  1. I have personally never even seen this weight before. I just thought it was interesting looking.
  2. Bass boats are such powerful pieces of equipment that I never consume alcohol before or during operation. I just wait until I get home.
  3. These Whacky rig weights look interesting http://tinyurl.com/q2bxcoj Have any of you used them?
  4. The Yamamoto Flapping Hog is a perfect little jig trailer. It's compact but has a lot of movement.
  5. LOL Now that you mention it, it was kind of like that. We didn't call the cops. It happened so fast and so unexpectedly that it caught us off guard. I never got mad or even thought about calling the cops. I was just really confused about what the guy's issue was. Just glad I kept my cool and didn't end up getting murdered on the side of the interstate in Nebraska. lol
  6. Drove to Omaha yesterday for a wedding and shortly after entering the city (while still on the interstate), I look in my rear view mirror and see some guy in an old beat up truck closing in on me fast. He is getting so close that I tell my wife, Holy sh!t this guy is going to ram me. For some reason he flips me off so I give him one right back. He then goes onto the shoulder of the interstate and tries to pass me but it doesn't work. A few seconds later he tries again and gets where he is right next to my wife's door and proceeds to try to ram me into the cars in the other lane, all while laughing like a lunatic. After that he drops way back behind me and I take the exit to go to my hotel and he exits right behind me and as we get to the end of the ramp he speeds up and tries to ram the front of our car and then drives off into the sunset still laughing like a crazy person. Normally I am a big hot head and get all fired up, but this whole deal had me so confused that I never even got mad. I just kept thinking to myself, out of all the people on the interstate, why did he decide to jack with me? It was just so stinking crazy.
  7. All of Wiley X's frame and lenses are ANSI Impact rated. Some of them are even Ballistic rated. In regards to someone mentioning RX lenses. I would definitely recommend the Digital RX lenses from WX. I have a pair of the P-17 with Digital RX lenses and they are really nice. I wear contacts most of the time so I don't wear them a lot but when I need them it is nice to have an RX pair as a backup.
  8. Another pretty cool show. http://www.20ftdeep.com/the-ike-way/ This is the 20 feet deep episode with Mike Iaconelli. Some interesting insight.
  9. What an interesting video about Tour Pro Steve Kennedy. http://www.20ftdeep.com/mr-kennedy/ I heard Mike Iaconnelli plugging this on Ike Live so I thought I would check it out.
  10. Throw a lizard on a heavy drop shot rig.
  11. I am seriously eating Frosted Flakes while reading this. lol
  12. I always enjoy reading these threads in the morning.
  13. Not sure if you guys saw how Dave Lefebre won the FLW event this weekend but it was nuts. I think he was something like 8 1/2 lbs behind going into the final day. Here is a little piece of an article I got from another site. In a nearly identical scenario from two days ago, Lefebre hooked a 4-pound largemouth on the wakebait this afternoon, but he quickly saw a bigger fish also giving chase. He played the 4-pounder a little longer than normal in hopes the bigger one would ****** the bait as well. “I let the 4-pounder swim under the boat, around the trolling motor and out again and the 6-pounder never left its side,” he said. “Then it went after it and missed it and then it finally got (the bait).” He’s not sure on the elapsed time of the whole sequence, but figures from the time the first fish hit until he netted them both, it was 90 seconds at least. He made two culls with those fish and went from 15 1/2 pounds to 19 plus. “It’s the craziest thing I’ve ever done and I did it twice in one tournament,” he said. “The first time it didn’t work, the second it did.” Most people, myself included would have just snatched that 4 pounder into the boat and tried to get a bait back in the water right away.
  14. I think it is awesome how we almost all used a different bait or technique to catch the first fish of the year. There were a few jerkbaits, jigs and Yamamoto Senkos listed but as a whole it is a wide variety.
  15. What bait did you use to catch your first Bass of 2015? Mine was a white vibrating jig with a 4" Yamamoto Swim Senko (031). Coincidentally, it was the same bait that my first fish of 2014 came on also.
  16. I am one that almost always likes to make contact with something when fishing crankbaits (wood, rock, grass, etc.) Now there are rare cases where I am cranking along a ledge or something to that effect but generally I am all about hitting something.
  17. My kids have a truckload of beetle spins. They love those things. I ordered a whole case of them them last spring.
  18. LOL you got me there.
  19. We hit a high of 80 degrees last Monday afternoon and this afternoon it was 33 degrees. What a difference a week makes in Northern Illinois.
  20. All is good in the hood. And since I don't really like birthday cake, my wife made me a cheese cake. lol
  21. Thanks guys, sorry for the delay, I just saw this. You guys are the best fishing buds a guy could have.
  22. Glenn, do you remember back in the day when he would post the videos on here of him singing Daughtry songs and you could tell his computer was set up in his kid's play room or something like that? It was so dang funny. Can't believe how long ago that was. He is on my Twitter and I saw that he has a tv show coming out soon.
  23. I had been seeing stuff on social media about this but I kept ignoring it. About a week ago I finally watched it (or actually listened to it since it is like a talk radio format, no fishing footage). This show is excellent. Mike is really becoming a good radio personality. I watched an archive of the 1st episode (with long time Bass Resource member EdBassmaster as the guest). The show was ok but he has improved 100% since then. I think Pete Glusek is an excellent co-host too. He is funny and knowledgeable. Since it is online, be prepared to hear a little bit of swearing but nothing too crazy most of the time. Each episode is probably about 3 hours long. Then there is an After Hours segment where he answers questions from viewers for about another hour or so. You can see all 17 or 18 episodes by going to mikeiaconelli.com and then clicking on the Ike Live link at the upper right corner of the screen. Definitely worth checking out.
  24. I am sure it is like everything else in fishing, everything works sometimes. There are cases where you would probably get lucky and catch something on a jig with no trailer but percentage wise, it is going to be rare. Trailers just give the swim jig so much more action.
