  1. I have a lot of BPS stuff. 8-) Extreme, Carbonlite, and Pro Qualifier rods, and Extreme and Pro Qualifier reels. The Pro Qualifier rods and reels are my favorites, but I like the Carbonlite rods just fine. I would probably try a Carbonlite reel if they made them in left hand.
  2. I do the same. Having only one knot to tie when on the water makes it faster and less likely to get in a hurry and mess one up. Check your line often. Knots are not an issue. 8-)
  3. Mike I completely agree. Just regular folks from a different culture. I respect their way of life. Many watch and feel superior; most are not.
  4. Am I the only one that nearly jumped out of my skin the first couple of times I was "congratulated?" There should be a law against such things. :
  5. I've always considered you to be very ...colorful. Some of you guys have interesting lives. At this point in my life reading of the adventures of others is my hobby. : I do like reading, writing, politics (mostly as a critic), theology, and good food. Lately I'm into handguns. I am armed and dangerous. :-? FWIW Bassn Blvd has lasted a very long time as a pimp. He has been doing it for at least 4 or 5 years that I know of. That is a lifetime in his business.
  6. Welcome aboard. ;D You may be on double top secret probation. So secret that even you can't know. It is also possible a mistake has occurred. PM Glenn or one of the Mods. They will let you know (unless it is the probation thing).
  7. My prayers are also for you and your mother.

I respect your opinion and passion for animals. I believe taking the life of, or putting a human life in danger is a far more egregious act than taking the life of an animal. As long as we eat animals for food, and hunt/catch animals for sport it would be hard to compare one to the other IMO. To justify driving under the influence by saying once under the influence the person is no longer responsible for his/her actions does not have merit. Tell that to the person who has lost 1-4 loved ones to a drunk driver. Had Vick drank to excess, beaten up his wife/gf or both, gotten rough with a stripper, wrecked his Escalade, and been arrested for DUI he would never had done any real jail time. He may have been suspended for a few games. My point is many would send Vick away for life (or worse) for involvement in dog fighting, while some of those same people cry for leniency for many other crimes esp when it comes to athletes/celebrities. Dog fighting is a brutal, barbaric activity that should not be allowed. So are sexual abuse and domestic violence. That Vick go to jail for animal abuse (as he should have) because of public outcry, while others go free of crimes I find more pervasive and destructive confuses me.
  9. I am with Goose and everyone else; it is definitely worth what you pay for it. One extended trip that ends with plenty of TM power left in the tank, and you will appreciate the difference.
  10. I use both. I like the PQ better. Just personal preference. I have several PQ reels. They do everything I need from a baitcast reel. I see no need for anything else. Just my opinion.

I'm already fat. : Do not tempt me your pornographic food shots. Fortunately there are no Chick-Fil-As anywhere close. I read that one is now open in the St. Louis area though. Maybe a field trip...

I have a lot of respect for him coming back and playing well. I think dog fighting is despicable, but there are worse things done by sports figures who end up with a slap on the wrist. Domestic violence, sexual assault and worse may get a suspension and fine, but no jail time. Dog fighting doesn't seem all that bad by comparison. Just my opinion.
  13. Grimlin I'm sure you're right that the helmet cam bouncing around distorted how it looked compared to two eyes being processed by the brain. The free climbing, and the maneuvering at the top of the tower stretch the margin a little too much for me. You're probably right though, when I was young and bullet proof I would have done it. :
  14. I've never had any issue working at heights that could kill me. I have always said I'm just too dumb to worry about it, and once you get past the second floor, how high didn't matter. With that said, even in my younger crazier days I would not do that. About half way through the video I thought I was going to have to take a Dramamine for motion sickness. That is another one of those jobs that make you appreciate the one you have.
  15. Abbey Road- the Beatles. First one I bought with my own money. Completely wore it out. You could do that back in the old days.
  16. I bought the X-Tools scale last year "on sale" for $80. I have been happy with it.
  17. I have not used those models, but the chunks, craws and T-Mac worm (very similar to the Trickworm) are excellent baits. I would be surprised to find a poor quality NetBait product.
  18. With the right line and rod it does a nice job.
  19. My first thought was, it is an off-road segway. My second thought was an old fat guy should not have one. I can hurt myself walking, let alone on a 30mph segway. New Angler I think Bosiun Doogenstarch is Austrian.
  20. OhioBassmaster that was a Seinfeld reference. I thought it funny. Sometimes I think stuff is funny when it really isn't according to my wife. I guess the old cliche that if you wait long enough everything will come back into style is correct. I didn't much like this style the first time around.
  21. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
  22. Micro the competition for that picture is fierce. I put a new belt on the vacuum cleaner yesterday. I took the old one off and dropped it on the floor. I put the new one on, set the vac down and turned it on, running over the old belt and burning the new one in two. My wife then asked me why I did that? A few bucks, a 30 mile round trip to WalMart, and an hour and a half later the vac was ready to go. :-[
  23. I have been a little reluctant to post on this thread. The level of sophistication of both the conversation and some of the items purchased is a little intimidating. I've added a couple of new handguns and a shotgun to my Second Amendment collection, a coffee pot, and a new toothbrush.
  24. I've been watching your progress with interest. I have a 5X on the bow and a 5 on the console of my boat. I would like to move the 5 up front, move the 5X to the console with a 7, and network them together when I add the side/structure module. I will basically have a poorer man's version of your set-up. I don't think the 5X is capable of displaying GPS/mapping info, but I could be wrong.
  25. Welcome back! I've missed your calm, clear thinking perspective. 8-)
