  1. sport fish vs non sport fish for some just means desirable species vs undesirable species. FWIW pike are considered a sport fish in Minnesota, along with all species of catfish, bullhead, panfish, and even carp and gar
  2. Probably right around turnover in your area. Our lakes just got over it and the fishing has been great this week with cooling water temps
  3. Think cost efficiency is going to be the biggest issue with treating them. One of our local lakes that has zebra mussels is supposedly going to try this stuff in their lake. I'm interested to see how their efforts go and hoping I can find out how much of the chemical it takes to treat their lake (200 acres roughly) and how much it cost. Several lakes in the area have the things. Even if it doesn't completely eradicate them, if they could kill off a majority of them at minimal cost that would be great.
  4. They're great over weeds or through areas where they aren't making contact with the bottom.
  5. I wish I could like this more than once. Great to hear your wife is doing better.
  6. I would guess either a golden shiner, fallfish, or some kind of chub.

  10. Welcome to the forum!
  11. Still have yet to break an Academy H2O squarebill, and I abuse those ones worst than any other. I've even smacked them off the trolling motor on the cast a few times, which is usually a death sentence, still going strong.
  12. School doesn't guarantee anything either. My wife has a college degree and I don't, I make twice what she does and don't have a bunch of debt to pay off. I would go if you can afford it, just keep in mind that it guarantees nothing.
  13. I night fish a lot during the summer to avoid the heat and crowds and rely almost completely on 3 baits; 1.Dark colored bladed jig 2.Dark colored jig 3.Dark colored ribbontail worm between 7.5 and 15 inches
  14. Zoom swimming flukes and Keitech swing impacts. I make my own rigs and heads but I like the ones with spinners on the arms.
  15. Welcome to the forums! A soft plastic stick worm like a senko is a great bait to catch pond bass when nothing else will.
  16. I've been pretty happy with the Red Label and InvisX.
  17. I had one a long time ago and it was still a great rod when I sold it. If you can get them on a sale the Academy Ethos rods are great rods for the money. I have 8 of them and have zero complaints.
  18. Rain I have no problem with, when lightning starts to get close I get out of there.
  19. Gonna be COLD in the morning boys! Dress appropriately! That means no two pieces Blake!
  20. Didn't weigh or measure any but had a bunch in the 15-17 inch range and all very fat.
  21. Jared and I fished it yesterday, rain seemed to have no effect on them.
  22. That's what I was using. Odd though, I've been using 10lb/2lb diameter on my shakyhead rod with zero issues. Maybe the lighter rod and the fact I use a leader with that one is cushioning the line enough to prevent those issues.
  23. Very true, make sure it's okay before using them.
  24. Yep, lowest total winning weight in Bassmaster Classic history. Was an AWESOME classic to watch though. I always love it when every decision is critical and every ounce is so important. You could feel the tension through the TV watching those guys catch those tiny little bass that they'd normally be disappointed with.
