  1. I live in West Texas and fish for largemouth bass. The lakes here are all about dry. Most lakes are below 30%. I talked with with a guy checking jug lines the other day. He told me that most of the fish caught on the deepest hooks were dead. Makes me think that the oxygen levels might be low in the deeper areas of the lake. I have also noticed that I have continued to catch bass shallow even though it has been over 100 degrees for something like 60 days. Does this sound like this lake might be getting ready to go through a low oxygen kill? Does a low oxygen kill start from the bottom up? Thank you.
  2. Brush hogs are hard to beat as far as plastics go. I am really starting to like jigs more and more. I like the Booyah A-jig in 3/8's with a zoom speed craw. Claws on it kick real well when you are reeling in. Always snag a few fish when I'm done working the jig and am reeling in for the next cast.
  3. Crankbaits for me. I can have people all around me catching fish on them and I won't get a bite. That and purple worms. Alway hear thats a good color but never get bit with them. Must be a confidence thing
  4. Oops. Hit post before I typed. Meant to say that .ghoti.s post really cracked me up.
  5. I bought an H20 reel and had problems with the drag. Caught a 2-3lb bass and it pulled drag no matter how hard I tightened it down. When I went back to return it I talked to another guy returning one with the same problem. I'm not saying they are bad reels. I may have just had a lemon. I just decided not to take the chance. I will say that is cast very smooth. Better that my revo s. Now that I think about it, may need to give it another chance
  6. Never had a problem with snakes. Leave them alone and they'll leave you alone.
  7. Nice rod makes a huge difference. I used a $15-$20 rod before I got a nice one. You have to re-learn what a bite feels like. I set the hook every time I bumped a rock or tree branch the first few times I used it. Get the rod. I don't know anything about the Vendetta, but any $80 dollar rod is going to beat the $17 dollar one.
  8. I cast over a tree branch that was about three feet above the water and got tied up. My senko was hanging 6-8" above the water and as the wind moved the branch it would dip the tail in the water. While I waited on my buddy to troll us over to it I got to watch a bass jump straight up, bite the senko and hook itself. It was waiting there for me when we pulled up.
  9. I've had a lot of bite on frogs, but rarely hook up. That prob has a lot to do with me ripping the frog out of the water at the slightest movement. Guess I get a little excited
  10. I have used spiderwire braid and did not care for it. It seemed to fray and discolor to fast. I use sufix performance braid now and love it. Been using it for a couple of years.
  11. love my revo s. Buddy of mine has a quantum energy that he used to swear by. used my revo and then bought one.
