Iv been on 24/7 sense January 28th.............. Idk if you can really call this work or a deployment its really sad actually I joined the Army as infantry during the "war on terror" and I get sent to Kuwait on a naval base its some BS the rest of our battalions in Afghanistan and were stuck here "just in case"

snook you will probably know but what is this I caught it today second one we've caught so far. I know it was something lunch before it got away by the looks of the teeth marks in it. caught it jigging a spoon in about 20ft of water off the pier.

Yeah I was gonna say don't you have a dealership closer you said you drove it onto base so assuming that means your military every military installation iv been on is surrounded by dealerships looking to rip fresh joes off with too good to be true deals hell there's a Harley and ford dealer right here in Kuwait trying to get us to buy cars and bikes.

If you have bigger tires on it your speedometer will run slower. also if you bought it from a Nissan dealer they should fix it for free you just got the truck even if its an 08 but like you said gas and time to drive up there that's an awful lot in gas. Even if you went to a local shop it shouldn't be to expensive its probably a quick fix especially if its all electronic like I think it is and not the old school gear and cable.

the unknown one

heres a few more we caught today mostly Queen fish one unknown i'll put a pic up of. We figured out that them Queenfish like fast jerky movements we bought some big heavy jiging spoons and it was on they hit like crazy didnt land any big ones we hooked a few i had a big one about 3ft long but threw the hook. The other guy had one about the same size on as well it got to the surface and went on a burner did one jump shook his head and broke the line. I had what I think was a Cuda chasing mine towards the end it was coming darting out from under the pier it was a dark grayish black and torpedo shaped not flat like the queens, then it went away and I bombed my spoon out into the open ocean on the other side of the pier let it sink a few seconds started ripping it in felt a bump then a bump then the fight was on it striped some line gave me one head shake and then I reeled in empty line cut it clean so im thinking maybe a shark never got eyes on it though. All I know is I love this saltwater fishing these fish are no joke were gonna go in another day and keep a few and grill em up see how they taste i heard the queenfish were good eating but I wanna try some shark!

Heck yeah I love there music im a fan of theres and even Mozart and Beethoven. I also forgot to add the old red hot chili peppers to my list i hate there new stuff there old stuff is good though "otherside" is my favorite song by them every time it comes on the radio it gets cranked I remember watching the music video when I was a kid at my dads for the weekends on VH1 and MTV back when they actually played music all day.

yeah its been 100+ here for the last few weeks 110 today. Iv always wanted to move to Texas sense I was a kid my wife used to say no bout Texas but now shes all for it so its a good possibility i still have plenty of time to think about where exactly and doing what.

well the wife loves the thought of moving to Texas she said any where is better then NY. Iv been looking at like field service techs and mechanic jobs. Theres a ton in Texas around Houston and Corpus Christi as well as Odessa. The next big factor is hows the fishing in them areas lol

What are some of the towns going threw oil booms in the states. I keep seeing how much People are making on these rigs starting out and its hard to ignore and is sparking some interest in me and im kinda thinking bout relocating and working on a rig when i get back from this deployment but all my searches pull up stuff on the middle east or North Dakota is there anywhere else with this boom that's going crazy hiring. I know its hard work but I like hard manual labor I went nuts doing the teachers aide thing I hated it with a passion and need a career change plus my military career is coming to a close soon to only a year left and im out. Im thinking the oil industry may be the way to go it would definitely put a roof over my family's head more then 99% the jobs i'll find in WNY.

I noticed this doing a local bass tournament held by a starting out tackle shop on our small little lake. there were 15 teams so 15 boats they were all big dollar high end boats a few rangers, 2 basscats, 3 Z9s, a few other big name boats then there was the boat I fished outa with my co worker a run down 14' with no trolling motor no electronics just the loud arse outboard. We were the only ones with out a bass boat and we finished in 4th place missed it by like 5ozs most the guys didnt even catch a limit and they had all these big fancy rigs. Dont get me wrong I would love a new nitro or bass cat anything really but the more iv been sitting and thinking on it iv realized all i fish is little lakes and I wont ever go out into the big part of ontario so iv found my self looking at smaller more economical boats that my wife and kids can enjoy as well.

I agree I have the 7'6"MH I use for jig fishing iv pulled in fish and tree branches at times I miss use the heck outa mine its been slammed in the car door at the bottom its crushed a little still works fine. Iv had it hanging off the front or back of the canoe and been fighting a fish on another rod and had it go tip first into the bank or trees the eyes get a little bent and I mean just a little bent nothing major I just bend it back and fish on. Im very abusive on my gear and the rods held up for 2 seasons so far I plan on changing over to all veritas rods with maybe a villan or two thrown in.
