  1. Thanks for taking care of that Glenn. JT Bagwell
  2. My biggest weakness is probably fishing during floods. Sometimes the Mississippi River (which I fish a lot) can get WAY out of its banks. There is so much stuff in the water that I just have no idea where to start. I have fished in a guy's back yard and about 1/4 mile back in the woods (both normally dry) while in my 20' boat. The way I try to combat this problem is to look for areas that have a really high bank. For example: Some marinas have a high dike along one or more sides. Those are the type of areas that I look to first. JT Bagwell
  3. Man that does suck, sorry to hear about it. Why in the heck were you on the way to the lake with conditions like those anyway? You must have fishing fever pretty bad man. JT Bagwell
  4. I usually try to keep quiet and just read everyone's thoughts, but I am bored so I will add a little bit of my thoughts on Ike. There is nothing about the guy that would prevent me from allowing my kids (if I had any) to look up to Mike. The guy can fish like a machine and I am sure he does not scream for every fish. If he catches 50 and only screams for 5 of them, you can bet those 5 will be on tv. Furthermore, I just got off of the telephone with him about 15 minutes ago and he is pretty much just like any other fisherman that is in his late 20's or early 30's. We all just like to have fun and catch some fish. JT Bagwell Ps: I think I cussed more in our last conversation than he did. So hate me, not Ike. Oh wait, he is famous and I am not so who cares if I cuss.
  5. LOL Whoa, I have to say I have got some interesting emails today. Some contained some very unpleasant names. lol 99% were friendly but some just made me laugh at the ignorant name calling. Heard from a pretty good source that I had the phones ringing off the hooks at Yamamoto central. lol JT Bagwell
  6. ;D It would serve them right for not reading all the way through. JT Bagwell
  7. LOL That was pretty much the plan. I came up with the idea a few weeks ago and thought it would be amusing. Just to make sure I wasn't going to get fired, I had to ask the boss at Yamamoto if it was ok. JT Bagwell
  8. LOL That's the same thing Jay Kumar told me last night. JT Bagwell
  9. Bassnleo, I talked to Glenn and there is/was a bug in the system. He is trying to get it fixed. JT Bagwell
  10. Somewhere in the video it said the area was only around 3 acres. I am pretty sure that from a tree you could see a 6' fence on any side of 3 acres. My yard at my old house was 2 1/2 acres and I could see a golf ball from one end to the other. I think that is a poor excuse for old Jimmy. JT Bagwell
  11. I know this is a "Bass Fishing" board, but this shocking story involves bass angler Jimmy Houston. What a piece of dog crap he is. I hope he loses all of his sponsors. Glenn, I am sorry for linking to other sites, but everyone has to see this. http://real-hunters.com/bellar-trial-video.cfm If you don't have time to watch all 12 minutes, just go to the 3rd clip down and watch Jimmy Houston hunt caged deer. His own website has even set up a special area on the forums where he can get ripped for it. I have yet to see him post a response. http://jimmyhouston.com/community/index.php/topic,200.0.html That is just SICK!!! > JT Bagwell
  12. I rub some MegaStrike on their forehead and hook them on a Carolina Rig with a 3/4 oz weight. ;D Sorry, it's been a long day already. lol JT Bagwell
  13. LOL You are welcome. However, my column is not always the "instructional" type of deal. It varies from "How To" stuff to rambling about "Bass Industry" related things that get on my dang nerves. If you look at the "Fishing Articles" button at the very top of this page you will see a link called Bagwell's Bass Tactics. There you can read past columns on various topics. There are also some of my old articles (prior to having a column). Take care, JT Bagwell
  14. They have plastic livewells that fit in a lot of Jon boats at Bass Pro Shops and Cabelas. You might want to check out their websites. JT Bagwell
  15. I am going to attack my weakness head on. That would be Finesse fishing. There are some tactics that I have avoided just because I would prefer to pitch jigs and Kreatures all day. The problem with that is, sometimes the fish want a little something else in their diet. Like maybe a little Kut Tail worm or something small. JT Bagwell
  16. You are welcome. I just hope you all enjoy it. JT Bagwell
  17. Glenn has made it possible for everyone to start subscribing to Bagwell's Bass Tactics. This my monthly column which I am sure most of you are at least remotely familiar with. You should receive the next issue by Monday at the latest. Sign up now and get it sent to your email, it doesn't cost you anything. http://bassresource.com/lists/?p=subscribe&id=2 JT Bagwell
  18. I would really like to take this moment to thank Columbia Sportswear for keeping me WARM!!! ;D JT Bagwell
  19. Mike, I was in Jamaica and Grand Cayman last week and the temperatures were in the 90's. Now I am back home in Northern Illinois and the weatherman is saying that the temperatures will really start to drop tomorrow and by saturday they probably wont get out of the 20's. He also said that it will likely be that way for at least a few weeks. JT Bagwell
  20. Thanks again everyone. Maybe if I keep thinking about fishing, I will forget that it is absolutely freezing outside. JT Bagwell
  21. I don't think there is any way to calculate water temperature based on the current air temperature. A cheap way for you to tell the water temperature is to get a swimming pool thermometer and tie it to about 50' of PowerPro. Then you just give it a toss into the water. Wait about a minute or two and pull it back in. JT Bagwell
  22. Your resume is pretty good for your age. My only concern is that you are only 14 years old and you just placed your name and home address on the internet for millions of people to see. I would like to suggest to the moderator or you Nick, that you delete your address from here. If you watched Dateline you would see what I am talking about. There are way to many sick people out there that are praying on kids. JT Bagwell
  23. Thanks guys, it looks like you all are almost as excited as I am. lol JT Bagwell
  24. Many of you may remember my weekly column called Bagwell's Bass Tactics. Well after a long break due to an overloaded schedule, my column is back. The difference is this time around it will be monthly instead of weekly. Another change is that BassResource.com will make it possible to subscribe for FREE via email. If you are not familiar with Bagwell's Bass Tactics, let me introduce you to it. http://bassresource.com/fishing/Bagwell/bagwells_bass_tactics_6.html That link is to one of my weekly columns from last season. Take Care, JT Bagwell
  25. What is wrong with fishing in nice stuff? I usually wear a $1,000 diamond ring (my wedding ring) and one of my expensive watches (I just got another $700 Movado watch when I was in Grand Cayman last week). So what? That is just my style. Some might not like it, but I do and that's all that matters. I personally think it's cool that women anglers get the respect that they earned. It is no different than golfer Annika Sorenstam. She can put a nice whoopin' on most men golfers. You have heard of her right? Anyway, I don't see anything wrong with a woman being on the cover of a fishing magazine no matter how she dresses (if she deserves it). JT Bagwell
