For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Thanks for the report and pics man. I was actually the KSU Team's President back in '06-'08 just when collegiate fishing started booming. Sounds like you're off to a great start, best of luck at the NC!

Milford Fishing Trip
Now today they are forecasting 16mph on Saturday, it is supposed to come right out of the south so the lower end of the lake should be fairly protected. I'm not much of a shore angler but you could give it a try I suppose. If your not too picky on what you catch try the tubes on the backside of the dam, may catch all sorts of different stuff this time of year.

haha, scratch that forecast, now they are saying 23mph winds on Saturday, anything over 20 and it gets ugly out there :-/

Milford Fishing Trip
A 16' Lund should be alright, deep v's are a great choice when the wind blows Wind is forecasted to lay low this weekend so if that holds you should be alright. You can stay at cabins in the thunderbird area right on the lake, the state park may even have a few cabins now. If not, choose from any of many chain hotels in Junction City.

University of Florida or gainesville area bass clu
Its rather easy to start up a team if you want. Most universities have what they call "sport clubs", meaning your just a club that happens to compete. Get in touch with someone at your rec dept. and they'll point you in the right direction. *Breaking News* ABA announced that they are no longer continuing their college "CAST" program. Their college turnout isn't very good now that ESPN, FOX, and The Outdoor Channel are starting up their own college fishing tournaments.

Fishing oriented careers
That's funny that you brought the summer internships up; summers for engineering college students to totally geared towards internships and I am right in the middle of resume building, interviews, and so on in hopes on landing an internship. I will certainly search the big boat manufactures and see if they offer anything down my alley.

Fishing oriented careers
There's a plan! Cross my fingers, but I should graduate in engineering in 2 years and would certainly consider a job with such companies; but I'll bet job openings are still slim with them.

How often do you go Fishing?
When I'm away from home at college I try to get out at least once a week. When I'm back home I fish the lake we live on multiple times every day, an outing may last 5 minutes to 2 hours.

Match Fishing Update
Man I wish I got that show here where I live. You all make sure to be watching it about a year from now, I got an email just last week from the producers of the show saying they are thinking of starting a college version of the show for summer '07.

1st post here, wish it was on a happier note
I guess my advise would be to set the hook as soon as you think you got a hit. Don't let the fish start swimming with the bait before you set the hook. Remember "hook sets are free". As for getting the hook after they are gut hooked, I hate trying to perform open stomach surgery so I usually just cut the line as far down as I can and let the fish go. Less hassle for me and less torture for the fish. But in all honesty, manage your line and set the hook asap after a hit and you shouldn't have to deal with the swallowed hook too much, or atleast I don't. Welcome to the forum 8-)
