We've had a couple inches of rain this last week that should help it out a little bit. You could always fish Wolf Creek/Coffey County, more species of fish and a bigger lake but a little more of a hassle to fish. You can always check out the local fishing forums and under the central reports there is a running thread for KC area guys and there's reports for La Cygne pretty often.

They will work but I prefer more natural colors in clear water but if that's what works I'd stick with it.

Anyone used the new Rick Clunn Luck e Strike jerkbaits yet? I'd seen them online but BPS got some in and I got my hands on one. $7.99 and they look and feel exactly like the megabass vision.

The way the water is looking down there now you may not be able to launch a boat on LaCygne this winter, it's about 10 feet low and only 1 boatramp is usuable right now.

If someone I'm fishing with is continually casting past that imaginary line that the guy in the back of the boat isn't supposed to cast past, I'll let my bait sit until they cast over my line and when I feel them pulling I give it a good jerk. It give me a little laugh and usually gets my point across to not cast so far in front of the boat

If you can find it DAM tectan line is some of the best ultra light line you can get. It may be hard to find but it is well worth it if you can find it. All of the other lines will work fine though.

I've had a couple of the 1.0's for a few weeks now and have caught several fish on them. Got mine at BPS also. The 1.0 is a fairly small crank but it's still big enough to fish on a baitcasting gear.

I get all my ice fishing gear at Cabela's, but that isn't saying much since I rarely ice fish.

I've held several Rage rods and have yet to find one that all the guides are lined up straight, some of them are way off! I love the feel of the rods but for $150 the guides should at least be straight I believe Big O also broke one at the reel set but that may have just been due to the whales he's trying to horse through brushpiles on braid

I would want it to be at least 80% but some days the fish don't go by what I'd like them to.

I have several of last years curado and they are great reels. I've heard lots of good things about the Lew's also though. I haven't fished with either rod you mentioned but if I was getting one for myself I'd probably go with the Dobyn's.

From what I've heard fish don't associate the noise of an outboard motor with danger because nothing bad happens to them when they hear that sound and it actually may help them for a couple seconds to ambush prey by stirring mud, knocking craws loose from weeds or trees etc. The pulses of a trolling do seem to have a negative impact on fish biting.

I've heard the whites are going good at Melvern but haven't heard much about the smallmouth. Last time we went a few weeks ago we caught lots of smallmouth on cranks and jerkbaits but no size at all.

I'd pop the extra for a Supreme XT. I have one in the 35 size on a 6' 8" M LTB and it's by far the nicest spinning combo I've ever used. It really balances the rod out well and is surprisingly light for a larger reel.

I use a 7' M/F for an all around trap rod.

I catch a lot of my fish at the powerplant lakes right on the bank but catch them out to about 15' of water. The biggest thing at one of them I fish is shad. The other one I fish has to have current.

I use 15-20 pound mono around heavy cover for moving baits with no problems, if it works for you then go with it.

I did alright with the little john I had until I got bit off this summer with it. They have good action but I really had it during the wrong time of the year to give it a fair test.

Ever seen Gary Yamamoto fish one? Maybe he fishes circle hooks but the guy just lifts and starts reeling and it seems to work well for him. Personally I set like a regular T-rig if that's how it's rigged. I use a quick snap set on a wacky rig.

I also like the 78 pointer but I did really well with the Xcalibur Erratic shad this winter in the power plant lake that I fish. It outproduced my pointers and caught my PB of the year also.

We're right there with you down in Kansas. Try that shallower water first, that's where the more active fish will be. Start with faster moving baits and then to the slower baits. If nothing is shallow then start working the first breaks into deeper water. They should still be feeding but will probably be close to the deepest water in their wintering areas.

Too many to count I had a couple days north of 100 fish and a few days that were close. There were lots of tough days mixed in there too but it's been a good year with low water and concentrated fish.

Nice haul Chris! I got a report on La Cygne a couple days ago from a dependable source. Said the lake was about 10 feet low now. He fished for 6 hours and had 1 bite but it was an 8 pounder, caught it on a jig. Hopefully they're getting some of this rain down there to help bring the lake up a little bit before winter.

Man a bassboat is nice but it's nothing compared to a family that's glad to have you at home.
