  1. John, In posting what you have said,I think it is too late to sit you down and have a talk about the birds and the bees and about wrapping that weasel..... Your only option is to be a dead beat Dad, or go without, since being a dead beat dad is not where its at, come on up north this summer and we will go fishing anyway , even though you say you cannot afford to own one of these high dollar products. ;)Ivan

  3. Dodgeguy, Your heart is not really set on it, or you would find a way to save up and buy it if you really wanted it.I make under $25,000.00 a year and I can afford to buy one.I am just short of another G Loomis rod, A GLX this time. ;)Ivan

Its been a long time since I have been to New Orleans.I had a friend I had met in the Army, who tried hooking me up with his sister. She showed me alot when she didn't have to work at Brennans.I had a nice time listening to music, seeing all sorts of different people, eating, spending quiet time in a city so full of life.Do any one know what a bay bet is ?His sister called me it alot, but Marcel just smiled at me when I asked him what it meant ?I loved the Creole ice cream there, it was real rich , but almost to a slightly sour taste to it. If I am not mistaken, I think Hart might bought them out ? The reason I say that I think Hart bought them out is because I seen a Hart name brand identical to the original limberneck I still fish with. Not many people in my area thought much of the light cable frame system, but I keep fishing the old Limbernecks I have left. Ivan
  6. The HMG is a workhorse of a rod.I still have a 6' medium pistol grip, I use for topwater baits, but had 2 more HMG carbon veil rods that I just got rid of a few months ago.The carbon veil rods are very sensitive feeling rods, I sort of wished I didn't sell them. :-/ Ivan
  7. The sheriff sent me to ask why you spelled G Loomis correctly, but not Saint Croix ? Ivan
  8. I use Shad colored cranks and they work well, even though there are no shad in the lakes that I fish ? I think its more of having the right lure presentation than it is a color thing. Ivan
  9. The new ones are extremely light in weight compared to other rods that fall anywhere near $35.00.I don't own one, just looked at them at Bass pro shop yesterday. They would be worth looking at if your needing more rods. :)Ivan
  10. I got the Fatfish IMX MBR783C today, paired it up with the Metanium XT, can't wait until I can wet a line with it.Fatfish was an excellent person to buy from,Super Quick response on a shipping question, super quick shipping, received the rod in 2 days. I am already beginning to figure out how I can come up with enough change to get a GLX next. Ivan
  11. Its the reels fault you can't cast under 1/4 oz. weights, its the rods fault, or the line your using. ;)Ivan
  12. That is what we need.A high end Shimano , or Daiwa Scooby doo outfit.Life would get a bit better if we had that option. Ivan
  13. DodgeGuy, The last time I knew, the Daiwa light and Tough was priced lower than your Johnny Morris rods ? Buy whatever brand of rod you want as long as you get out there to fish with it, what else really matters ? As for the debate,I haven't received my GLoomis rod yet, I am thinking tomorrow is when I will be getting it, but I have no doubt that it is going to be a great rod.The fact that so many people here who have nothing but good to say about them is a statement in its self. That many people cannot be wrong. I personally think the Bass pro shop rod line up was nothing more than a marketing scheme to provide different rod series that targets potential customers based on their income level, or spending habits. Why would anyone pay regular price for a Bass pro shop rod when you can wait a little while later and buy the same rod on sale ? Don't worry if you missed that sale, because in a little while, they will have another sale on them. ;)Their Crankin stick is the best rod they make, after owning 2, I am not sorry I ever paid full price for them , they are a real workhorse of a rod for the full price , let alone the sale price. ;DIvan
  14. You should have used "free beer and naked women" as a title. Its about as subtle as Top secret was . Thanks, there goes some more money gone before I get it. Ivan

  16. Converting metric to English, 0.16mm would be .006".Most 10 lb test lines are .012" thick, twice the thickness your asking about, so either you have posted the measurement wrong, or you should be looking at a braid, or possibly fireline ?I do not know the diameter of these 2 lines, but they're your only chance of getting a 10lb test line in that diameter thickness. Ivan
  17. When you get older and become secure enough in your manhood, you could fish with a pink....Um, I meant airy red reel and be very comfortable with owning it. Ivan
  18. Summer craw color works extremely well for me followed by plain green pumpkin for clear water and then Okeechobee craw is what I use for stained water. The baby paca craw is an amazing bait, I don't know why, but they flat out catch fish.I like to peg the least amount of weight needed about 6" up from a 3/0 Owner rig n hook when fising them. The second thing I use is a 3/8 oz. leadhead with weedguard. Those 2 rigs seem to work well for me, but I doubt there is a wrong way to fish them.I also use them as a jig trailer. The baby paca craw really shines where there is a bit of water current. ;)Ivan
  19. If your Trion spool tension knob fits the purist, I have a Quantum MG1310 knob that will fit it that you can have .I lost one off from the 1310 reel once , for fear , I ordered 2 knobs incase I lost another one , but I never did.I don't have a purist, but I had a Trion and the knob fit just like the original, except this one is chrome metal instead of gold color.Instant message me your address if its something you can use so I can send it to you. :)Ivan
  20. G-Loomis is owned by Shimano American Corporation since May 1997. Gary Loomis still works for the G-Loomis company.Toyota is also right here in the United States.Currently, Toyota has six North American final assembly plants in operation. Toyota's six current factories in the U.S. employ approximately 24,230 American people. Ivan
  21. The Aruku shad is a great bait. They were still $5.99 here at Gander Mountain.I did get a couple more and out of the $1.99 bin,I got 5 chug baits, 2 prop baits and 1 prime slow minnow.I would have gotten more minnows, but there weren't any more left. :-[ Ivan
  22. I wanted a G-Loomis rod.I did consider buying a G-Blank rod ,I haven't ruled anything out after this purchase. This time I am getting what I have wanted, regardless of where its made. Ivan
  23. Just curious since I can belong to the Shimano posse, Is it possible to belong to the G-Loomis posse ? I just scraped enough change together to bid on a MBR783C IMX rod at Fatfish.I am thinking I would rather have a 6'6"MH for plastics than a 7' rod. I wanted to thank Fletch, Raul, Alpster and anyone else I might have forgot for the help in the G-Loomis dept, you guys are the best. Ivan
  24. ;D You sound like that is a bad thing to be one od Road Warrior deputies. Taking the time to participate, helping each other out is what makes this site a great one.I will be the first to tell you, I know nothing about spinning gear, but I don't have to with people like you who spotted the price difference and know about spinning gear. In my first post, I mentioned Raul as being very knowledgable in the Japanese reel dept.He would be the one who knows about them to help save a few dollars by buying a Japanese version over a domestic version. The rod building crew seems to be as knowledgable on factory rods as they are custom rod building. That is basically why I am here, just learning alot of things I wouldn't have any where else. ;)Ivan
  25. Illini, I guess I can agree with you to a certain extent.I never beleive that you can have a reel to sell thats new in the box, unless your buying from a place of business such as Bass pro shop, or something like that and then they could have been used lightly before being returned. ;)When I say I bid on hundreds of reels in order to get one at my price, I am not exaggerating one bit, I am a cheap Bass turd. If the item is as described, new in the box, I leave a feedback stating so. If it isn't, I also note it in the feedback,so the next buyer might take that in consideration .Know your reels, stick with your price, check feedbacks on the seller and bid wisely.I just traded 4 Tornos for a Shimano Mentanium XT reel. You might think I got the short end of the deal, but I bought the 4 Torno reels from Ebay.I had a total of $105.00 in the 4 reels.I bought a Daiwa CVZ 253 Millionaire reel NIB, which it was NIB for $71.00 , its very difficult to beat Ebay, if your willing to stick to your guns, bid on alot of items before you win a auction. The thing on the CVZ Millionaire, I had a proxy bid of $150.00 on it, but the auction fell way short of what I thought should have been a fair price.I absolutely love the reel, its found a home for life. Ivan
