  1. X2 since i fish small lakes and ponds i can usually fish all around with one lure, if it isnt working ill switch.
  2. yea my dad hammers the walleye on them, his friend caught a 13 pounder.
  3. i live in ross by mccknight road, if you ever fished north park lake they drained it to get silt out, wont be done for another year or so. Now if i want to go local i need to go to marshall lake by NP ice skating rink or out in pine township they have a lake packed with nice bass. Have you ever fished the 3 rivers? got any good spots for me to check out? i was just fishing the ohio at the emsworth dam but didnt catch anything
  4. i found this Rapala, i think its about 5 and a half inches. It looks like a baby northern pike. But i don't know what id catch on it, it dives 4-14 feet. Could i use it for LM? are they that picky? i also fish for small mouth maybe they would go after it. But what do you guys think?
  5. i like that, looks roomy and its on amazon for $110. looks alot more stable, maybe i can fly fish out of it on ponds... how much are trolling motors? and say im fishing alone with out a trolling motor, do you think this would be difficult to paddle around because the size of it?
  6. i just read it and i like it a lot too, this helps me to realize i just cant fish my spinner baits and plastics all the time!!! im planning to get better with tubes, topwaters, and crankbaits. now the ice needs to melt...
  7. why are long rods preferred? do they allow you to pitch farther?
  8. that looks awesome but i need a 2 seater, that looks as comfortable as fishing out of a bass boat like bill dance how he just sits on that seat lol
  9. I hear you on the peaking issues. Last year was just a tough year on erie for most everyone except for the one guy who pulled an 8lber. Saw that picture. I can tell the fish are there confirmed by commercial fisherman net hauls. We just didn't get the quality we are used to catching. My theory is that there was too much bait in the system. This year should tell the story if things improve. Most guys think we are spoiled fisherman because we complain about catching four & five ponders but not any or many sixes. Maybe we should blame it on global warming. lol i wish i had 5 and 6 pounders around here, lol! i fish slippery rock creek for smallies. my PB was like 18 inch 3lb i think
  10. I have had a baitcaster for about 6 months now, nothing special its a Field and Stream Verado 601 Med action rod. I only got it because i asked some guys which rod/reel they would choose, i was looking at the Abu Garcia MAX combo ( i love Garcia Spinning reels!) and they looked at both and told me to get the field and stream, and for only i think 70$ i really like it for a first time baitcasting man. But the gear ration is 6:2:1, i never paid attention to this but is it a fast or slow retrieving reel and i know some people prefer lower or higher retrieving reels for certain things, so what would this one be best for? thanks
  11. she will love fishing once you get her into some good fishing, whether it be bass or sunfish/bluegill. I think people can lose there interest if they arent catching alot so just hook her up on a bobber witha meal worm or night crawler and you go for bass. I remember sun fish fishing was what turned me on to fishing. I caught 130 in 3 hours
  12. Im looking into getting a inflatable kayaks for some fairly small lakes around my house, we already have a canoe and it can be annoying and hard to transport, especially for short trips were we could bring an inflatable. Some of these say they are for fishing but how durable are they? what if my hook gets stuck in it? lol also should i get a sit on top or sit in? here are the two i was deciding between. http://www.amazon.com/Sevylor-Inflatable-Sit-On-Top-Kayak-2-Person/dp/B003659NYA/ref=cm_cr_pr_sims_t http://www.amazon.com/Sevylor-Tahiti-Fishing-Hunting-Inflatable/dp/B003652EQY/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1298216867&sr=8-6 thanks

i got a couple X-Rap shallow diving shads for like 3 or 4 dollars at my sportmans expo. The only rapalas i have used are the floating rapalas, the countdowns, and the rattle traps. Are these good? will they work for SM too?
  14. yea, they arent even senko imitators at all, totally new design ive never seen. You can really work these well! but they do make stick baits like senkos which work just as well but less money
  15. also dont you think senkos are a bit overpriced? yea they produce but they dont stand up very long at all, seem to get torn easily. im giving zoom trick worms a try
  16. Isn't that how you wacky rig anyway? P.S. Thanks for the idea, but I am sticking with my senkos regardless. I'm sick of "new" senko imitators coming up every few weeks. well i never did, but im sure alot of people did that way, thought it was cool. Keep senkos in your box but just give these a try, seriously amazing
  17. Wow, way to start fights. lol. check them out, they produce
  18. ok guys, i dont know how many of you have every used case plastics. But at my recent sportmans expo, i talked to the man who i think was one of the makers. I bought his wackie jack and if you like to wacky rig, you better have this or your crazy! and get his wacky tool, it is a rubber band systems so your not putting your hook through the worm and makes it last so much longer, cause when you catch one the rubber band slides up the line with the worm and doesnt let the bass get it! check out his products http://madtoms.com/ ;D better than senkos 8-)
  19. I need to add some soft plastics to my arsenal. as of now i have some 4" senkos and 4" brush hogs also zoom horny toads. the only one ive fished hard with is the senko, and it is amazing! i never really used plastics before and was worried about presentation, but i did what people said and they just flat out work. My fav is the senko, how bout yours? (add color and length, please. i will look into buying some of them)
  20. i just got a starter kit for fly fishing. now its winter and i have no idea what fly to use or how to present it. soon it will be spring. I know you have to "match the hatch" for flies but could you just give me the basics on what flies will produce and how to use them, do i let them sink or do i let it set for a couple seconds and recast it. i know how to cast and stuff and i saw how to use the wooley bugger, for nypmths they said you have to use a strike indicator, it looks like a bobber for fly fishing but im unsure. please educate me about using flies and that kind of stuff. thanks!!!
  21. Have any of you done alot of fishing on the upper Allegheny, around Tionesta or Oil City, i fished there once with my friends a couple years ago, just for pan fish. But my dad tells me how its incredible small mouth fishing. One of his friends caught a 13 lb walleye, thats prettttty big. If you had any experience or pics from fishing there share em' ;D
  22. how long am i fishing here for this one 9 pounder
