  1. I have fished 4 tournaments on Clinton Lake but it has been several years ago and I have had very different results. When the weather was kind of crappy I won both tournaments and when the weather was nice, I blanked both times. Both times I won I was slow rolling white spinnerbaits and fishing jigs around submerged wood in 4-8 feet of water. Most of my fish were caught in areas that I would call mid lake areas but more towards the warmer water end of the lake (divide the lake into thirds warm, middle and cold). That lake is really odd and full of places that just look awesome but just don't seem to hold fish. Hope that helps a little.
  2. I almost never flip (just don't care for it) but I pitch jigs all season long. Every season is Jig season. It is my most productive technique and I enjoy it almost as much as fishing a frog in the slop.
  3. I honestly think the most underused resource is the fishing forum. Many people just scan websites and don't take full advantage of what is there. There are probably not any circumstances or issues that you can come across now days that someone on this forum hasn't seen before and can help you with. Here is an article I wrote a month or so ago about that same thing. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/Bagwell/internet-fishing.html
  4. lol You guys are right, it's not all about the looks but it's not about the looks with women either right? Seriously though, I think I caught my first fish on one of these jigs within my first 5 casts in 47 degree water. Everything about them is solid. That's the difference between a machine pumping out a hundred thousand jigs and a person that loves jigs taking the time to make them right. If you have never seen them go to http://SiebertOutdoors.com They are currently closed for the Bass Resource Road Trip but will be back in action next week.
  5. Yeah man, you seriously should. I like the Elite jigs and the Big O jigs. Very good quality and they look good too.
  6. lol I have never spoke with anyone from any other jig company to know if I could get a better deal. Have you seen one of Siebert's jigs in person? Those things are sweet. I honestly can't recall ever seeing a nicer looking jig and they have high quality hooks instead of some of the cheaper junk hooks that a lot of the mass produced jigs have. That my friend is why I wanted to work with them.
  7. I follow a very similar thought process.
  8. I have got a handful of nice Muskies, some big crappie, little pike, freshwater drum, dogfish, a couple of Bluegill and two that surprised me a little. One morning I was fishing for smallies with a little Yamamoto shad shape worm and within my first 5 casts something just crushed it. After a few seconds I knew it wasn't a bass. It ended up being a 19 lb Flathead catfish. It was fun to catch on light spinning tackle. We went on to catch several dozen smallies that day too. On another outing I flipped a jig into a brush pile, felt a tap, set the hook and it felt like I stuck a tree limb. After a couple of seconds the "tree limb" started to swim away from the brushpile. A couple of minutes later I landed a 17 lb Channel catfish.
  9. A while back I was in search of a new jig. The brand I had been using was ok but the quality wasn't what I wanted out of a jig. A lot of you had suggested two different brands, one of them was Siebert Outdoors. I ordered jigs from both companies and although they were both good, Sieberts was by far the best. I would just like to say thank you all and share this with you. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/siebert-bagwell-42713.html Thanks again everyone.
  10. One of my favorite places to fish is a 167 acre local lake that is crazy tough. Most people call it "lake no fish" or "the dead sea" because it's so challenging. I'll give you some encouragement and say I live up north where the Bass don't get giant and I caught an 8-14 as well as several 6's and 7's there. Just keep trying and use a jig. :-)
  11. I got more new jigs in the mail yesterday and today the temperature is about 36 degrees cooler and it is raining. I am so ready for Spring to reach Illinois and slide right into Summer. At least I got out Saturday while it was half way decent. Caught some decent ones even though the water is in the mid-40's still.
  12. Do any of you board sponsors stock the Red Directional Arrow for a Minn Kota Maxxum? If so, what is the cost?
  13. Glenn I am confused by your post. Aren't you saying the same thing that I said or am I misunderstanding you? From my article - Once you have logged into the forum, click on your name located just to the left of the search box. After clicking on your name a box with different links in it will pop up. Click on the one that says “My Content” and it will bring up your recent posts.
  14. Thanks guys. And I did find out that the rough draft and finished version were somehow merged but the errors are both in sentences that I didn't even write and didn't know were even added to the article (pretty common practice minus the spelling errors). Oh well stuff happens.
  15. Good eye JHoffman. Not sure what the deal is. The sentence itself doesn't even match the sentence that I have saved in the original word doc. I just shot an email to see if maybe a rough draft was accidentally posted. Either way, at least I know you read it. Thanks everyone and for the kind words.

  17. Sure would be nice if our weather would stay decent more than 12 hours so I could use them. It is back in the 20's again here right now. Brrrrrr
  18. I got some sweet looking 1 ounce jigs in the mail today from Siebert Outdoors. I have not had a chance to use them yet but they look awesome, the design is excellent and the construction is top notch. Can't wait to throw these things. Thanks Siebert Outdoors
  19. The reason I don't use those weights is because they tend to "core" the end out of the worms. It pulls the center right out of them. Once that happens there is nothing left for the weight to dig in to.
  20. I like to fish a Texas rigged worm with my weight pegged so it isn't sliding all over the place.
  21. Congrats. I am on the Yamamoto Pro Team and have been for your 10 years. With that being said, a few years ago I fished with FLW Pro Tom Redington at Lake Fork. Tom is a top level member of the LFT Pro Team. After fishing one day, he called over to LFT and had them keep the place open after hours so we could go in their place and look around. Everyone there was extremely polite and very much like family. They didn't even give me crap for rocking all of my Gary Yamamoto gear in their place. They hooked us up on some stuff and said if we ever needed anything to feel free to call them. Definately a classy group of people. Best of luck to you bro.
  22. I think after this round of Insanity I am going to buy these: GSP's Rushfit Insanity Asylum Les Mill's Combat
  23. I think some of the meat and potatoes of Chris' blog has been lost in translation.
  24. Awesome response Kevfishin. That was spot on my dude.
