Fly Fishing Stick
Raider Nation Fisher replied to Raider Nation Fisher's topic in Fishing Rods, Reels, Line, and KnotsThe Crisium is a 8'6" 4/5 weight. I used the Okuma website to learn this. I'm gonna check with my brother in law tomorrow to see what weight the one he has is. He also uses it as a spinning rod.

Homie don't say that. I've heard the expression before but still. Some may call me shallow, but I told my wife if she EVER gets that big I'll leave her. I'm sorry but I'm at 294 lbs. right now and she (my Mil) out weighs me. And before I get ripped on its not a condition it pure and simple laziness. Granted she is losing some weight now, but still.

Fly Fishing Stick
Raider Nation Fisher replied to Raider Nation Fisher's topic in Fishing Rods, Reels, Line, and KnotsThe rod I got last night is a 5wt. As I have now just discovered. I have no clue what the one at home that I was using as a spinning rod is. I'll get that info up after I get back home. Also you hit it dead on the head, if it swims I'll fish for it. Be it freshwater or Salt. I can't wait to try this rod out on the water. Playing in the backyard with it has just made me that much more excited.

Cowboys Fan's Anonymous.
I'm so stoked about that! And he was endorsed to us by none other than Mr. Madden and Mr. Wolf. Both of whom were around in the Raiders glory days. Even if we did lose to the Steelers for four straight years in the playoffs and the Dolphins one of those years also. I'm hopefull that with Father Davis out of the picture now Oakland can get back to those good ol days with Coach Jackson and our new GM.

Some filthy hick beat me to the store by 30minutes and loaded a cart down with all 54 of them that they had in stock. Then the dirty wanker wouldn't even let me have one when I politely asked him. However all was not lost. When he left his cart at the end of the aisle to go look @ some lures I snatched 1 and high tailed it to the check out.

Fly Fishing Stick
Raider Nation Fisher replied to Raider Nation Fisher's topic in Fishing Rods, Reels, Line, and KnotsThanks homie that helps a lot. 2 questions. Do I just spool it up with fly line like a regular reel? Also around how much leader should I use, or is it just kind of a personal preference?

Mother In Laws
Four fricken weeks of planning down the drain. My wife is about to turn 30, the way she's taking it you'd think she was turning a hundred. (Some of you dirty old men wish you were 30 again don't cha?) Anyway, she mentioned a few years back that she has always wanted a surprise party. One in which she is truely surprised. Well I had it worked out finally. She was none the wiser about any of it. We were going to have it this upcoming Sunday. Under the guise that my parents were having a late anniversary party. Two more days to go and I'm in the home stretch and she expects nothing. Then last night I made my fatal error. I invited her parents. It didn't even take her mom 24 hours after finding out to get completely obliterated, and call my wife to ask if she knew she was having a surprise party on Sunday. I honestly can say I was completely speechless. I wanted to call to the whole thing off but my wife says that only hurts her not my MIL (who has now been informed there is no party). I figure I'll just let everyone else enjoy themselves and they can find out about it later.

Fly Fishing Stick
My buddy at work has finally convinced me to try fly fishing. Here's the info I have, with a few questions included. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Target(s): bass, bream, and anything else that I can catch in Alabama. Line: I have no clue what to get. All the boxes had strange numbers on them. Other line: appearently I need to put four different kinds on. I think I'm more confused about the line then probably anything else. Stick: Some kind of Okuma, I believe it is a Crisium. (it wasnt the cheapest stick I saw or the most expensive) Strange Disc like Device: Also Okuma (I've been really impressed with their reels, so figured I'd try their Disc looking thing). Putting it all together: I've got the disc and stick connected, as for the rest of it I'm completely lost as to what to get. Again any and all advice is much appreciated.

There's no.denying that LSU was/is good this year. They've impressed me with their most all year. Alas as a Auburn fan I can't help but dislike em. Also your not the LSU fan I'm trying to bait. I figure he should be along before too much longer. And I'm pretty sure you know who I'm referring to.

That would definitely be preferable. The Bama fans are quite obnoxious especially in AL. However LSU fans are without a doubt more so. Plus I'm really just tired of hearing about how "great" Bama is.
-
Any Sooner Fans Here?
I thought it was mainly SEC fans lead by a couple of overly obnoxious LSU fans. Guess you learn something new everyday.

LSU. Only because I hate them slightly less than Bama.

Wileyx Sunglasses
I got two pairs of the Costa 580 glasses. One is the green glass the other is the blue. The blue are waiting for me to acquire the money to send them off for repair. Anyway the Costas are amazing. The polarization is night and day between my old Oakley's and the other polarized glasses I've tried. Side note. DO NOT wear them without a Costas keeper or sunglass leash. DO NOT let them fall from your head and land on a ceramic tile floor (my blue pair). DO NOT let a two year old grab them off a table, put them on and then trip down a stair and land on them (my first green pair). But on the plus side, if you do break them ship them back for repair, and they'll usually charge a hundred or less to have them fixed or send you a new pair for a few dollars more than the repair price.

What Is The Best Way To Kill A Fish?
Catfish are generally the only fish we bleed out. Unless my buddies mom The Ginsu Master is filleting them. She gets em filleted before the first blood can hit the ground. Woman is like a machine.

Stupid Random Thought For Today
So I remember reading in the news a while back that a certain organization wants everyone to refer to fish as Sea Kittens. My question is this. What if the fish doesn't live in the ocean? Is it then named for whatever body of water it is caught in? IE: Lake Kittens, Creek Kittens, River Kittens, etc etc. Or do you put the its name in front of Sea Kitten? IE: Bass Sea Kitten, Pike Sea Kitten, Hammerhead Shark Sea Kitten, etc. Like I said its just a stupid random thought. So what do yall think? I think they should be named for the type of water body they were caught from. I also think I may have put way too much thought into this.

Quantum Exo Or Revo Premier Or Curado 200E Or Lew's Speed Spool?
That's what mine is. I like that little reel a lot. It has served me very well, still does actually. Now come on and make that jump to the Calcutta. I promise you'll never look back from it.
