I personally think it would endanger the greatness of BR. There would be no way Glenn and the moderators could police a chat room. That would lead to arguments about politics, religion, and shimanos that would carry over to the forums. We'd probably lose a lot of valuable members over petty matters. For that reason, I hope BR stays like it is. On a side note, someone else brought this up a while back and tried it on their own for a while. It was one of the younger guys (sorry, I don't remember who). However, I haven't heard them talk about it recently.

Grimlin, I read the first six words of your post and I knew your situation was headed south (and fast). Any story that has the words "my girl's cousin" is going to end up being about a prison experience. ;D

I would go with the .243. It is fine for varmint hunting (and general plinking), but it is also fine for deer hunting. Some folks claim that the .243 won't knock a deer down, and they'll run off and die in the woods. But, contrary to what people say, there is no magical cal. that will take a deer down without running every time. That depends more on the shooter. If you hit a deer in the right place you're going to kill it whether you're using a .243 or a 7mm. Practice on the varmints enough and learn how to track a wounded deer and the .243 should serve you well.

I would have gotten the gas that night. The town I grew up in had a gas war and the prices went down to .62, so folks might have assumed that something similar was happening. It dosn't seem likely since the correct price was listed on the sign though. But, I'd go ahead and get the gas. If I found out later that a mistake was made, I'd go pay the owner the difference. This is no different than a clerk at Wal-Mart giving you back too much change. You might take it and put it in your wallet, but when you find out later that a mistake was made, take it back.

Great game. I listened to it on the radio. So, I didn't see it, but I heard something that I've never heard before...a player picking up the official's flag and throwing it!!! That's crazy! His wallet will be a little lighter.

Funny story. My sister was at church one day and noticed one of the choir singers would not keep his eyes off her. She's there with her husband and two children. She gets a little uncomfortable and then starts to get upset. by the end of the servicde she is steaming, but says nothing to my brother in law to avoid a situation. When it's finally over, she ses that the person next to him leads him out, where he unfolds his WHITE CANE. I don't think there's been a time where she has felt worse for what she was thinking. Thanks for sharing that Redline. I'll have to file that away for a sermon illustration!

I agree with 4bizz. I've caught guys looking at my wife before and I normally try to catch their eye and smile, or have even walked by and whispered, "She's good looking ain't she?" ;D The only time I've gotten mad, and had to defend my wife's honor, was when a guy made a very rude and disrespectful comment. I did like Jesus did and "cleansed the temple" (or was it cleaned his clock :-?). I regretted what I did later, and wished I would have just talked to the guy. Live,learn, repent. Redline, in your situation, I think you did the right thing.

That's a nice 6! Congrats to you dad. I just logged on here to vent about losing one. About an hour before dark I shot a nice 8-pointer. When I got to the place I shot him I saw a pile of stomach contents and blood (not a good sign). Being a dummy, I tracked it about 35 yards into the woods (getting pretty good blood), but I kicked it up. I didn't have a gun with me, and it was about to get dark, so I left. I ate supper and went back with my wife (she stayed at the truck to blow the horn if I got lost). I tracked it through a thick cutdown a couple of hundred yards and for over an hour and a half, then lost the blood trail. I had found several puddles of blood, but couldn't find the buck. I hate that, but I did everything I could to find him. BTW, I had to call my wife on the cell phone and get her to blow the horn for me to find my way out. I hate killing something and not finding it

One good thing about this crazy season is that all of the upsets might cause the BCS computers to explode ;D
