  1. Yeah the picture taking can be hard. That's the biggest downside for me. That girl has gone and stirred the biggest hornets nest in regards to this now. Apparently she made some kind of comment to my wife and other sister in law about it this morning, and they have teamed up on her now. My other brother in law fishes mostly salt water, and fishes as much as I do. If he didn't live five hours from me, we would go together. Still this has obviously become a sister battle now. I'm kind of curious to see how it pans out.
  2. That was absolutely hysterical about the cow. My wife almost wet herself when I read that to her.
  3. My brother in law, whom I do the bulk of my fishing with, or I should say the bulk of my fishing with another person with. (we go out every Friday evening and fish for about six hours) Informed me today he isn't going to be able to go with me anymore for a while. My sister inlaw is livid with him for going off with me until twelve to two am on Fridays. It's gotten so bad anytime he goes with me they have a huge knockdown drag out fight, be it Friday night or whenever. Heck she stormed out of the house and left earlier tonight when he brought it up that he wanted to go with me. I kind of feel bad for inviting him to go with me sometimes. However. I prefer to; and seem to do my best fishing when it is just me. I love being out on the water or at the pond alone. It is complete and utter relaxation for me. I guess I view it as win win for me. He either lays down the law, or I get to go alone. I'm so happy my wife let's me fish, without complaining or fighting with me about it. I guess I definitely married the better of the two sisters.
  4. My brother inlaw inforemed me a few weeks ago that we might be able to hunt on his uncles farm, a couple hours east of bham. I thought to myself Heck yeah what can be better than a free place to go hunt deer. Yesterday while getting ready to go fish, he tells me his uncle has ok'd us to bow hunt the land, but no guns for deer due to neighbors being near by. (A quarter mile down the road) Still no biggie, I'd rather bow hunt anyway. He did mention that we could gun hunt for all the coyotes up around the area, and he'd pay us 25 dollars per yote. Nice deal. Today He tells me his uncle doesn't mind as long as we don't let his four year old daughter or wife see us kill a deer or coyote, apparently they think bambi is cute. Also he doesn't want them seeing any dead critters if we do kill one. So I ask when all his aunt and uncle go up there. To which I am told, Oh almost every weekend. Now how the Heck am I supposed to hunt if I can't kill an animal for fear that a forty eight year old woman or four year old child may see me either drop the animal or bring the dead animal out of the woods? I somehow get the feeling I'm not going to be going up there more than once.
  5. Now that sounds up my ally. Hand to hand combat with ol' Mr black bear. According how it panned out that could be the biggest adrenaline rush ever.
  6. Amen to that brother! Great post. It seriously brought a tear to my eye. For all that were lost or injured your memory lives on, and you will not be forgotten.
  7. Really I just liked the look of the Soul. My biggest problem with the smaller cars has been cabin room. I'm 6'2" 304 lbs. And my knees are starting to go out from when I played football. The thing that has me looking at the Soul, rav4, and other box like cars, is that they seem to be roomier than the small cars are. I've had a civic and my wife has a focus. Both are great cars I just feel cramped in them. Plus after an hour to thirty minutes of driving them my knees start hurting. If my 4runner was paid off i would definately keep it. After looking at the Soul last night, I very well might end up keeping the 4runner. While it was roomy. I can't help but feel like a bear in the circus while driving and exiting the car. Looks like its back to the hunt for a car.
  8. I'm thinking I might trade my 4runner in for a KIA Soul. The savings in gas alone would be phenominal. Only question is, will it withstand the rigors of my fishing and hunting excursions. I'm not saying I want to take it off road. It seems as if it would hold my fishing gear fairly well. However will it work on gravel and unpaved surfaces?
  9. The more I think about it the less satisfied I am with deer hunting. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy it. I just get bored with it I guess. Gun hunting for deer is out for me now. I don't find a challenge to it anymore. I just can't find the fun in blasting a deer from over two hundred yards. Now stalking them with my longbow or horsebow is still pretty fun for me. Still I want to hunt something bigger. I'm thinking black bear in Tennessee, could give me the thrill I seek. However, I'm not exactly sure which of my rifles to go with though. Buying a new firearm is out due to the money involved with said investment, cutting into my fishing budget. Which takes priority over any other hobbies. Both my bows shoot at over a hundred pounds, I'm not quite sure that would be sufficient though. I don't recall having ever heard of bow hunting for bear before. Rifle wise I have my trusty .308 Remington 700, and my .338 Barrett M98B. Personally I would prefer to use one of my bows. However, If the bow is not sufficient I hope one of these two rifles will work.
  10. I've had one for about four months now. And love it. It fishes great. Id put it up there with some of my more expensive rods. I currently have mine paired up with PLS 150, and use it mainly for top water. From what I've experienced with mine its quite the durable little rod. If the Academys down here could just keep them in stock Id have a few more of them. For the first month after they came out they were only shipping like a ten a week to the stores. Now they're shipping more and still selling out of them.
  11. Wow everyone hating on Father Al. Awwww who am I kidding I love the Silver and Black, and dislike most of the decisions that he makes. I swear that the man is like a roach. He just won't die or go away.
  12. I think the last three minutes of my tigers game was the best I've seen in a while. It's the luck of the tiger homie. War ____ Eagle! I'm still in awe that we actually won that game. Our offensive line was horrid. But our qb looks to be very promising.
  13. Back to the old country. Ukraine. In second place Finland. In third place the fatherland. Germany.
  14. Ahh. my mistake. Children and wives definately sap the money away. Just outta curiosity, was the national guard the reason for your leaving the granite job? Sounds to me like that would be the ideal place to be be at. Then again a copter mechanic would be some phat bank.
  15. That's strange. I've never heard of one doing that before. Unless its trying to get you to sync it up with an iTunes account on a computer. As for the phone not making calls. I'd advise calling Apple about it. They have always gone above and beyond, with any problems I have had with my Apple products.
  16. I feel you there brother. My wife is such a skin flint she can squeeze blood from a stone. Woman would as soon have us lose our house and go hungry if it would save her a dime. My inlaws are the laziest people you'd ever wanna meet. I'm not saying it are lazy, by any means. Heaven forbid someone other than my mother unlawful, take off work. The woman gets more "mysterious" illness' and injuries than anyone on Gods green earth. The father in law just spends every dime and then some that they get. The man spent over 15000 on six computers and a twenty foot tall television antenna. Neither of them cleans their house. The place smells like a porta loo, from all the cat and dog urine and skat that's all over it. Yeah four cats, a yorkie, and some kind of miniature rabbit my sister in law HAD to have, live in that house. It's so bad we won't even allow my son to go over there. I wouldn't sweat being 21 and broke. When I was twenty one I wasn't even making 28g a year. The money will come with time. Just be patient and enjoy life. Which it sounds to me like your doing a good job of. And as for blowing through 20g with nothing to show for it. It happens or has happened to all of us. I'm guilty of it and am willing to bet most everyone on this site is as well. It's all a part of being young. Granted I only gotcha by 6 years, but still.
  17. Take the time, homie. From the time my son was 3 weeks old until he was 1yr 4months old, I only saw him on weekends and holidays. We were working between 5 to 6 twelve hour days a week over the course of that time. He was asleep when I left for work at 5am and asleep when I got home at 7pm. I missed out on dang near the entire first year and a half of his life, because of work. I would gladly give the money back if I could get that time back with him. Son your gonna be gone for over a year. You best enjoy the Heck outta the time you have with them, before you leave. At least I was able to watch him sleep after I got home. Heck I'll make you a deal. You take the time off, and ill give you the 600 when you get back. Money ain't everything. Your gonna go fight for me, this country, and everyone on this board. It's the least I can do to, say thanks. Now get them boys out there and catch some fish, son.
  18. I believe it is the pink hooks.

  24. I'd go with the pro qualifier. Until I upgraded that was what I used. Worked like a champ too.
  25. The thread about the wooden iPad got me to thinking. What's the strangest thing, you've ever had someone on the street, be it vendor or bum, try to sell you? Let's try and keep it clean. Mine was about two years ago. I had a guy come up to me trying to sell universal remotes. No kidding. The man was hawking universal tv remotes.
