  4. Nitro - I will most likely be riding down with JSpoone, so i'll stay for the cookout. What should I bring? Zoff - Can you upload the first post with the cookout info so people can just refer back to the first post for all info instead of sifting through the thread? It will be easier to get info on the meetup/cookout. Looking forward to meeting everyone!
  5. My work schedule is clear. Put me down for non-boater. Thanks! This will be my first time on the lake catching LMB. Have been a handful of times catching stripers. :excited: Now I gotta downsize my tackle bag for this trip.
  6. Will check with work schedule and let everyone know if I can make it out!
  7. I really want to go, but will have to check with work schedule. Will be a non-boater.
  8. Clear water - Green pumpkin (although i've been using green pumpkin magic the last few months) Stained - Black and a side of JJ's Majic
  9. Went out to Lake Anna sunday morning to do catch striper. Only 2 keeper, think the small quake scared the fish the night before. We found a BIG school with nice fish, none of the rods tipped.....weird. Ran into another school and it got crazy. Took my gopro and got some footage. http://youtu.be/0_tL2wcUK-k
  10. I knew it was you Justin! lol, welcome to BR!
  11. Launched out of Bull Run sunday morning. Ramp was getting busy at 6am! Caught bass all on NS spinnerbaits in shallows. Couldn't get any hits on crankbaits. Started heading back to the dock and BAM! Thought I had a 10lb+ on my line. Nope, it was a cat Weighed in at 38-39lb,4ft long, released of course. I couldn't believe it didnt snap my 12lb line or bend the spinnerbait. Props to North Star Custom!
  12. I'd be throwing cranks or spinnerbaits if fish are at that depth. I'll be taking pops out monday, water should have cooled down a bit after that last few nights.
  13. I'm hopefully going out this weekend. It was been getting cooler the past week. I'll bring my ultralite rods just in case it gets tough and catch some slabs.
  14. I was out at the res saturday morning. Caught two in the morning at 5ft of water. Later in the day was ripping them by the dam. No hawgs, but 5 LMB at 12lb 14oz. Not too shabby since I haven't fished the res all year. All front shallow cranks and white/chart spinnerbaits.
  15. I haven't got a chance to fish burke this year.. Last time I went was last spring during the spawn. Caught 5 at 4+ lb.....they are in there, you just have to find them. Maybe i'll have time next weekend and fish there as I haven't during fall.
  16. triline big game, suffix seige, powerpro braid for me.
  17. welcome to the forums! A bunch of my friends went to VT and I use to go there on the weekends. There are some waters out there you can fish.
  18. eh, I wash my hand when I get back in and I haven't heard anyone say anything about it. They are more surprised that I caught bass out of the pond. Traffic isn't bad for me, I live 15mins away from work 8-)
  19. Decided to throw a line in the pond in front of my work during my lunch break. Third cast, BAM, pulled out a nice 3lb 5oz on a 10" worm. Caught a few more but nothing to talk about. Get's me curious to see if there is anything pigs in there...
  20. not sure of any after Lake Manassas closed down years ago. If you head west theres lake brittle, but theres a lot of fishing pressure there. A lot of walkable area on the right side of the pier
  21. wow, didn't think I would get so many replies... thanks for the warm welcome. Been reading a bunch of articles and have learned some things already!
  22. whats your presentation on the lures? Sometimes changing up presentation downsizing/slowing down a bit during the hot days will help. The only thing that should be spawning at this time is sunfish. Try throwing a crank (bluegill) and bouce it off the bottem a few times by the beds to see if it triggers a strike? Like the previous posts stated, try going early or later when the sun is going down. Hope this helps
