d be cool to link up! I know there are some monsters in there after seeing that 8 lber they hauled out of there! Either way good luck on your upcoming tourney!!
  21. Yeah man I'm really liking them! I love the stoutness of the jig hook as opposed to worm hooks and also the fact that the jig hooks are exposed. Those two attributes are making me prefer jigs to worm fishing atm. I feel it's much easier for me to lose a fish on a worm.
  22. What a great fish! Maybe she'll get hooked on bass fishing now! Man I can't wait to fish down there!
  23. nice man - thanks for the tip! BTW I caught my PB LMB of the season on a jig today! lol it must have known we were talking about jigs and got hungry haha - check out my log if you wanna see the fish! Good luck out there and tight lines!!
  24. Hopefully no one else catches this beauty because lots of people fish this pond and I think lots of people keep the fish they catch Got it around some timber with a finesse jig. 4.16 lb, PB of the season Not bad for up here in the area I'm living right now!
  25. Got out for an hour today and thankfully I'm starting to learn this lake a little bit - stuck with the little finesse jig around some timber and stuck this 4.16 lber for my PB of the season! In my excitement I forgot to measure it's length but I'd guess around 20 inches or so? Really not positive - but it's good to confirm that there are big bass in these waters!
