  1. LOL Man I am serious, those things started driving me nuts. I was trying to talk to customers and all I could hear was "Quack Quack Quack Quack." At one point I snuck outside to give my ears a rest and even that didn't work. When I got outside they had big generators running to power the stuff they had for the kids. Those things were louder than the dang duck calls. We had to stop by Walgreens and get some Tylenol before we headed back out of town. JT Bagwell
  2. It was INSANE. I was told that they doubled the sales that they were predicting. The parking lot was so full that my wife had to park at the far end of the lot when she came back from shopping. All of the employees that I met there were great. The fishing department manager (Patrick) was a super nice guy. The only thing I could have done without was the Duck Calls. They gave each employee a duck call and then they started letting every kid in the store make a duck call. After hearing duck calls all day, I was ready to go nuts. Terre Haute is very lucky. They have an excellent store, with an excellent staff. Plus the store seemed huge. It had a great selection of fishing equipment. They could use a lot more Yamamoto products though. They were kind of short in that department. JT Bagwell
  3. I can not believe people are getting that worked up over that stupid a** statement. What I meant was that boats that are faster have a tendancy to chine walk a lot (until you learn to drive them). I did not mean that Rangers and Skeeters are crappy boats because I happen to like them both a lot. In reality I could really care less what boat someone drives. If they like it then that is all that matters. Especially since they are the only ones that are making that payment each month. To whoever that was that made the statement about Tritons being over priced: I agree completely. I think every boat on the market is over priced. There is no need for a boat to cost half as much as what people are paying for houses. JT Bagwell
  4. I did a product review for a lure retriever 2 or 3 years ago. It was called the Go-Get-It. I believe the website was www.mygogetit.com. It worked very well. When I was testing it I was fishing a deep diving Lucky Craft bait over a brush pile in 12-15 feet of water. The Go-Get-It saved me about 4-5 baits in one day (thats $60-$75). Ever since then I have kept that lure retriever in my boat. JT Bagwell
  5. So this Gander store is in the same building or across the street from a mall? If so, my wife will love that, but my wallet won't. lol Is it a big mall (one that can keep her busy all day)? Are there any hotels right in the same little area? I would prefer to have something very close to the store. Thanks guys. This will be my first visit to the city of Terre Haute. I think it will be about a 550 mile round trip for me. JT Bagwell
  6. LOL Yeah I guess that would be a long drive for you. JT Bagwell
  7. Anyone in here going to the Grand Opening of the Gander Mtn store in Terre Haute, Indiana this weekend? If so, stop by and say hello. I will be making the trip over there to work for Yamamoto on Saturday. Sounds like they are going to have a pretty decent deal going on. I have never been to Terre Haute, Indiana before. Hopefully I don't get lost. JT Bagwell
  8. You made my point perfectly. Thank You. You "can" get used to driving a Triton if you do it on a regular basis. That is what it takes to get rid of the chinewalk. It has nothing to do with your ability to drive a boat. It is simply your awareness of how to handle a boat that chinewalks. JT Bagwell Ps: I am sure there are tons of people on here that have been driving a boat longer than me. I am only 29 years old.
  9. I think a couple of people need to go back and read what was actually said. I didn't see anywhere in the previous posts where it said Triton was better than Skeeter or Ranger. I did see where it said they required more skill to drive. It's kind of funny, I never saw anywhere that said Triton was the "best" either. I am not looking to start a pecker pulling contest over who makes the better boat. Frankly I couldn't really care less. Just because a boat chinewalks doesn't make it a bad ride. It just means that you need more driving practice. My TR20 will chinewalk you to death if you don't know how to control it, but it rides good when I am behind the wheel. JT Bagwell
  10. I drive a GMC Z71 (V8 engine) pickup with 4 wheel drive. So far I have not had to use 4WD to get up a ramp. My boat is a Triton TR20. JT Bagwell
  11. I would just take it to a good shop. With motors being as expensive as they are these days, there is no sense in risking it. JT Bagwell
  12. I have a few of the Columbia Sportswear, Titanium Series parkas. They are pretty nice. The pants that I have are also made by Columbia. They are called Munky Bar Pants (I am pretty sure that's how it was spelled anyway). JT Bagwell
  13. HAHAHAHHA Mike now that was some funny stuff. LOL@ Angler Extreme Make-Over All I can do is shake my head at you guys. lol Ok I am out of here. I have to go load my boat up so I can fish tomorrow. It is finally warmer here (for now anyway). Take Care You Jokers, ;D JT Bagwell
  14. It depends where and what technique you are fishing. If I am flipping jigs I use 50 lb test PowerPro. With Crankbaits around wood, I use 14 lb test Shakespeare Supreme. With Drop-Shot rigs I will use 8 lb or 10 lb test Cajun. So as you can see, the strength rating and type of line will vary with each technique. JT Bagwell
  15. I fully understand how the business works, but thanks for the refresher. My question pertained to the companies that were signing anglers as a result of seeing their info on this forum. (I guess I should have clarified the question a little better) JT Bagwell
  16. How big are the companies that you all are dealing with? Small start-ups, Mom and Pops or big corporations? Just curious, if you don't mind me asking. JT Bagwell
  17. I agree, that is definately a battery issue. Nice work guys. JT Bagwell
  18. Awesome, I am glad for you. Waiting for the new rig seems to last an eternity. Nice looking boat. JT Bagwell
  19. LOL @ lures stored in a dress I keep my soft plastics in their original packages. A lot of times I will consolidate and place like colors in the same bag. Then I just put them in one section of my tackle compartment in my boat. I do have a couple of tackle organizers I might try out. JT Bagwell
  20. LOL ;D You guys are a bunch of nuts. JT Bagwell
  21. It has just annoyed me with all of the... "help the kids, send me your stuff" "if you have a heart, you will send me free stuff" "I am poor, send me free stuff" It's pretty crazy. JT Bagwell
  22. I didn't count the emails, but it was a lot. JT Bagwell
  23. After my column this week (which must have been misunderstood by many readers), I have been bombarded by emails asking for free tackle. To help reduce the number of emails that I am getting asking for my fishing tackle, I am making a blanket statement. NO, I will not send you my fishing tackle. Please do not send me emails with hard luck stories, guilt trips or anything like that because it is not going to help. My tackle is going to stay with me, period. In my column I did not say that I had to much tackle. What I said was having it all in the boat at the same time can lead to organization and selection problems. Here is my column from this week. http://bassresource.com/fishing/Bagwell/bagwells_bass_tactics_13.html Take Care, JT Bagwell
  24. A. I didn't have to do much research to find out what boat you drive. You listed in the "What do you drive?" post. B. You are correct about my BFL weights. It also clearly states that I was fishing as a Co-Angler because it was back when I was too busy making money to pre-fish. Additionally I must have done better than average since I finished that year ranked either 9th or 11th overall (can't remember because it was awhile ago). It sure wasn't something I ever tried to hide. C. Who are you? Name doesn't ring a bell. JT Bagwell
  25. I never said Skeeter was a low end boat, what I said was Nitro was a low end boat (and they are). I also said Skeeters (along with the other brands I mentioned) are very easy to drive (and they are). I also don't think an 882 with a 150 on the back is going to run 70 (at least not a true GPS speed). Low to mid 60's is probably more accurate. JT Bagwell
