  1. << Jealous lol all we have out here is like LL Beans and Dick's haha Sounds like a great time and good deals man! Nice!
  2. nice man yeah me too - we get hella pickerel around here which are the absolute worst of that family of fish but I'd like to go somewhere and get into some monster pike or musky too - they look like they get huge! So do you use a wire leader when you're in pike waters?
  3. that's crazy about the lightning man be careful! Another great video! One thing I found confusing was did you end up getting a weight on the 6# bass? Looks like you weighed it then afterwards you weren't sure what it weighed? Either way thanks for another great vid and great fish man! The frog bite is so fun!
  4. Got up hella early and spent a few hours at dawn frog fishing which was fun. Missed a few fish but hooked a couple as well. Nothing huge with the biggest being 2.5# but fun to get those blow ups in the erie, still, foggy water early in the morning like that. This fish had a bite taken out of it’s dorsal fin/back. I’ve been catching bitten fish lately for some reason lol
  5. yeah I saw the huddlebond on their website, I need to get some mendit or some of that. Thanks for the tip! And thanks for the weedless hudd tip too! Cheers! Thanks for stopping thru the thread as well! Glad you enjoyed it!
  6. Nice man, congrats on tying the PB! That looks like real a good froggin area man! Thanks for sharing!
  7. Nice man at least you were out there catchin'! I've never caught pike - you ever hook in to those big ole 40 inchers?
  8. Hey thanks people! Yeah the wind can be an issue with the small boat sometimes for sure, especially when the person in front is trying to lay out and work on her tan and the water keeps splashing over the bow on them lol but you didn't hear that from me
  9. Nice man looks like a real peaceful time to be out!
  10. Nice report man! Sounds like you really know the area!
  11. Finally got up a little north for the first time to try to figure out some Maine smallies. Didn’t get to spend as much time on the water as I would have liked but had a great time with my woman and I’ll be going back to this lake to really dissect the water. Ended up with a few decent ones, largest of the day being a new PB of 3.04 shown here. You can see the tail is like bit up or something. Decent fish came on jigs and smaller ones were chasing crankbaits. I wanted to go deep and hunt for monsters but we never got out deep for long. Really can’t wait to get back out and up the PB. I marked a few spots while we were running along that looked like they might be good holding areas. The wind and waves were a little hard on our little boat but I’ll get back out there and tough it out soon enough.
  12. I hear you. Yeah when I started using braid I wasn't using a leader, but I started using one pretty quick. I don't think it adds to backlashes for me at all - and the little extra stretch seems to help on the hookset. I've caught more and better fish with braid and a leader than with straight braid as well, so it adds to my confidence to have a leader tied on. Thanks for stopping thru!

Nice man looks likes a great hole for some pigs to be hiding out!
  14. Great fish man! Sounds like a great time yankin em thru that mess!!
  15. Hell yeah man nice fish! Tell her way to go and the picture is great, she looks really happy! It's good to fish in comfort!!
  16. Nice man! I'm loving the monster in your second pic lol. Sorry about the lost fish, boy do I know what that's like. Are you using regular worm hooks on your wacky rigs? have you tried a flickin rig yet? When I was catching them on a flicking rig I noticed my hooksets were much stronger than I usually get with a regular worm hook. You may want to try it sometime. Not sure about the thermoclline. It's good that your really taking the time to figure out your electronics - it's gonna pay off!! Thanks for sharing!
  17. Hey guys thanks for the responses! I'm up in Bangor/Brewer area so Portland/Sebago is a little far but we can probably figure something out. Aren't there stripers running down there about now? I could probably take a road trip down there sometime either way. amitysanimal - Carmel is really close to me! We should definitely get together. I have a little 14'boat with electronics and some tackle, and I'm no expert but we should be able to find some fish! Have you tried Sebasticook? I've been wanting to go try that lake, I hear there are some trophy bass there. I think Etna and Hermon are supposed to be so-so as well. Let me know what you think and how your schedule is looking. Feel free to PM me! Thanks for the responses guys!
  18. Let's get together! It can't be that hard. lol let me just get ONE other Mainer that wants to go out and fish for some bass and the rest may fall in line. Let's get out and enjoy this sport we love so much together. The state's big but c'mon let's do this!! Represent!!!
  19. Of course man! Lure - 6" hudd trout in sliver/green Rod - Okuma Big Bait Rod 7'11" Extra Hvy (a little overkill but it was recommended here as a good swimbait rod to go with my reel - should have maybe gone a little lighter but this should be good for bigger baits and maybe light saltwater fishing) Reel - Shimano Calcutta 400b (got a great deal on this reel last year) Line - 50 lb braid w 20 lb mono leader All of this is a little much for the size of fish that took it lol but I'm out of here in less than a year and on to bigger and badder bass lol - a DD is in my future.
  20. Why thank you Ma'am, thank you very much
  21. Guess you can only post two vids per post so here's another impressive hudd vid. Like I said, say what you want about this guy and his whole ordeal but the fish are pretty big man.
  22. Yeah the hudd is ruined - 15 bucks wasted on a 3lb fish Hudd is short for Huddleston. Here's a link to the exact swimbait I lost http://www.***.com/Huddleston_Deluxe_6_Trout/descpage-HD6T.html I hear you about the smallies man. There are some good smallie fisheries about an hour away that I keep trying to get to - hopefully this weekend if the weather cooperates. Here are a few videos of some west coast lmb that came on hudds. The weights aren't verified and there's plenty of controversy about this guy and his fish, but regardless they're big fish. Hope all is well with you man!

yeah man I've been tweaking the sensitivity on mine too. I'm so new to all of this and have no one to really let me know the deal so it's kindof trial, error and online research lol. When I first started using it I was still primarily fishing shallow and i had my sensitivity pretty low - when it was too high I couldn't see anything, just a solid wall of color like your example with sensitivity at 11. I find you need to tweak it depending on your depth - as I moved deeper with the sensitivity still low I couldn't see any fish and barely any structure, basically the lake looked empty lol. But when I turned the sensitivity way up when deep all of a sudden I see the fish and much more structure. I chose not to turn fish id on. My other issue is that my transducer is on the transom so it's showing me basically what's behind the boat lol - eventually I'll have two transducers - one on the transom and one on the bow mounted trolling motor. But that might take a little time. Man if I were in VA we'd go out on the water and figure it all out together lol.
  24. lol that catfish just took a plain bare empty hook? That's crzy! What a huge fish man that's amazing thanks for sharing. Great looking bass too! Looks like you guys got a nice little honey hole going there. Did you weigh or measure the cat?
  25. Finally got a Hudd fish! Haven’t been throwing a hudd for too long but the one I’ve been throwing has been weedless. Decided to throw my non-weedless one today and finally hooked into a hudd fish. You can see in this shot how well it was hooked. I was stoked. Not the biggest fish but ok they do eat them. Kept throwing it for about 20 minutes and something felt weird on the cast. Reeled it in and I’m like what in the . . . So what these things last one fish?? So I had to change swimbaits and as I was switching up for some reason I threw out a curly tail on a shaky head. When I was finished tying up the new swimbait I pulled up the worm and right at the boat this little smallie hit it. Didn’t get any more bites but I was only out for a few hours. Had a great time and was glad to knock a hudd fish of the list, or soft swimbait fish at all for that matter.
