  1. On private land yes.On federal land which us what I'm hunting on you can only use dogs and knives at night.
  2. I have broken numerous video game controllers while dog cussing my tv. When playing sports games, and doing poorly. Somehow after having to buy my last two controllers all my football and basketball games turned up missing. Right after my wife was doing a spring cleaning.
  3. Ain't that how it goes.
  4. A chain works better than a knife. It allows you to get some distance. I ain't talking about some goofy wallet chain. I'm talking about a 24 or 28 inch logging chain. Something that weighs about four or five pounds with a Master Lock on the end of it. I carried one for years. Still do on occasion. Hard to stick someone when your eye sockets are shattered. They call chains "Smileys" for a reason.
  5. Anything that "chatters" by chance?
  6. I have been tracking this family of pigs for the past three weekends. I've seen them four different times and have been unable to get a clear shot as of yet. That ends tomorrow. The temperature is dropping into the 50s tonight so the swine should be active for a longer period of time tomorrow. I've found a very viable waylay point for them and will be posting up at it before dawn. I figure if nothing happens by nine or ten AM, I will go back to stalking them. After the week I have had I am going solo tomorrow morning. I'm bringing my PSE SS, my .22mag snake blaster, and my trusty KaBar Bacon Maker. No other firearms and no back up. If I don't bust its lungs with that first shot I may have hell to pay. I may have one hell of a story to tell y'all too, afterwards.
  7. You give sound advice. I always look forwars to hearing yoyr perspective on things like this.
  8. Who would have thought. I woulda figured it was nutritious.
  9. Nope I've looked into it though. The union is weak down here. It directly affects the wages too. I would prefer a stronger union then what we have. It makes the wages go up.
  10. A little port o jon poetry for you. Edited somewhat. You can figure it out. This is in response to the low life that took nine rolls of TP from the outhouse at work last night. Without further ado. Here I sit amongst the vapors. Some mother ______ stole all the toilet paper. The heat is bad. The smell is worse. If I stay much longer I will leave in a hearse. I must not wait. I must not linger. Watch out _____ _____ here comes the finger!
  11. That is going on a tshirt! As well as the port o jon wall tomorrow.
  12. Nope ain't Union. I'm what the union refers to as a rat. And am d**n proud of it! Out of curiosity though. What sounds union about my situation. I ain't being a snark. I'm just curious.
  13. As mad as I am about the insurance and the money. It all comes back to who you know. My current boss is friends with my old boss. The one from the company I'm waiting to get back on with. Unless things work out better with one of these newer companies. I want back to where I was before I started working here, they just don't have enough work currently. I may not be loyal to my new boss. However, I am loyal to the other employees I work with. I don't want to just leave them up and hanging. I figure I'm going to give my 2 weeks and just go from there. Two of the three will start me on a days notice. So I figure I might as well try an do the right thing. There ain't no turning back from leaving. I can't take a 500 dollar a month pay cut, right now. Least not for any longer. Commercial pays horrible. Industrial pays good. Heavy Industrial can make you rich. Most importantly though. I'm not enjoying the work anymore. I dread going to work in the mornings. Commercial work is boring to me. I hate MC cable and by God we run tons of it! I love my trades and I enjoy going to work. I like coming home filthy and tired at the end of the day. It makes me feel like I am accomplishing something. I just don't enjoy commercial work anymore. Heavy Industrial is where I am happiest. It took this venture away from Industrial to figure it out. So I guess this was just a learning experience for me. I did learn a few new things while I was here. I made some new friends and connections. Got to do some soul searching as far as what line of electrical I want to be in. Which in my opinion makes it a worth while experience. Nothing ventured nothing gained. It cost me 2 grand to learn these lessons. However I should make it back in a few months time elsewhere. So I guess y'all are right. I ain't gonna burn the bridge. Its just 2 weeks time before I can get on with my life.
  14. Alright fellas here is the question. I have offers coming in from three prospective employers this week and next week. All three are from Heavy Industrial companies. For the non contractors. That is big pipe, big wire, big steel, insane voltages, and regular high voltage (480 volts AC), high up working, and dirty brutal work conditions. All three companies sound like heaven on earth to me. Especially the one that does steel erection and electrical. 150 feet up connecting steel is like a soggy dream. Its surreal. Aint nothing more exciting then walking the steel. It is a rush unlike any other. Plus I get to run 6in rigid pipe and loads of other fun goodies! Back on topic though. My current boss still ain't taken care of my insurance its been a month and a half and still zilch. I was lied to about my wages to boot. Is it required I give a two week notice? Or can I just tell them I'm done and leave? I mean I don't see the financial sense in staying an extra two weeks and losing money. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
  15. I just got a job offer to be an industrial refrigeration mechanic. I guess being a journey man electrician and welder qualifies me for this somehow. I ain't a metal knocker, a pipe fighter, or a HVAC tech. So how the hell do I qualify for this position?
  16. My feist was (who is female), was playing with our neighbors rat terrier (who is a male). She went and ticked on a flower in the garden. About thirty seconds later he went and ticked on the same flower. Well apparently this was a no no, because she followed behind him and marked the flower again. Well much to my surprise he decided that he wanted the flower and did like wise. This went on for a good 30 minutes. Both dogs drowning this flower one after the other. It was a literal ticking contest. Eventually it got to the point where both dogs were empty and were just going through the motions. Everyone was rolling on the ground laughing at these two. Well we figured this could go on all night, when my brothers hound came up and ate the dang flower leaves and all. Both dogs looked surprised by this turn of events. So I pose the question. Who's flower was it?
  17. "Hate begets hate; violence begets violence; toughness begets a greater toughness." Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Not his interpretation. However I feel it justifies what I'm trying to say. “HATE FOR HATE — AND RUTH FOR RUTH, EYE FOR EYE — AND TOOTH FOR TOOTH, SCORN FOR SCORN — AND SMILE FOR SMILE, LOVE FOR LOVE — AND GUILE FOR GUILE, WAR FOR WAR, — AND WOE FOR WOE, BLOOD FOR BLOOD — AND BLOW FOR BLOW.” Ragnar Redbeard This sums it up best of all!
  18. I've dealt with bullies my whole life. Dangdest thing about it though none of them were bigger than me. It is always the small wanna be badass that comes gunning. It happened in elementary and middle school, now it happens at bars. Hence why I only go to one bar now. Anyway. I discovered long ago that if you beat the first guy to the floor and beat him bad enough. Then the next ten guys will think twice before trying it. I didn't put up with kids bullying other kids at school when I was there, and I don't put up with it now. I don't want the bully to respect me. I want him to hate and fear me. 29 years in it has worked out quite well. That is the lessons I'm trying to bestow upon my son. You don't start a fight physically, but by God you end it if it does get physical. You DO NOT pick on people, don't follow the crowd. You stand up for the little man. Some of my best friends to this day are "nerds", that I stood up for and kept people from picking on. Violence may not be the best option. But it is still an option. -Thorin-
